>> it's saturday, september 19th. thanks nor joining us. i'm chris nguyen. if you thought we were done with the heat, think about. here's meteorologist lisa argen tracking it on live doppler hd. hi, lisa. >> hi, chris. unfortunately that's true but right now we are clear and cool many temperatures not only in the 50s, with he have some 40s from the coast up to the north bay. it feels pretty good out there except the higher elevations, one reading in the low 70s. but that's well above. the warmer air will be mixings down to the surface quickly today. there's your 40. 56 had mountain view, we are talking 35 to 40-degree temperature climb today with numbers in the 70s from half moon bay, pacifica, daly city. 90 san jose, mid-90s inland, and unfortunately the numbers climb

another 5 degrees for sunday. we will have the rest of the weather coming up. chris. lisa, thank you. breaking overnight. one man is dead and another charges with dui after an accident on 580 in oakland. it happened just after midnight in the westbound lanes near the lakeshore off-ramp. the california highway patrol said a driver careened off a wall and went into a construction crew where caltrans crews were paving the roadway. a subcontractor working there was struck and thrown approximately 100 feet. he died at the scene. the driver of the car was not injured. this morning some encouraging news for residents of middletown who had been evacuated from their homes. they will be allowed back into their homes starting at noon today. evacuation orders have also been lifted for twin lakes and rancho sendero. some people have already returned home. and lake county officials say they will provide escorts today to areas where evacuation remain so people can check on their animals. this includes hidden valley lake, cobb and anderson springs.

wildcats and their cheer group will help. they are holding a toy drive at their home game in forestville from 11:00 30 to 4:00. the toys will i taken to the moose lodge evacuation center with where the players, all dressed in uniforms, will be handing out the gifts. >> lake county deputies arrested jeremiah guinness thursday night in lock lomen. >> a man was arrested thursday night, accused of stealing an s.u.v. from other evacuated. he was taken from an evacuated property in lower lake. they say he admitted to spray painting it black and white to try to make it look like a police car and filling it with several items stolen from the home. 6:04 is our time. the lake county animal shelter is using social media to try to find the owners of more than 200 pets found in the valley zone. a heartbreaking picture. workers want to reunite all the pets and owners, but some people won't be coming back because they no longer have the means to care for their pets. abandoned animals will eventually go up for adoption. jeast of stockton the butte fire is getting closer to full containment.

many people evacuated for more than a week or waking up in their homes. 63% containment is reported and 70,000 acres burned with more than 500 homes destroyed. firefighters are warning residents to watch out for damaged powerlines and loose, burned trees and rocks. a mountain lion cub is recovering after being badly burned in the butte fire. state fish and wildlife officials are nursing the 4-month-old cub back to health. volunteers found him monday while evacuating domesticated animals in the county. they named him fire claw because the pads of his clause were burned. his condition is still fragile. >> there are secondary infections and possibly a respiratory infection that can still set in so we monitor his prognosis daily. >> once fire claw is healthy, he will either be placed in a zoo or another educational facility. as a reminder, you can give where you live to help people affected by the western

heavy set, driving a green minivan. a man accused of spray painting racist graffiti last month could face a year up in jail. 46-year-old billy samuels was arrested august 30th. he was charged with vandalism with a hate crime enhancement. in another ugly incident, three men and a teenage girl has -- have been arrested with this fight outside levi's stadium following the football game with the vikings. two men have made bail. the teenager was released to her parents. all four face charges of felony assault. katie marzullo has the latest. >> santa clara police say the martinez is the man wearing number 80 in a video you see a vikings fan being attacked. we went to his apartment in san jose where at least one neighbor saw police arrest him thursday night. another neighbor said he doesn't know martinez but he's surprised he's in trouble. >> i've never seen any party or fighting or anything that would lead me to say that's the kind of guy that would do something like that. he kept to himself and quiet.

