shootout with officers that ended up killing the suspect. we are now being told this started at 8:30 last night. in a drive by shooting. that was in oakland. we first reported it as a carjacking and now we hear drive by shooting and the person in the wrong place at the wrong time was shot in the stomach. police say the shots were fired from a dodge and it was later spotted in pursuit around 2:30 a.m. the suspect abandoned the car on 580, tried to steal another car but failed and they got a description at that time and saw him walking on interstate 238. that is when shots were fired again. officers say because the interstate at 14th is a crime scene it will be shut down. >> the freeway closure is shut down by c.h.p. because we need do an evidence search, the suspect at one point fired his weapon while he was a pedestrians on the freeway at the c.h.p. officers. also, he hit a passing motorist
