fight type 1 diabetes. each year nearly a million people join the walk all over the country and the funds raised for each event will support research to find treatments and a cure. the three-mile walk starts at 11:00 this morning at bay and laguna streets in san francisco. pretty good weather, lisa? >> yeah. a lot of cloud cover in advance of a weak cold front. moisture is limited. if you see anything at all it should be a few light sprinkles and really focused in the north bay. here's a look at live doppler hd. there's a little moisture offshore but you are noticing the low clouds, the high clouds in advance of the system. but it will clear out and it will get into a sunnier, second half of the day. as we widen the view you will notice the area of low pressure to the north of us. once gone all the rain pushing up into the pacific northwest. there is yet another system that's going to split. some of the moisture will be to the north, some to the south. that's the system we've been

talking about for days. first things first as we go into the pacific. there is that hurricane that tips to weaken. right now it's just a category 1. ollav with winds of 90 miles per hour. gusts to 115. and the track of this system continues to push towards the coast. and then some of the moisture getting caught up in this system. so we will get back to that in a minute. but we are looking at some very, very heavy rain. with five inches yesterday in parts of texas and an inch today. we are looking at, in fact, more flooding rains for not only texas, but louisiana and into mississippi. if we go further into your monday's forecast we are looking at locally anywhere from 8 to 12 inches of rain here. definitely it's getting worse in some spots. back home it's very quiet. we are looking at cloud cover not creating problems in terms

of visibility. 58 degrees. and milder from oakland to fran. mountain view 59. and we are looking at 59 half moon bay and a lack from our sutro tower camera. the vantage point here with the temperatures on the mild side with 62 in livermore, 58 by the delta, and 51 in santa rosa. the exploratorium camera looking pretty good with a little bit of drizzle possible throughout the morning hours particularly in the north bay a dryer and sunnier afternoon and the next system is slated to arrive late tuesday into wednesday. the models not agreeing with the moisture on this one. but as we get back to the satellite imagery you see the cloud cover pushing into the central coast and southern california. behind it we will warm up before the next system heads our way on wednesday. here's a look at the rest of today from 5:00 in the morning, the cloud cover, maybe a few areas of drizzle. 2:00, 3:00 in the average we are sunnier. we will look for the system on

nothing too exciting. 55 in san ramon right now. 54 in novato. it was much cooler yesterday morning. with the warmer start and cloud cover early, we will be talking about a sunnier, but slightly cooler finish today. 10 degrees warmer in livermore this hour. way it will play out is like this. the cloud cover, and then you see we clear out. we will talk about warmer weather to start the work week come up. carolyn. >> thank you. much. the texas heart lapped is under flash flood watch this morning with remnants of patterson on the move, dumping more rain across a region already saturated from earlier storms. abc news reporter elizabeth herr is joining us live in houston with the latest. good morning, elizabeth. >> carolyn, good morning to you. and as expected, some areas were hit harder than others while here in houston all eyes right now are on the bayous and creeks, as you noted.

and as you notice the flash flood watches are still in effect. >> more rain soaking parts of texas, already drenched. in san antonio to dallas, floodwaters are inundating streets, stalling cars, and, of course, lead to go dramatic rescue after rescue. >> i was just hoping not to drown or fall because the current was flowing pretty hard. >> we have our hazardous materials experts monitoring the scene. >> crews are using this to control diesel spilling from a derailed train south of dallas. >> we know there will be extreme damage to the roadways throughout the county. >> and as the rain took out roadways, officials are relying on txdot trucks and civilians to navigate flooded streets. in harris county, strong winds in the area now being blamed for tearing down fences, blhwing off roofs and littering the streets with debris. >> the whole house started to

drizzle. best chance this the north bay throughout the early hours. and then by the around we are dryer, and sunnier. next system arrives on wednesday. and it's not looking that promising in terms of rainfall amounts. so as we continue to look at this loop right now, you will notice all the cloud cover from san francisco southward into los angeles. it will be a cloudy day for most. rain chances come into the mountains later on in the around and that's where we will get the lift and perhaps more in terms of precip. so very moisture-limited. it's a weak front. the next few hours really paints that picture, as you notice the drop staying north of the north bay. and then here we are in the average where things clear on out nicely. so in terms of the cloud cover, we have it from the north to the south with numbers a little cooler in l.a. 86. 72 in yosemite with 63 and average rain or evening rain for the mountains. tuesday 5:00 we are cloudy. then here comes the moisture. by 11:00 a peace of it through the north bay.

san francisco. and then by wednesday it's out of here. temperatures ranging from the 70s today for most. 70s in the north bay from santa rosa up toward vallejo. 74 fremont with upper 70s inly more and morgan hill. the accuweather seven day forecast, cooler today. a cloudier, milder start, maybe some drizzle. the afternoon warm are, sunnier for tomorrow. tuesday will cloud up. another chance of showers on wednesday. favoring the north bay. maybe a quarter inch rain in the wettest locks. otherwise not very much the all. then looking sunnier and warmer, pretty nice but dry for halloween. yeah, halloween is probably going to be off the hook. >> saturday night, yeah. >> thank you, lisa. bay area researchers are trying to perfect a technology that uses electricity in the brain to fight debilitating diseases. as cheryl jennings discovered, it could soon become much more effective.
