lingame will be closed from 10:00 p.m. tonight and remain closed through 4:00 a.m. tomorrow. southbound lanes will be closed in san santorum mama -- san mateo. sergio drivers can expect to see interruptions earlier than announced? >> reporter: the plan is to have the work begin at 10:00 but the california highway patrol tells us that drivers on highway 101 should expect to start seeing the lanes being shut done an hour before that. the main objective for the pg&e crews today was installing the temporary power poles that will hold six lines. they had to remove what was left of the massive metal tower that failed when it was hit bay piece of construction equipment. along with then new power poles crews have prestrung ropes they use to hoist the power lines on to the poles.

the chp says their officers and caltrans crews will have to begin shutting down highway 101 well before that. >> we'll have caltrans start the closure at 9:00. so the closure won't be in effect 10:00 p.m., the entire closure. that doesn't mean there still won't be imeffect traffic prior to that time. >> reporter: anyone headed to or from the airport or the city needs to come up with alternate routes and surface streets may not be the best option. they got pretty congested during the first shutdown this weekend. now you may notice that there's not a whole lot of work going on here right now. that's because pg&e crews took a break this afternoon around 1:30. they're going to be returning here about 8:00, so they can all be ready when work starts at 10:00. reporting live, abc7 news. >> and for help getting around traffic problems get waze on

your smart phone. you can download waze and join the abc7 group for free. right now highway 116 near gush veil is closed. a large redwood tree fell across the roadway. the tree took out power lines as it fell knocking out power to dozens of customers. a work crew has responded. police in oakland are investigating a shooting near lake merritt this afternoon. it happened around noon just a couple blocks from the lake. witnesses heard six shots coming from a nearby basketball court. police found shell casings in. a bullet grazed at least one person. there will children nearby at the time of the shooting but no one needed medical attention. police in south san francisco shot a man armed with a shotgun today. it happened at around 9:30 this morning near delmont at the and romney avenues. cornell bernard is live with more on what happened and it's a story you'll see only on abc7

news. cornell? >> reporter: just got word from police that the unidentified man who was shot is now in stable condition tonight. the scene is now clear but this where is police confronted a man who they say refused to drop his weapon. a shotgun sits in the middle of the street, marking the spot where police officers shot an armed man. >> i was about to go outside for a run, and then i heard a gunshot and right after that i hard the sirenses going. so right after i heard that i decided to stay inside. >> reporter: sunday morning south san francisco police got a 9-1-1 call, man with a gun walking down romney avenue. >> the resident reported seeing an a male subject with a shotgun or rifle. >> reporter: police say two officers located the man and told him to drop the shotgun. >> given multiple commands by the officers to comply with the officers' request. he remained armed with a firearm, which forced the

officer to fire his weapon. >> reporter: the man was wind taken to the hospital. >> this guy is going to get it, bang he got it. >> reporter: one witness says the suspect pointed his gun at officers. >> told him to get on the ground, they said it several times. the guy kept advancing towards the police officer. he raised a long object appeared to be a shotgun and he raised it up and the cop bang one shot, the guy fell to the ground. >> reporter: the officers were not hurt. neighbors say they'd never seen the man before. others say this is the last place they'd expect a police shooting to happen. >> very scary. quiet neighborhood. never happens here. >> reporter: a police investigation is now underway. in south san francisco, cornell bernard, abc7 news. >> there are new arrests tonight in a major raid on bay area bail bond companies. we're getting a first look at the bail bonds agents accusations over using inmates to recruit knew customers in jail. 23 agents are now in. >> up from 18 on friday.

in what the state insurance a agency calls separation bailout. the raid included employees of three san jose bonds companies, luna aladdin and bail hotline. police in palo alto are investigating the second report of a flasher in the past week. the latest was just before 10:00 friday night at a parking garage r down. a woman says man followed her part of the way to her car. she pulled over a couple blocks away to program her gps and he was back. knocking on her window. that is when she says he pulled his pants down. another woman reported a flasher on a bicycle near monroe park last tuesday. there are now six cases of legionnaire's disease at san quentin state prison. tests came back today confirming five more inmateses have the pneumonia-like disease. the first inmate diagnosed is now in good condition at marin general hospital. 51 other inmates who have

symptoms of legionnaire's under observation at the prison. water use is limited to stop the disease from spreading. people along the pacific coast in northern california have been warned about hazardous beach conditions today. the coast guard says there could be strong swells. you can see waves crashing against the pacifica pier today. lisa argen is in with the first look at live doppler 7hd. >> we still have a couple hours for that advisory, and you seek from the north coast, down to monterey bay it's the west and northwest facing beaches that have the strong rip currents. but right now, due to the gusty winds outside, that is breaking up that rip current activity. so, look at the airport. 37 miles an hour. novato, and san carlos, 23 mountain view, san jose, the breezy winds are treasure but also ushering cooler marine air. going to mean cooler overnight lows and perhaps we'll get a taste of fall to come in the
