live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> live doppler hd showing the wet pattern over the bay area sending a little rain our way. good morning, i am eric thomas here for kristen sze. >> i am cheryl jennings. the wet weather is bringing wet rain even outside the studio. matt keller captured this video showing a few drops on the sidewalk. here is our meteorologist. drew? >> starting to see the drops fall many more locations. you can see the drops on a plane window from sfo with a unique picture as the system moves across the bay area.

live doppler 7 hd along with satellite showing an active picture. shear a tour of the bay area, at street level over san francisco, light mist at this time and we had a lighter and more steady shower moving through pushing across the bay into the east bay. you notice the yellow around berkeley and the more steady and light rain, so we will time it out in nine minutes, moving toward oakland in half an hour and moving toward the peninsula the first locations that saw the drops at redwood city and inland east bay union city and pleasanton and light mist there. the wider view shows it is splitting the bay area in the middle, the north and south bay are dry right now. that could change in the next couple of hours were we will detail the evening commute with the full seven-day forecast in a few minutes. >> thank you, drew. the south bay is getting some rain. it caught people by surprise. we are joined from san jose. chris, we will take anything we

can get? >> right, cheryl. good morning to you. let me tell you, it has been drizzle off-and-on for 30 minutes in san jose. we are live at the guadalupe river park. behind me, we have players at the tennis courts right now trying to get in some rallying. a few minutes ago they were huddled at the net trying to decide if they should continue. for now it is a good call but hopefully they do not slide when we see more rain. now, i will show you the rain shot in 9 hour, in santa clara, you can see the raindrops conditioning down near levi stadium an erie feeling out this, as drivers made their way through the area. further up the peninsula, in san mateo, this was the scene on west 20th avenue in san mateo, not too far away, the san mateo bridge, and highway 92, drivers keeping their lights on and some of the wipers were on, too, but traffic is not affected.

once. >> a federal appeals court ruled thats which may not pay student athletes cash but the court said the ncaa needs to take better care of its players striking down a proposal to pay players town $5,000 and said a difference between offering student athletes education-related compensation and cash is a leash. it was filed by a cal basketball star and 19 others. the court ruled the ncaa may not use athletes' name or immaps in video games. >> brand new flags are flying at a post office in san francisco ten december line district. our reporter spent yesterday looking into complaints that the post office took months to replace two battered flags in spite of complaints. an employee was told the flags are on back order. they are now in place this morning. we want to thank chris for bringing this story to our

showing from the east bay hills starting out with sun, then clouds and plenty of gray as the rain moved in. here is drew tuma. >> this is from moments ago, from our exploritorium camera showing you we had drops on the lenses with ominous clouds happening over the bay area and the clouds are giving way to light scattered showers across the area. live doppler hd is showing you it is active looking with green and yellow on the screen. zooming in to street level i will show you the areas with the steady rain and the pockets of yellow south of danville along 680. we will move to the east and by purring and antioch got light-to-moderate rain moving most and we will take it to the peninsula, and this is a first stop i saw the drops early this morning and right new they are seeing light drops, too, and widening out the picture and i am tracking this line moving on

shore at this hour so we will time it out the next hour moving into pacifica in 28-30 minutes around daly city and 45 minutes in san francisco if the line holds together we will see light showers before, say, 12:30 a.m. now, our exploritorium camera is showing the clouds are's and san francisco is 59 and oakland is 58 and mountain view is 61 and 62 in san jose and half moon bay and the correct can be camera shows the roads are wet and temperature-wise, it is chilly. 60 in santa rosa, and 58 in napa, and 63 in concord and livermore is 64. live doppler 7 hd is hing you along with satellite the area of low pressure pushing the moisture on shore. well time owe the rest day as you go to 3:00 in the afternoon, it looks like we will see the light showers moving through parts of the bay area. at 5:00, this model has much of the rain out of here so the evening rush is likely featuring damp roads but no drops falling from the clouds. on thursday itself, we could
