you can see there that vta light rail train stopped since 4:30 this afternoon. you can see video shah shows the scene here at about 4:30 this afternoon that that pedestrian was hit and an hour later the body was pulled from beneath the train. we're expecting a spokesperson to talk to us and hopefully we'll learn more. there are a number of people that say they were working out or coming home, or headed home, and stopped to look and they tell me there have been accidents here in the past, that this is a precarious area. we know vta set up a bus bridge for affected passengers on this train and need to get home at

frizy hair. a dozen friends paid respects this morning. >> we said our prayers for everyone who was and is affected by this. the group formed a semi circle marking where he was found shot to death, still hanging on to his dog's leash. he returned to the area to take care of his wife, who was being treated for cancer. a man is accused of setting halloween costumes on fire inside of a walmart this afternoon at the walmart on hesperian boulevard. police say the suspect bought a bottle of lighter fluid.

. the san jose man accused of being a serial cat killer appeared in court today. also in court, dozens of cat lovers outraged by the crime. vic lee was the first to report about the suspected cat thief two weeks ago and joins us live from san jose with the developments. vic? >> reporter: lots of people came holding pictures of their cats that went missing or found dead. and they wanted to send this serious message to the judge, that this was a serious crime. the judge rejected a motion to release the suspect but imposed bail at $75,000, a higher scheduled bay than this type of crime. robert farmer, on of a police captain was charged with animal cruelty and other related

crimes. police arrested the 24-year-old transient on thursday, sleeping in his car, with a dead cat. police say he matched the description of the catnapper in this video. he snatched go go the cat perfect a home last month. after abc7 news began reporting on the possibility of the cab abductor, other neighbors told us they also had cats found dead of blunt trauma force. this cat was wrapped in plastic. the prosecutor said he'd been abducting then hurting and killing cats since september. >> the victims that mr. farmer targeted were speechless victims. they couldn't help us with the investigation. >> reporter: one cat owner was forced to leave when objecting loudly to a motion to release farmer on his own recognizance.

sometimes, you just need to vent. that is what one tenant of the san francisco housing authority did. >> this is unbelievable. truly. the woman lives in the holly court public house proing jekts near san francisco's vernal heights park. it's the oldest public housing project west of the mississippi. so it's no surprise the building has issues. she describes what she woke up to in the middle of the night. >> like this. like a water fall. >> reporter: water gushed out of a hose leading into her washing machine. she wasn't laughing the night her apartment flooded at 2:00 a.m. >> my house is flooded with water. >> reporter: this is video she shot that night, water in every room of the house. she says the water line on this spot shows how high it came.

next morning, she shot this video and says water leaked through the floor, soaking the ceiling of the unit below her. she called the city in july's 311 request line. she couldn't shut off hot water going into the tub. 311 confirmed she called them first july 17th, then, the 28th and again, on august 7th. the water ran 24 hours per day, two months, until the pressure build up so much, it backed up through the pipes and gushed out her washing machine hose. >> i reported to maintenance, 311 several times. and nothing was done until the flood. >> reporter: maintenance shut off the water and she contacted 7 on your side. >> i called 7 on my side was nobody was on my house.
