san jose where neighbors are understandably upset. >> the residents here are very upset. many of them know the boy who was shot. the nine-year-old boy was asleep when the rifle discharged hitting the boy in the leg. both are in serious condition at valley medical center. smith is also under arrest there for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition and for nengt discharge of a firearm arm. >> did he have guns? >> no, not that i know of. i didn't even know he had anything he shot off.

>> in both targeting asian parents returning home after dropping their kids off at the nearby high school. the robbers escaped with cash, jewelry and other small items. they are working with agencies to find those suspects. >> you're working closely with them to find not only where these robberies are occurring, but hoping to see if those parents are being followed away from school. >> police are asking neighbors to review security camera footage to see if there's pictures. >> police have arrested this man, shawn gibson. he's accused of committing at least 22 car burglaries in san francisco. >> they were connected to the crime.

police are now investigating if the gun was used in any recent assault. >> a man trying to turn himself in for killing his girlfriend is turned away. he was told to go down the street and surrender to the police department. chris win is live with the story tonight. chris, this is hard to believe. >> it is important to note that this information all based off of the man's statement. we want to point out that the sheriff's office has not returned our molt pl request for comments. let's show you the man in question here. this is 278-year-old hugo castro. according to police, castro stated that he and the victim knew each other and had a prior dating relationship. officers found the victim on monday morningment we're looking at video from the crime scene.

now, again, sources say the suspect, hugo castro, tried to turn himself into the santa clara county main jail. that's where he met with homicide detectives to share what happened saying he had stabbed the victim sometime over the weekend. he was then taken into custody. sources tell us he was turned away and redirected to the police department. sources telling us that the sheriff's office is handling the investigation of this case and how they handled the case. rorlting live, abc 7 news back to you. >> a major policy change at the alameda county jail.

breaking news in indianapolis where police are reporting at least two people shot at a shopping mall. it's not guilty known if the suspect was in custody. witnesses inside the mall target store told a local television station that he heard ten, maybe level shots and saw people running for their lives. we'll continue to monitor for this story, of course. for breaking news at any time, follow us on twitter. >> golden state warriors have been diagnosed with a concussion. it's not clear when he's going to return. he's bumped heads in the first period of last night's season opener. he suffered a cut above his right eye. that required three stitches. >> controversy surrounding san

food delivery service has shut down one of its locations. according to the online site, closed its richmond district location after officials planted the start-up for using the building to store food and as a station for deliveries. those actions violate the building's zoning code. last year, accused of improcherly storing food. >> right now, okay oakland city leaders are holding an open hougs as the mayor prepares to tlifer her state of the city address. during the event where people can take advantage of services offered by the city. the mayor did not attend her offices. she's putting the finishing touches on her speech. oakland residents are then invited to join in on discussions hosted by city staff about the top issues affecting the city. >> the let's take a look at

yet again, much of the wild salmon isn't wild at all. they used dna testing to reach their findings. 63% of salmon sold in restaurants during the off-season is mis-liabled. the same can be said for 16% of the salmon sold in season at restaurants. nine% of wild salmon out of season and 6% in-season is mislabeled. new language in the federal budget now before congress would allow robo calls to your cell phones by government debt collectors. that means if you have an outstanding student loan, you can kbet robo calls on your cell phone. saying if you owe back taxes to the irs or if you have a federally-backed home mortgage.
