how we are doing compared to normal this year we are a good five degrees above average. sfo today we were expecting about 80. our normal is 74. this trend will continue tomorrow. i'll have no, sir numbers as well with the 7 day accuweather forecast. carolyn. >> thank you, frances. we are entering day actual of the bart transbay tube closer and all in all things are going pretty well. saturday's closer caused plenty of backups at the toll plaza, but no worse than a weekday morning commute. however it did cause a few sour notes for people going to a big concert at at&t park. abc7 news reporter melody woodrow has the story. >> 50,000 billy joel fans had to navigate these conditions getting to the park. making the path a little more manageable, parking control officers like denise. >> because so many in a small amount of time and spacing, it

transbay tube. unable the push alerts for an instant up date the moment the tube reopens. this evening the evening rush shower -- this week the evening rush hour drive between the north bay and san francisco is going to look a lot different. starting tuesday drivers will see four northbound lanes and two southbound lanes on the golden gate bridge between 4 and 6:00 p.m. a zipper truck will adjust the movable barrier to add and subtract the lanes each day. that was one of the goals of the barrier when it was installed back on january. it could change based on accidents and traffic conditions. morgan hill police are still on the scene at an apartment complex trying to flush out a robbery suspect. at 7:30 last night officers say a man believed to be linked to a robbery at a game stop ran into the complex on barry court. an officer tells abc7 news the suspect is believed to be in one of six apartments. they are all connected.

officers are going from apartment to apartment. it's a time-consuming process. they aren't sure if the suspect is still there. a person was shot multiple times at the rockridge bart station overnight but is expected to survive. witnesses heard several gunshots around 6:30. officers arrived to find a trail of blood through the parking lot and plenty of gun cartridges on the ground. police detained and interviewed at least one suspect. the victim was found inside a car on a nearby street. nine san jose state students who were burned out their home are discovering the kindness are strangers. the community is rallying to help them. a about. c7 news reporter janet o. has the details. >> with not much more than the clothes on their back, these san jose state students say they still have a lot to be grateful for. a pose central worker who happened to be covering this route for the first time saw the

students in distress and wanted to help. >> i asked them what they needed. >> this neighbor two doors down spent all day on the phone rounding up food, mattresses and more. >> they are all struggling students. they need that help. they already have tuition to pay for, and they just lost everything. >> the house is a total loss after two fires erupted in the span of ten hours. the first fire scorched the second-floor unit of this duplex. a second fire at 3:00 a.m. tore through the attic. all nine students weren't home at the time. >> we started getting text messages and pictures and our house starting to burn. >> we are trying to keep it together. >> some questions if fire crews did all they did that knocked down the first fire that may have led to the second blaze. >> we used our thermal cameras to check for hotspots. none were found.

the fire department stayed for self hours. >> they are calling it two separate incidents until investigators figure out what happened. meanwhile a gofundme site has been set up for the students as they figure out their next steps. in san jose, abc7 news. >> the largest wildfire burning in california is still growing. the rupp fire east of fresno has burned 85,000 acres. a lightning strike july 131st set is off. low humidity and hot fire has made the fire hard to control. it's just 25% contained. a big grass fire in sunnyvale is now out. about 10 acres burned in valen's park yesterday just after 11:00 in the morning. abc7 news viewer curtis light shot this video showing huge plumes of smoke. it took crews about an hour to get the fire under control. in the north bay two napa county firefighters are recovering after their fire truck flipped and rolled into a

creek. it happened on wooden valley need northeast of napa. the firefighters were on their way to a call but dispatchers cancelled it just before the crash. they suffered minor injuries. a utility crew had to be extra careful repairing a waterline that broke in san francisco's crocker amazon neighborhood. viewers sent us videos of the party pouring into the street at brunswick and pope around noon yesterday. at least one basement and garage reportedly had damage. a repair crew worked all day to fix the leak. they say they took their time because of an adjacent gas line. more complicated because of the gas line and larger pieces of concrete are coming out. we would normally break them up more. with he didn't want to break them up more and drop it on the gas line. >> water surface was not affected because it's a distribution line. new details this morning about an unsolved murder that happened last month in vallejo, the family of aterriara

