spencer, it's heading our way. >> it is. light showers and a sprinkle here in san francisco. we've seen light sprinkles reaching from southern marin county into san francisco and it's pushing eastward, it appears rain may be on the way behind this wave of sprinkles. we have a beach hazard statement to tell you about in effect from late tonight through thursday evening to the north bay coast down to monterey bay. there could be large breakers and as dan mentioned we have higher than normal tides and we'll continue to have those high tides throughout the end of the week this, is a look at the high tides expected at the golden gate there and there are the times of the day. it does bring a possibility of

>> they better be ready. you know new orleans is going to be ready. we've been here several hours. around 3:00 this afternoon, the championship banner and rehearsal. i have to tell you, i was getting chills during the rehearsal so it's going to be so emotional tonight. for the warriors. the players and management. and fans that is a little bit of a concern because after you go through all of the celebrations and everybody gets rings then, you get ready to play a game. now, luke walton is going to be the head coach tonight because steve kerr is on a leave of absence, dealing with back issues over the summer. this is luke's big moment. >> reporter: luke is a head coach. >> i feel like the real coach now. yeah. i mean, it's -- it has to be that way.

now, you might be one of the people who felt three earthquakes in the san ramone earthquake. all three took place within 15 minutes of each other today. 350 small quakes rattled alamo in 1990. residents of south san francisco will go to the polls to consider raising sales tax from 9% to 9.5%. there is some push back by voters. david louie is live in south san francisco. david? >> just about every city has a to do list and

asked to raise sales tax. tacking on the sales tax will generate about $7 million that will fund street repairs to a possible replacement for police department headquarters. that revenue could allow bonds, however, opponents worry about city managers over the 30 year life of the tax. >> too long. too much. and in five years a new team, new administration. and that we don't know where this money will be spent. >> if appropriated to the right whatever they're going to use it for, and there is accountability, i think it would -- i can trust them. >> he says residents won't be

bearing this alone. >> 50% of the total comes from south san francisco residents. and business to business sales tax will complete >> do you think you should be helping to pay for improvements? >> no. we don't live here. >> the city argues nonresident employees benefit and should help to pay for them. in south san francisco, david louie, abc7 news. >> we have new details on the human skull that was found two weeks ago in the hills around los gatos. sheriff investigators returned to the scene to search for more clues. volunteers also joined the search. the investigation continues. and tonight we're hearing from first responders as they arrived

on the scene of a fatal domestic violence incident in fairfield over the weekend. listen as they describe the situation. >> this is very unusual. >> the 45-year-old man would later die from stab wounds. it was his 10-year-old stepson accused of killing hip, trying to protect his mother. this happened sunday morning near overture lane and duet drive. >> people in this neighborhood recall the arguments between the man and his wife, that is why no one was surprised when police showed up. they were alarmed to find out the 45-year-old had been stabbed by his 10-year-old stepson. >> it's a sad situation. and unfortunately, children

witnessing domestic violence, sounds like he was afraid for his mom's safety at that time. >> reporter: police decided not to detain the 10-year-old. his stepfather had a history of domestic violence. in december, 2013 he was arrested on charges of corporal injury to spouse, then, in october, 2014, for battery against his wife. in both cases, the charges were dropped, citing insufficient evidence. not surprising says tony dumont of safe quest. >> we know interventions and services can help, but the victim also has to be ready and have to be educated and know what resources are available. >> the family violence unit says 20% of the domestic violence cases have a child in the home under the age of 12. >> the whole family suffers. they're all victims. that is one of the reasons most

of our programs are dedicated to prevention and education. >> the family may have been under a lot of pressure. court documents also show that in february, the couple filed for bankruptcy. in fairfield, abc7 news. today, a jury acquitted a former after school program coordinator of sex abuse charges. mia cummings was accused of having a two year long relationship with a student. prosecutors claim it began when the boy was 12 years old. the jury deliberated before finding her not guilty. a lot more still to come here. an oakland youth baseball team made it's way onto the big screen. just ahead, the players life-changing journey and the man that brought it to life on film. rei announced plans to close for black friday but will other retailers follow suit? i'm chris nguyen with the story,

abc7 news was at lefty o'doul's as the san francisco seals were recognized as being the oldest soft ball team, all are 75 and older. the team won the regional, national and world soft ball championships and are on the way to a fourth grand slam. >> we play younger guys because there aren't too many older, older teams that play at our

several investigations are underway now into the confrontation caught on video between a school resource officer and student in columbia, south carolina. jason carol has the story. >> reporter: south carolina school police officer ben fields seen here, is on administrative leave this morning, after his violent take down of a high school student was caught on camera monday afternoon. you can see the sheriff's deputy tossing a female student to the ground after she refused to get up from her desk. then, throwing her across the classroom floor. >> we don't want to go to rush to judgment but feel the video is very, very disturbing. >> reporter: acoring to police, the student was asked to leave the classroom. she refused, fields was called

in to arrest her for disturbing class. officials say the video is quote, extremely disturbing and banned the deputy from district schools pending an investigation. the sheriff's department, also looking into the matter, says it's still unclear what happened before the camera started to roll. >> we'll have to look at this in it's totality. is this a pattern? >> reporter: the deputy has been working for the district seven years and awarded culture of excellence award in 2014, proving to be what they say was an exceptional role model to the students. deputy fields has been the subject of two lawsuits. in one case, the jury ruled in his favor, the second is ongoing. let's move now to the budget battle on capitol hill. conservative republicans can see

they cannot block a deal now on the table. outgoing speaker john boehner announced a deal he says would avoid a debt crisis and a government shut down. conservatives say it's a betrayal of the miss cali conservative promises made in the last election. the deal includes $80 billion in new spending over two years. >> the agreement isn't perfect but the alternative is an increase without support from troops and entitlement reform. >> the white house is urging its pass yanl. the vote is scheduled for tomorrow in the house. well, from san francisco residents and business owners are angry about the proposed changes to muni bus lines along lombard street. officials say it will improve traffic and safety, residents say the plan is bad for local businesses. ab

abc7 news is on the story. >> reporter: lombard street is filled with businesses. sfmta is proposing changes on lombard street. some are finding out about. >> the proposal is making it safer for people walking. >> reporter: part of the project proposal includes adding transit vaults to pick up passengers without having to go in and out of traffic. four pedestrian boats like this one would be added. the projects would eliminate 47 parking spots. and the stops would be moved to three locations including in front of body rock. >> my concerns are traffic flow, parking, and then, the lack of communication by the sfmta.

>> sfmta says the agency went door to door, and posted flyers. >> and no. and no, no. >> he says a client told him about the project. he's one of several people involved in a campaign opposed to it. >> i look at the plan as being a solution for sfmta but not a global solution. >> we know there are concerns and that is why we're having so many meetings. >> reporter: a town hall meeting is scheduled november 17th. public hearing december 4th, and sfmta will vote on the proposal in january. >> now, moving to money matters. apple announced profits rose 31% backed by booming iphone sales in china. the company sold 48 million iphones but that fell short of estimates. air bnb is testing out selling

silicone wrist bands are a popular way to show support for a cause. one woman created wrist bands to memorialize her sister when she died. however it wasn't the fitting tribute she wanted or intended. >> what a hassle. >> the idea is to have a meaningful keep sake. however, she was upset about the quality and didn't want to give them up. the company won't help, she came to me. >> raquel is grieving the loss of her twin sister. >> we talked every day. >> she loved the giants and elvis. >> she was a big fan of the giants, practically a fixture at
