allowed to go faster than 60 miles per hour just in case the heat causes problems with the traction so far minor delays are likely. >> people are trying to cope with the heat on the peninsula and the south bay. lyanne melendez joins us with more. >> being out here in the heat and with this drought remines us all of a fire danger all around us. the signs, as you can see behind me. let me take you to a place in the south bay where it was very hot today. there were lessons learned from yesterday's heat wave. the school district decided to send students home early today before the mid day heat started to settle in. >> when we were sitting in the classrooms it was miserable. everyone was just complaining about the heat. >> reporter: with the high temperatures and no air conditioning in most classes

one image. they crossed out and put hearts for more chinese. carolyn tyler joins us now with the arrest. >> reporter: cheryl, we are standing here where some of the graffiti has been covered over. the san francisco police department special hate crime unit investigated the case with the help of witnesses identifying the suspect who tonight is in the county jail. the graffiti with the words no more chinese popped up at six locations monday morning. investigators say this man 62-year-old was motivated by hate. the community quickly stepped in to erase the slurs and also to help investigators with tips. >> as you know the chinese community as well as the community in which these incidents happened are rallying around their chinese brothers and sisters. this is a very diverse city. we will not tolerate this type

of crime in the city. >> reporter: the graffiti shocked and hurt people who saw it. >> i don't know what we have done to deserve this. >> reporter: there was speculation this was the work of someone who lives in the neighborhood and that appears to be the case. one of the messages was sprayed right on the street outside the suspect's home. she has been charged with five felony hate crimes and five felony counts of vandalism. there is relief someone was quickly arrested. >> one thing to have your opinion but another to put it on a wall and make other people feel unsafe. >> reporter: although an arrest has been made police are looking for more information and video. in san francisco carolyn tyler, abc 7 news. lawyers for five defendants who were set to go on trial next month with raymond chou

surprised a judge today. his lawyers say he will not consider guilty plea but five of his co defendants did plead guilty today to various charges including money laundering selling contra band goods, gun possession. their attorneys say they have not cut a deal to testify against him. union city police are asking people to be on the lookout for a man posing as a comcast employee to get into homes. police say this man claimed to work for comcast and pushed his way into a house and sexual assault a woman who lives there. there was a similar incident involving a man wearing a comcast shirt trying to get into a house but police say the incidents do not seem related. this morning on snyder lane at medical center drive police say the girls who were on their way to school, one is in the

hospital with a broken leg and the other is released. the same intersection is the site of a collision that killed a toddler walking with her mother. officials are warning pedestrians and drivers to be more cautious. tonight we are learning about a man who was killed in the traffic accident monday. he was an east bay blues musician. he was a blues singer and gistarrest and a fixture at blues jams in the bay area and was crossing constitution way when a truck hit him. he used to perform in almeida and will feature a remembererance of his life and work. emotional moments today in sacramento as the controversial right to die bill moved one step closer to passage. assembly woman cheryl brown argued against the law telling lawmakers doctors don't know everything. her son was near death and doctors were urging her to let

punished. a san francisco tourist attraction has closed its doors at fishermen's wharf. the duck boat tours have been operating for years but no more. abc 7 news reporter freeman is live there tonight. many people have yet to learn the tours are out of business. >> reporter: the word is just circling through as one woman said this is not good news. a big player is gone but the remnants are still here. take a look at these duck prints on the sidewalk. if you were going to take a duck boat tour you would go right along and you would stand right here and you would wait for the duck boat but the duck boats are no more. if you want to know what happened to the popular duck boat tours you will get few answers at their garage. they will close to door on you. the company still runs motorized cable car tours but no one is saying much. >> there is no employees left in

those were appropriate adjectives as the company is out to continue to dominate the smart phone sector and to carve out a new niche. apple engineers and designers created the biggest ipad ever just over 12 inches along with something called apple pencil unleashing the ability for artists to do sprershpressure censored brush strokes. as the holiday season approaches apple put the biggest push behind two new iphones the 6 s and the 6 s plus. they may look like the existing 6 and 6 plus but have new 3 d touch technology so it expands touch commands. another new feature called live photo. the photo animates. however apple signals it is ready to make the long awaited push in tv. >> we believe the future of