westbrook is taking to social media to help find her killer. a website has pictures of the 21-year-old with the words "please help find the coward who killed me." westbrook was shot while driving her car in the early morning hours of august 3rd. investigators have spent hours searching for witnesses and any useful surveillance video. a whole foods in oakland has cut ties with their security company after a violent incident involve one of their guards. we want to warn you the following photos may be hard to look at. a witness took photos immediately after the incident at the whole foods lake merritt. she said a security guard slammed a customer into the pillar and knocked him unconscious with a choke whole. yesterday whole foods fired the security company working with the firm and hired a new firm of private security based in concord. whole foods said we when will do

kayak yesterday afternoon when he dangled his foot in the water. a ten foot shark swam up and sank his teeth into his foot before swimming away. witnesses helped the kayaker get back to shore. he was airlifted to the hospital. believe it or not he's not seriously injured. the beach remains open. rescuers have been unable to find a blue whale that becamen tangled in a fishing net. the 75-foot whale was spotted friday off the coast of los angeles county. the netting is wrapped around a flipper and attached to what is believed to be a crab track. rescuers did attach a red buoy on the line friday to help keep track of the whale but they have not been able to locate it. marin county is trying to help residents visualize the effects of climate change. yesterday workers placed signs at stinson beach to show how much sea levels will rise by the end of the century. the data comes from a report by marin's coastal engineering

consultants. they say stinson beach will almost disappear and they hope the public will get more involved in planning for that. happening today, a 1 13-year-old girl whose amazing weight loss is inspires kids across the nation will be swimming from alcatraz from san francisco. she ana brown, who was profiled on "good morning america," weighed nearly 200 pounds when she was just 9 years old. the extra weight made it difficult to breathe, and bring anna soon became a target for bullies. her parents put her on a strict diet and exercise routine and the sixth grader lost 66 pounds. brianna dives into the bay at 7:00 this morning. >> the next time you walk through a south bay park you might hear this. ♪ >>. >> abc news was at the park in los gatos yesterday as county workers placed a baby grand in the middle of nature. anyone who feels like tickling the eyesoreries can stop and

but be very careful near the water. until tomorrow night, especially for south and southwest-facing beaches we will see strong rip currents, large shore breaks and sneaker waves. here's what's going on. we have high pressure building and as it builds over the next few days we will see summer warmth and numbers really climbing up, even into triple digits. highs today, the warmest spots will hit the mid-90s inland. antioch 95. san jose 87, even san francisco at 79. and check how mild it is at the beaches. 71 at half moon bay, 88 in santa cruz. but again, be careful with the dangerous surf right along the shore. if you are headed to the o.co coliseum, express cancer awareness day, you will need the sunscreen, hat, low 80s to start and upper 70s by the time the game ends. also, there's going to be a great time to head over to the milbrae art and wine festival. so it's going to be nice and bright all day long with

mid-80s, and more t-shirt weather here in shorts in the east bay. 83 in oakland to 85 in fremont. we are going to see mid-90s this time in some of the warmest locations like livermore and antioch. walnut creek hitting 90 today. if you are head head the sausalito art and wine festival, it will be a great day to head out there. plenty of sunshine and temperatures mainly in the 70s. climb up to near 80 by this afternoon and still comfortable by 5:00 this evening. also today, a lot of 90s through the central part of the state. chico 91. sacramento 92. fresno even 92. now in san francisco, here's an example of how warm it's going to get. i love these charts because it gives you an idea. average high is 70. today we will hit 79. check out monday, tuesday, wednesday. in the 80s. well over 10 degrees above average. and really not even cooling down for next weekend. we will still be above average all week long. so inland we are going to see
