of southern california coast. you get the heating from the sun and those thunderstorms are firing up. radar estimates of rape fall in the area, anywhere from one to two impbls. the national weather service is now tweeting rain of four to six inches an hour. some very intense rain. flash flood warnings, and even a severe thunderstorm warning with parts of southern california where they've seen numerous reports of flooding, hail and some heavy rain. you take a look at what aes happening here in the bay area. we do have some moisture moving westward from the east. a few drops falling, sprinkles, maybe a light shower. as you take a look at richaoich richmond, sunset district.

so this system is responsen for the moisture that you're seeing. details are coming um. >> one of the busiest areas of downtown. >> just after noon, police shot a man who jumped an officer and grabbed the officer's gun. these pictures are from our abc 7 now community at the area that closed down just minutes after it happened. >> market and 8th streets. sky 7 hd shows us that area was closed for about two hours. abc 7 news reporter wayne friedman spoke with san francisco's police chief about how all of this started. wayne?

>> reporter: san francisco's fifth fatal shooting. a worker complained about a man tossing bottles in the street. it did not go well when police tried to arrest him. >> a a violent struggle ensued. >> then, what would be a fatal mood. >> he said he's getting my gun. he's got my gun, shoot him. >> police found two bullet casings on the street. the suspect, who is described as a hispanic male in his 20s, died at the scene. two of three officers went to local hospitals with facial injuries. >> they're both very senior officers and they're both sergeants. >> 3:00 p.m. after the shooting, officers began pulling out their police tape just in time for rush hour and for jeffrey white who couldn't go anywhere parked inside the crime scene. >> it's the city, things happen.

>> and for those of you who found out through push alerts found out about the street closure at 23 this afternoon. you can get breaking news alerts right on your phone, your tablet or the apple watch by downloading to the app store. >> a nationwide human trafficking sting resulted in the rescues of six bay area children today. the f.b.i. arrested agt suspecteds accused of selling the children for sex. and 52 men who paid to have sex with kids during that period of time. abc 7 news reporter vick lee joins us live in the news room with just-released details on last week's sting. >> among those rescued, we're told, was a 16-year-old girl. and she's been missing for almost a month now. i've been embedded with the f.b.i. and local police in previous years when they've launched of ration cross country. and i can tell you that they take their mission seriously. there's a whole lot of local

police involved, the f.b.i. and district attorneys from various counties, alameda county district attorney for one takes this very serious. the alameda county has one of the largest human trafficking operations where they pros cute a lot of johns and pimps, as well. they've made a lot of arrests in one week of johns and pimps and rescued a lot of underage females and boys, as well. so we're going to give you all of those details at 6:00 tonight. >> what a story. thank you so much. we're happening now. a big sink hole creating new problems. those repairs will not be completed until tuesday. crews have been out working all day. take a look at the view from sky 7 hd.

well, amazon is hiring for a new brick and mortar store. the online retail giant is posting listings for asis tant managers. this is for a new amazon pick-up point in berkley. it's part of the seattle company's university focus campus pick up program. amazon rolled it out in february. the jobs will start in october, this, according to the job postings. >> a three and a half year decline for sales for if personal computer.
