minutes nothing union city. the 40 stones behind me represent a life lost that day in a field in person headed here to the bay area but never made it to the destination. >> on 9/11, the terrorist attacks came before many were awake on the west coast. several officers from the navy recruiting district of san francisco gathered at the flight 93 memorial in union city. they held a moment of silence at 5:45 a.m. weapon the first plane hit the world trade center tower. then at 6:03, another moment of silence when the second plane hit. the military men and women shared what they were doing on that day because to them it is important to remember. >> the -- it hits home when i think about it. todd would never want to us forget. ♪ o say, does that star

>> a few hours player a big public ceremony, union city police department explorer has honorary presentation of the colors and opening remarks of the mayor. >> and one by one, the names of those 40 people on the large stones were read outloud many worked, lived or grew up in the bay area. their lives ended on lend but their memory and legacy continue in the hearts and minds of those who make a priority to never forget. >> where do i go in order to honor and celebrate this day that we have set aside? union city is the only place i am happy to be able to come again. to be part of the ceremony. >> the memorial was completed in december of 2007. since then a ceremony has been held each year on 9/11.

then, will increase. while we will drop the temperatures the comfort level will not drop but will lag behind. next week, though, we have an average with cool and nice and sunny warm afternoons but no humidity. look at the winds, 14 at sfo and 12 at half moon bay and they are blowing on shore at fairfield and that is why we are seeing the cooler conditions. plus we have the moisture coming up from what was hurricane linda and that is what will bring us the humidity as we head through the weekend. we will see what it does to the temperatures: we are still in the low-to-mid 90s and upper 90 and 100 from los gatos and gilroy. if you are headed to santa cruz, board way, at 90 degrees and this is the warmest dropping down into the 80s and 70s as our stage manager will treat you to a drink while he is down there. and half moon bay is 68 today. daly city is 69, and mid-70s in downtown south san francisco and low-to-mid 90 through the