santa clara police also arrested 32-year-old felix chavira, and 33-year old juan arias and a teenage girl. they found them with the help of the video and tips from the public. >> this is very important to us. this behavior will not be tolerated at the stadium or santa clara. when it does happen, we assign investigators to it immediately and bring it to a quick resolution, as we did. >> 49er fans say the fight was a disgrace. >> what they did, i hope they ring them out. i really do. i mean, that was pretty sad what they did. they made us, 49er fans, look bad. >> none of this should be tolerated. prosecute them. >> the 35-year-old victim and an 18-year-old security hospital -- officer who was hurt while trying to help him are both expected to recover. in santa clara, abc7 news. a san francisco house where a mummified body was found has been sold. in april police found items

stacked slow to ceiling, including the corpse of an elderly woman. she died several years earlier, but her daughter kept living there. it nevertheless, the property has just sold for $1.5 million. happening today, an army of volunteers caring brooms and garbage bags will be cleaning up the coast and the event carries a bit more urgency this year. it's the 31st annual coastal cleanup day and there are many ways you can help clean up waterways, creeks and shoreline. organizers worry that winter storms will flush tons of garbage into the san francisco bay, as well as the pacific ocean. just bring gloves, a bag, and a willingness to clean. >> how will the weather be for those participating in the cleanup? >> the morning will be cool, 50s and 60s burks by 3:00 in the afternoon plenty of 70s from ocean beach and half moon bay. in the north bay we are talking upper 70s. right now walnut creek, it's

police have arrested a man suspected in a series of highway shootings that terrorized motorists in arizona. a s.w.a.t. team arrested the 21-year-old lesley merit at a phoenix area walmart. there have been 11 vehicles shot along interstate 10 since august 29th. investigators said forensic evidence connects him to the first four. they aren't sure if he's responsible for the others or if they are copycats. a little girl who was nameless for a month has a name this morning. she's two and a half-year-old bella bond, and she looks stunningly similar to baby doe. her mother is a suspect. she blames her boyfriend, saying he punched bella in the stomach. we have the break news in the case.

>> authorities say they finally have a name for this toddler, whose heartbreaking story captivated so many across the country, after this computer-generated composite photo of her was shared and viewed online more than 50 million times. it was back in june a woman found her little body in a trash bag at a beach at the boston harbor. at the time investigators had little to go on, so police turned to the public and social media sharing this sketch and pictures of her zebra blanket and pajama pants. finally a huge break with that tip. >> we were able to build the case in about 24 hours and solve it with that tip. >> under arrest and charged with murder is 35-year-old michael mccarthy. he's the boyfriend of bella's mother, michelle bond. >> happy second birthday! >> he posted this video on facebook at bella's second birthday celebration. the 40-year-old mother is now also behind bars, charged in connection with bella's death.

walk. it was personal for bochy. he had two stint inserted into his heart during spring training after experiencing heart problems. he said a checkup may have saved his life. >> just get checked out. it's what my doctor told me. bruce, you may die of something, but you come in and get looked at once once year, i will make e it's not the heart. we will keep it going. >> so far this year the heart walk has raised $3 million to fight heart disease and stroke. >> speeding dragon boats take to the water for the 20th annual san francisco international dragon boat festival on treasure you island. festivities get underway at 8:00 a.m. today. expect to see almost 140 dragon boat teams on the water this weekend. look at that video from previous years, it may have been a little cold out there, but that won't be the case today. >> no. last week of summer so we have that going for us. and cooler weather open the way as fall arrives.

