>> now at 11:00, a contagious bacteria sickening diners at a south bay restaurant is spreading to people who never ate there. the woman who ate the contaminated seafood is telling her about her trip to the er. >> i started feeling stomach cramping and more symptoms later on in the night like severe shaking. >> sounds horrible. good evening. i'm larry beil in for dan ashley. >> i'm uh ma you dates. i'm ama daetz. we go now to san jose with our developing story. janet? >> alicia ingram was discharged from the hospital. many others are still hospitalized. meantime, the health department is concerned that the cases are are increasing from those who dined to others who came in contact with sick patients.

>> i wanted a shrimp taco. >> she had no idea tay her craving would land her in the hospital. >> i was praying oh god please. help me do this. >> it wasn't until she collapsed in the hallway that her family rushed her to the emergency room . any later and she would have been in the icu. >> it got my heart rate back to normal and ply blood pressure -- and my blood pressure up. >> she was one of dozens suckenned after eating in downtown san jose. some of the unsuspecting diners passed the infection to friends and family. 80 cases have now been reported. the restaurant is expected to be closed for several days while health officials trace the source of the contamination. >> and we are looking at all possible -- possibilities. >> but they believe someone preparing the food most likely spread the bacteria. stool samples from employees will be collected and tested. elisa's parents want answers

and they want the owner to be held accountable. >> i was so angry. if anything for their reputation you would think they would say okay we are going to check into this. it was like -- he is not being compliant. >> they are doing what they can to protect themselves by routinely washing their hands while alicia recovers at home. in san jose, janet o. janet oh. >> we have signs of possible infection linked on our report. >> new at 11:00, two motorcycles crashed in the east bay and one person was killed. investigators tell us one of the motorcycles rear-ended the other at harbor street and gar so yaw avenue at 7:15. one of the motorcyclists was pronounce had dead and the other has a broken arm. >> oakland police are searching for two drivers who hit a man who was swinging a machete on international boulevard yesterday. this is a picture of one of the cars police are looking for. it is a red sedan. the car struck the 25-year-old

man intentionally as he swung a giant blade around. the car backed up and hit the man again. police are also after a white sedan that hit the man as well. both drivers face assault with a deadly weapon. the man who was struck suffered only minor injuries. >> they are wondering about the possible shoulder surfing after two men rip had off atm users. they were arrested last month suspected of taking money from other people's accounts at the atms at the bank of america. police believe catrell is a shoulder surfer. it is somebody who watches if an atm will still dispense cash when they leave. parents sounded off of a an on field incident regarding a marching band and a football team. we go live to pitsford high

school. >> it happened between pittsburgh -- pits ford and dear valley. >> emotions are running high four days after the football game. parents of the high school marching band say their parents were pushed and shoved by football players. he says his stepdaughter is among the band members roughed up. >> she had a swollen ankle the size of a softball. she spent the weekend icing it down and taking it easy. >> parents say the confrontation was on the football field where they got out of the way of the national performance. there was tension even before both sides went on the field. parents claiming the players pushed and showed band mbs who were lining up in the parking lot. >> there were mouth pieces so yes there was contact. >> the situation was regrettable , but it is too soon to cast any blame. the deer valley players were confused mainly as to why

their warm up time was cut short. deer valley parents say their children should be given the benefit of the doubt. >> i am really hurt. the accusations and the talk of deer valley being thugs and not honoring the national anthem. >> both school districts are investigating, students, coaches, staff members and anyone who may have played a role is being questioned. lilian kim, abc7 news. >> we have continuing news on a road hazard. we can see cal trans inspectors at an oakland overpass where fencing fell on a freeway below. debris fell on 10 cars on 880. several drivers had minor injuries and no one was seriously hurt. >> i thought it was an earthquake. i was terrified that the overpass would come down on moo moo -- down on me. >> they have a plan to replace it over the next two years.

>> road crews are almost finished repairing a giant sinkhole in union city. a portion of alvarado boulevard and new haven street caved in on wednesday. one lane in each direction will re-open at 7:00 tomorrow morning. sky 7hd is showing us what the sinkhole looks like now. the 35 by 40-foot crater has been filled in and workers paved the road with freshes asphalt today. oakland taking another step toward being bike friendly. they build dedicated bike lanes between gene treat and el wood street. there is opposition. alan wang tells us who is against the plan? >> the city of oakland says grand avenue is one of the most dangerous roads for cyclists in the city. >> the cars are moving in front and you have to move around. you never know if someone is going to hit you from the side. >> currently they have two lanes in each direction with diagonal parking.

