year when the officer was accused of stealing. this scandal almost destroyed the group. >> form ere police officer mike evans was the treasurer of pride alliance. the group representing l.g.b.t. officers. >> january of 14, the pride alliance did an internal audit and noticed that there was some moneys missing. >> last august, pride's president told members the moneys had been stolen. in the group's board, filed a criminal complaint. evans resigned from the department. >> on july 1, a warrant was issued for felony grand theft and felony embezzlement. >> evans was extradited where he lives and booked at the county jail last night. the incident created a split. some felt evans should be pros cuted, others did not.