to the day, but it will definitely be warm to hot out there. we will see records possibly tomorrow as east bay valleys climb to possibly 103, 104 by livermore, and then a cooler start as fall arrives. the cooler weather should settle in on tuesday. monday is kind of a day of trapsition. high pressure pushing down on the atmosphere, allowing for really no sea breeze at all. it's going to stay this way right on through tomorrow, into monday. but my monday we will begin to see some of the moisture from southern california move up. it's not really going to reach the bay area. with he will feel the humidity. and in combination with that low, that's going to be our cool down and the sea breeze will continue. but we are looking for plenty of record potentially breaking heed between now and then. southern california from san diego into monday afternoon in los angeles, they will see perhaps the rainfall and they have seen it really more so than the bay area. but we will be looking at temperatures today climbing in

front runner donald trump is at the front of a fierce debate. it comes after a face-to-face meeting with a supporter who made a controversial claim about president obama and muslims in america. some of his rivals are weighing in and hillary clinton is pulling no punches. abc news reporter david wright has more on the controversy from south carolina. >> reporter: donald trump is under fire for the way he handled this week. "we have a problem in this country. it's called muslims. we know our current president is one. you know he's not even an american. but anyway, we have training camps rolling where they want to kill us. that's my question. when can we get rid of them? >> we will be looking at a lot of different things and la lot of people are saying that and lot of people are saying bad things of happening out there. we will be look at that and plenty of other things. >> trump did not challenge the false claim president obama is muslim. his campaign tells abc news he had trouble hearing the

kidnapping a hoax. his attorney said the no contest plea is a strategic move. >> everything we are doing here is done with an eye to federal court. >> that strategic move, overlapping sentences if he's found guilty in the vallejo kidnapping case. it's a binding agreement that he will receive concurrent time for whatever time he gets in sacramento in the federal case. >> at most the dublin home invasion carries 11 years but the vallejo kidnapping could send him to prison much longer. >> it's decades, as in plural. >> monday he will be arraigned on a federal complaint for the vallejo kidnapping. his mental state will be a component of what happens in sacramento. plead not guilty. >> he said he will plead not guilty. >> the federal complaint is a charging document but he has not been indicted yet. after monday the authorities will have two weeks to indict him or release him. abc7 news.

a sick bat found in fremont has been tested positive for rabies. he was found in the 100 to 300 block of washington boulevard. the alameda county health department said anyone who came into contact with the bat could have been exposed to rabies. it's the 12th rabid bat found in almeda county this year. rabies is a fatal disease, but it cap be prevented if the exposed person or animal receives a set of shots as soon as possible after the exposure. the man who came up with "coliseum city" to keep the team in oakland has been dropped from the project. according to our media partner,

livermore, and a cooler start when fall arrives on wednesday. even tuesday will be quite pleasant. monday is a different story. we will still be he grossed with this big ridge of high pressure trying to drift away. between now and then, it's plenty of hot days, cool nights, and then we will be looking at some subtropical moisture bringing up the humidity. unfortunately not bringing the rainfall to our area. that's monday. highs today 91 yosemite, 94 for fresno with 88 los angeles and 75. it should be very nice in monterey. 93 in chico. so looking at the week ahead for hidden valley lake, cloverdale, in and around those areas where they are dealing with the smoke and the fire concerns, middletown 90 today. 93 tomorrow and monday. relief comes on tuesday. and looks pretty good on wednesday. temperatures becoming more seasonal throughout the week. so we are in the 50s right now. relative humidity at 65%. it will be dropping quickly today.

and the lack of wind is i guess one good factor but it's come out of the wrong direction, out of the north which helps temperatures climb quickly. then a puff of a see breeze by the afternoon. so we will look at half moon bay as a pick today to go for some very nice weather. 74 there with 75 tomorrow. average highs in the upper 60s. then it gets cool tuesday and wednesday with the onshore flow returning n and around the bay look at numbers in the low 90s from napa to santa rosa today. about 90 san jose, palo alto. and redwood city. we have 86 in san mateo, as well as oakland today with upper 80s in fremont. 74 in half moon bay. so looking at the ballpark, it's going to be a warm one out there with 77 this afternoon. but by 4:00 it's 80. the accuweather seven-day forecast looking at temperatures in the triple digit tomorrow with about 100 on monday, and finally getting some relief, saying good-bye to summer into
