>> announcer: live, from the kgo tv broadcast center, this is abc 7 news. >> good afternoon, everybody. i'm larry beal. >> and i'm alma dates. a happy reunion was held this afternoon after their 8-year-old autistic son disappeared from school. abc 7 news reporter vick lee is live with the story. vick? >> reporter: well, first of all, thank goodness the boy was returned safe. now, that is where the boy was -- the 8-year-old, when he suddenly ran off the field, that's the soccer field of stone gray elementary school. now, both his father and the superintendent say he's one fast kid. in fact, he probably ought to be on the track team.

never t nevertheless, everyone is happy. >> we're very glad to have our son back. >> there were lots of hugs when police brought the 8-year-old boy and his brother back to school. at the request of the boy's father, we are not using his name or picture. we caught up with steve white at a parking lot near where police found his son. white says his son apparently got angry and dashed off the soccer field at about 10:30 this morning during p.e. >> there was no way to catch up with him. once he got into the neighborhood, it was very difficult to find him. >> the boy likes to run and hide. heyward pligs and fire and sheriff's dep tiffs began searching the area. sky 7 hd was overhead. about three hours later, police located him at mcdonalds. >> he did surface when he became

hungry. he went back to get a happy meal. so we at least know he's in good spirts. >> his father was still wond wondering how he got to where he did. >> we don't know how he managed to walk two miles without being seen. >> it was a happy ending. complete with a mcdonalds happy meal. >> the politics not after a month of speculation. joe biden has made a decision and he's out. >> the vice president says he will not run for president. abc news reporter is live from washington with the details. kenneth? >> today, we learned that vice president joe biden would not run for president. biden says he and his family were actually ready to jump into the race, but it was just too late.

>> donald trump said biden made the correct decision. personally, i'd rather run against hillary because her record is so bad. the vp not in the race but vowing to speak out on the issues. >> i will not be silent. and more reaction to biden's announcement poured in. they said it was greatful for the su porlters. and bernie sanders thanked biden for his lifelong public service. >> now, we just heard him say i will not be silent. he's gone on the attack in the past. if that's the role you've expected him to play for the democrats now? >> well, larry, it remains to be seen. but you better believe joe biden will definitely be in this race and play some role in this race to help a democrat get elected to the white house. he said he would not remain silent. when joe biden says he won't remain silent, you better believe him. >> and, an abc news poll shows biden's decision not to run.

mplts breaking news in san flannel sis cole. police are looking for at least two people who ran away from officers after the end of a police chase at interstate 280 and maraposa street. offices are searching the streets for the suspect. officers are being very careful here because they tell us the suspecteds may be link today a homicide. we'll bring you updates as they happen right here and on twitter. >> a sang francisco woman is taking on the city. she says her dove died because of a common pesticide the city uses in local parks.

the sheriff's office posted this photo this morning showing brett and his black lab safe and sound with brett's dog in willis. bowman walked away from his house about 4:30 this an noon. >> victims of some of the recent wild fires that devastated northern california communities are getting some much needed financial help from wells fargo customers. an oversized $300,000 check was deposited. those customers doe nated so much, they set a company record. this california company set a brand new record. they raised 300,000 additional dollars towards the fire.

of many mexico, just south of alcapulco. it's expected to strengthen to a category two hurricane. much of central and central mexico is going to hit. and turning eastward a built as it exits sunday morning. let's move back up to the bay area where our next chance of rain is probably sunday. saturday an noon, notice the increasing clouds. there's a slight chance of showers to work our way through the bay area on sunday. and then skip ahead to tuesday. looking longer range. it looks like a greater chance of rainfall here in the bay area. so a couple of chances of wet weather over the next several days.
