abc7 news begins with breaking news. the breaking news is in san jose where police are investigating a material car crash that killed three people and injured one pore. >> our reporter janet o is at john at 22nd and santa clara. police are still there, right, janet? >> that is right.

crime scene investigators are here doing their work. police are investigating what load up to the deadly crash that has parts of westbound santa clara street shut down for two blocks. three are dead. a fourth is in critical condition. police are now confirming all of the people involved are juveniles all riding in one car. i will show you the video we shot earlier the honda accord that was towed away from the scene was damaged and police say it took down a light pole and slammed into a tree. witnesses say two cards were racing down santa clara at high speeds much faster than the posted speed limit of 30 miles per hour. a female and male were pronounced dead at the scene and a third male pronounced dead at the hospital. the fourth male is now in critical condition. the driver of the second car is presumed to be okay. police say that person took off and they now want to speak to the driver to find out more information exactly what led up to the crash.

shootings. our reporter is at the marin county superior courthouse. amy? >> this morning, we will have an upclose look at the accused killers. here are the most recent or the best images we have of them right now. that is their mug shots. these three will appear before a marin county judge for the purse time this morning. they will face a variety of charges including robbery, vehicle theft, and, of course, murder. it is now being reported that 23 -year-old morrison haze lampley was shooter. he was on probation and paw relative -- parole for previous offenses. the gun that was used in the murder was stolen of audrey carey and steve carter. police tell "san francisco chronicle" the gun was stolen from an unlocked truck parked west of fisher man - wharf and was inside a, althoughed case in a bag. according to the "san francisco chronicle" the owner waited 12 hours before reporting the theft to police who immediately

scouted the area looking for surveillance video or clues that could lead them to the gun. necessity say it was recovered when the three were arrested last week in poverty land. they are eligible for the death penalty the district attorney in marin county has not said if he will seek that penalty. >> thanks. fish and wildlife officials are trying to figure why hundreds of fishing dying in clear lake. according to the "resolution democrat," they found three miles apart at the south end of the lake this month. environment scientists suspect a chemical spill possibly petroleum based killed the fish. >> if you take golden gate transit you could find posters part of a campaign to use humor to mind your manners showing people behaving badly including eating and smoking with #

>> santa close, berkeley, san jose and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. >> good morning, a look outside at a beautiful shot out this and we will see and warmer than normal temperatures this morning. yes, another warm day ahead. all cross the bay area. meteorologist mike nicco will have more details in a bit. >> a man who tried to kidnap a young girl in san francisco is under arrest. it happened open friday near l salle avenue in hunter point. a 9-year-old was walking to girl and 25-year-old albert brown grabbed her by the collar and pulled her to a street much the girl screamed and was able to break free from the grasp. the officer said this could have been a very terrible situation.

>> the breaking news is in san jose. three people are dead. one person is in critical condition. there were two cars that crashed. >> we will get to abc7 news reporter near 101. janet? >> good morning, matt. this is the aftermath of the tragic overnight crash. you can see utility company is out here trying to fix the light poll and wrap up their work. the overnight crash could have been avoided. alcohol is not believed a factor. but speed is. witnesses say they saw two cars racing down santa clara street in downtown san jose around 11 o'clock p.m. yesterday. one of the two cars the honda accord was towed away and badly damaged taking down a light pole and slammed into a tree. all four people in the honda accord of teens. one female and one male died at the scene and a third was

and accident free. how is the weather? mike? good morning, everyone, on this hump day you can see the winds are light. and variable. but fairfield is 16. we had fog rolling across the golden gate bridge and the east bay hills camera just to the right of our screen we look down on berkeley so watch out at richmond and san rafael bridge you could have that. we are warmer this morning upper 50s to mid-60s and we will not be so warm this afternoon with the day planner showing the clouds gathering and a thunderstorm is possible. that is around the monterey bay and south. we will top out in the 70s along the coast and mid-80s around the bay and 90 inland. >> breaking overnight, two small earthquakes rats eled the san ramon area this morning. a 2.6 magnitude earthquake at 3:22 and then a 2.9 magnitude earthquake at 3:58. according to the

survey there was no damage from either. >> new detail on a fire in marin county. cries cleared the scene after two separate fires grew into one fire. you can see the flames were large. fire started at mission avenue on the south end of boyd memorial park. it grew to three acres. it floatened one home north of the marina academy. >> san jose police are urging the public to look out for this truck. in was a deadly hit and run crash. the driver ran over a man and took off at 7:00. investigators hope the security camera footage from the bakery will help them fine the driver caught on camera half an hour before the accident. the victim has not been identified. police have not named the suspect, either, but they describe the truck as white full-sized ford with dark rims and tinted grass.

>> the trio accused of killing a yoga instructor and canadian backpack will be arraigned with lila scott allgood and sean michael angold and morrison haze lampley in court this morning. morrison haze lampley was the gunman in both kill insurance and all three are charged with multiple murders with special circumstances making the death penalty a possibility. amy hollyfield will join us from the courthouse where proceedings will begin in a few hours. >> san francisco police say they are investigating a related insurance de, a suicide and an assault that took place at a downtown hotel. police say a 26-year-old new yorker in town for a medical convention committed suicide on sunday jumping from the roof of the hotel. hours later a hotel worker reported missing we was found in a penthouse at the hotel suffering from life threatening injuries. the officers say they found evidence linking the assault to the suicide.

>> work is underway to protect several south bay communities from flooding during the storms. the san francisco creek has been a concern for people living in palo alto and east palo alto and menlo park because past storms cause major flooding. local authorities have taken steps to protect residents living along the creek but removing vegetation and reinforcing the creek banks and more safety measures are in the works such as a website to predict creek flows and two hour flood warning. >> california's energy regulators say try not to use too much electricity today because there is so of demand yesterday that they had to issue a power use warning, running california power grid. the agency said demand exceeded the capacity to produce power for a couple hours and the alert finally ended at 9:30 last night >> there is extreme fire damage caused by the hot water and the california vegetation is dry and