the city plan would add dedicated bike lanes on both sides from elwood avenue to gene street. it would reduce to one lane for cars in each direction with a turping lane in the middle. >> grand lakes theater owner is should upset that he spelled out stop the insane scheme to reduce busy grand avenue to only one lane on his marquis. they say drivers are waiting for cars to pull out of the parking spaces will cause long delays. >> we will come and encounter the traffic gridlock that is certain to occur at busy times. and they won't come back. >> but the mayor believes the bike lanes will make the district more attractive. >> improving our bike and walk ability is an important part of increasing economic development as wl as creating a great -- as wl as creating a great quality of life. >> consisting of four councilmembers they passed the proposal and tonight the full council approved it.

san mateo and all of the bay area, this is abc7 news. >> a new york city police officer died after he was shot in the head this evening. detectives say randolph holder was part of a group of officers searching for a robbery suspect in harlem. gunfire started when the officers confronted the man riding a bicycle on a path along the east river. >> and tonight they did what any other officer from the nypd does, he ran toward danger. >> officers captured suspect who was expected to survive. holder is the fourth officer murdered in the last 11 months. >> congressman paul ryan announced he would run for speaker of the house, but only if his fellow republicans embraced him as their consensus choice. they forced the current speaker john boehner to retire. he urged capitol hill republicans to you night during a -- to unite during a private meeting this evening.

>> the people we serve, they do not feel that we are delivering on the job they hired us to do. we have become the problem. if my colleague can trust me to be the sprieker, i want -- the speaker, then i want to be the solution. a major medical shift could affect millions of women and when they get mammograms. the american cancer society changed the recommendation saying women should start having mammograms at the age of 45 instead of 40. the move is dividing the medical community. >> all of us have been told that early detection saves lives. unfortunately the evidence doesn't bear out. there are limited benefits and significant harm. >> the new guideline is based on evidence that they can produce false po positives in younger women leading to unnecessary treatment.

>> how does a quarter million dollars sound for a weekend stay during a posh hotel during super bowl 50. that's how much one hotel is charging during the big game which is a little more than three and a half months away. here is abc7 news anchor. >> if you don't already have a super bowl reservation at the fairmont in san francisco, you won't get one. it has been sold out of rooms for months. >> it is amazing. you can see all the way down the bay. >> what is available? the room that comes with a pool table and a helicopter to take you to levi stadium. >> we are in the library right now. the penthouse is built as a residence on top of the fairmont hotel. >> we are trying to get $250,000 for a four-day minimum stay. >> the normally $18,000 view is more than triple the

>> then speaking of cheap is that what you are trying to say? >> hi, larry and uh paw. larry and ama. pretty clear conditions and the temperatures are falling in some spots like san ramon 59 degrees. we have 50s in the north bay. half moon bay down to 50 degrees. those are going to be some of the spots that will be the coolest first thing in the morning. expect the areas down to the 40s. the dry fall pattern is through saturday. there is a slight chance of showers on sunday and another chance in about a week. so i am going to show you what has developed and what has changed since we last spoke. high pressure is in control of our weather. we saw the upper 60s to the upper 80s. watch what happens on sunday morning and an area of low pressure is just off the northern california coast and we will bring in moisture. there is a slight chance of a few showers developing on

sunday afternoon. stay tuned for that. i wouldn't change weekend plans. there is another opportunity for seeing rain and that will come the middle of next week. where will it come from? this hurricane which is a powerful category 4 hurricane in the pacific. olaf is packing maximum sustained winds of 145 miles an hour. it is tracking west northwest at 10. hawaii will get some pretty big waves out of this of the the system is going to weaken and move northeastward. the left over moisture could get drawn up with this area of low pressure and that brings in the possibility of some rain next week. that's the cloud cover. wednesday the 28th it looks pretty wet still and model to model run consistency showing the possibility of rain. stay tuned on that one as well. the coolest spots will show some signs of autumn with upper 40s and north bay valleys along the coastline. the rest of you in the 50s. if you walk to bart or want to

walk to -- the sweaters may come in handy. they can lose that 84 gilroy and sunnyvale, san jose and on the peninsula, a warm day, low 80s redwood city, palo alto, 71 in pacifica and 79 in san mateo. looks like a little fog will return for the afternoon. daly city 73 and downtown san francisco 76. north bay 76 degrees and sausalito, upper 60s to low 70s coast side. san rafael and napa, 84, 82 vallejo and say the -- 85 in santa roughy saw. newark 81, innd la spots and 84 fairfield and 86 livermore. the accu-weather seven-day forecast will hang on to the fall warmth for a few days. the weekend, part is dry. sunday slight chance of showers. we cloud it back up on tuesday as you look at the accu-weather seven-day forecast. could be more rain next wednesday. ama and larry we have to wait and see. at least there are a couple of opportunities for rain.
