company-wide layoffs starting monday. that's according to technology news out let a week after twitter co-founder jack dorsey with 4200 workers at the end of june. that's more than double the 2,000 employees in 2013. twitter is also apparently shelved plans to expand into a building on market street in san frarn sis cole. twitter officials say they will not comment on rumors. >> we are getting a look tonight at the impact of berkley's new study about the first in the country passed by voter ins november. the tax helped the city raise $375,000. researchers found retailers are passing almost 720% of soda tax to consumers. a 20 ounce soda that used to cost $1.75 is now $1.89.

>> high alert after discovering a pass that could destroy or at least badly damage the wine grape industry. inspected xxs found two live specimens of the glassy winged sharp shooter and shipments of plants from santa barbara and ventura counties last month. the sharp shooter can transmit bacteria which cuts off a plant's waterer supply. the pest is known to feed on more than 300 varieties of plants. >> all right, well, these little kriters like the winter in the golden state. monarch butterflies from the rockies to california. people have seen monarchs fluterring in places such as monarch grove and pacific groefr. if federal government is trying to figure out why we have seen fewer monarchs in recent years. >> is this winter's el nino weather phenomenon too big to fail? at this point, they say

the embarkadero has passed. it's a nice, warm day for fleet weerk festivities. let's take a look at doppler 7 hd and talk about what's to come for all of your weekend plans. we do have a little bit of fog closing in along the sonoma county coast. by tomorrow morning, things will look a little different than this. you see some of those smaller boats there. so a great day for sailing. 71 for san francisco, okayland, 77 degrees, morgan hill. low 8 0z. while it is a lovely day in santa cruz, you'll want to be careful as we told you earlier in the broadcast, there is a higher risk of rip currents coming up. i'll explain santa rosa, 82. it's 90 in livermore. very similar to yesterday. kgo roof camera showing you barely a breeze out on the bay. cooler tomorrow, higher humidity. we're looking at a warmer trend that begins surnd.

and it's going to get hot inland early next week. high pressure is weakening a bit. you see that moisture trail left over from the former hurricane oho. that is getting speared up towards alaska, british columbia area and canada where they will continue to see some rain and the winds are expected to increase. they've already seen a couple of inchesover rain across parts of alaska. wind advisories are going there through tomorrow morning. sticky and cooler fr us here on saturday as we'll get some of the high cloudiness. but the bigger threat from oho is the fact that it has general rated a long-period throb. so the entire coastline, sonoma county under a beach hazard statement. please be careful out there. strong risk of rip currents. especially with this nice weather it's hard not to head to the coach. 80s inland, brighter and
