live, from the kgo broadcast center. this is abc 7 news. a wild chase through san francisco tonight ended with two vehicles on their sides and three suspects running from that crash. good evening. >> the suspects were hurt and are now in custody. let's talk to sergio quintana, live at the hall of justice. >> reporter: police say those three are booked facing multiple felonies, including armed robbery. also charges for that chase that led officers through the south of market district and included those two crashes and a couple of different injuries. a tow truck hauls away a silver sedan. police say three people inside have been arrested after an armed robbery and a chase that went to one side of the city to the other. it ended in the dog patch

district with the crash and the suspect on the run. >> i saw somebody run here, there were police guys on the ground. >> the getaway car slammed into this mini cooper. the silver volkswagen rolled over at the intersection. the woman who owns that didn't want to go on camera but described the crash. >> the lady was crawling out of the truck. >> reporter: officers tell us the woman in the volkswagen was not part of the chase and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. several blocks away, another crash. the department vehicle rolled over when it came into contact with the getaway car. the parking control officer suffered minor injuries. the cab driver said the suspect sped by him. >> it was too fast. going really high speed. on the right wheel it was locked. >> he says the right wheel was damaged and smoking.

this all started in the sunset district with the armed robbery and the local business. >> it could have been worse with the people being in downtown san francisco. >> police say they're happy that the chase ended with only minor injuries. in san francisco, sergio quintana, abc 7 news. just a terrible situation in new york, a speeding car went airborne and plowed into a group of trick-or-treaters, three people died, including a 10-year-old girl, three others were injured, including a young girl in critical condition. bodies were scattered. some thought it was just halloween props. >> the family of kids were trick-or-treating, walking behind me. and all of a sudden like a car -- like i heard the boom and the car literally like jumped over a parked car and flew into the gate. hitting a bunch of people. >> reporter: the driver is a

53-year-old man who is in the hospital. and police still do not know what caused this crash. a driver in oakland is charged in a crash that killed a man and seriously hurt a woman. neighbors near mcarthur boulevard say that the man ran a red light, slammed into another car. as you can see it sheered off the front end and then went airborne, landing on someone's front lawn. a 19-year-old man was tossed in the convertible and killed in the crash. a woman in the car went to the hospital. neighbors say they see drivers running red lights all the time. >> you have to be cautious when you're in this area, very cautious. >> especially at night. it's really, really bad around here. >> said you almost got hit once some. >> yes, i did. that was actually yesterday around 5:00. >> the driver and the passenger ran from the crash, officers quickly found and arrested them. a rohnert park man is in

jail after police say he tried to kidnap a 13-year-old girl walking home from school. while grabbing her, police say he sexually assaulted the team. more from the sonoma county jail. >> reporter: reggie, a 53-year-old man is in custody tonight at the jail but police want potential witnesses to come forward. they need help positively identifying this man in a lineup. >> oh, my gosh. >> reporter: people who live near adrian drive in southwest boulevard my rohnert park are experiencing equal parts shock and relief. >> i said no, i would never leave my daughter to walk alone. >> reporter: police say that he likely followed a 13-year-old girl as she walked home from technology middle school yesterday. he may have been hanging around the school for the past few weeks. >> she saw him and she fell. and he at one point grabbed her and hung onto her and actually moved her. >> reporter: the teen fought back, ran home and her parents called 911. the police arrested him on

attempted kidnapping and sexual battery charges. >> people like that should not be around here. >> reporter: miguel lopez lived in the neiborhood for more than 20 years. >> kids are always pretty safe with their parents. it's amazing it happened and i'm glad they caught him. >> reporter: and since it happened around 3:15 in the afternoon, investigators hope witnesses will come forward. >> yes, this is very broad daylight time of day. there were a lot of people around. >> reporter: police say mathamas' mental capacity may be a factor in the assault. and san francisco's last-remaining gun shop closed today. there were only gun accessories after selling off most of their merchandise. the manager made the decision because of a new law that requires every gun sale to be recorded on camera and sent to police. supporters say that footage could be used to investigate gun crime in the future. now, to the east bay where a two-alarm fire that tore through a house is being called

north bay. watch the sprinkles dive to the south around santa rosa around 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon. and picking up in intensity. by 7:00, the heart of the bay area seeing light showers moving through the south bay. the majority of your sunday will be dry. not late in the evening on sunday. we'll see the wet weather moving in around 10:00. and showers lingering in. in terms of rainfall, generally we're thinking a tenth to as much as a quarter of an inch of rain. if we do see a downpour over a longer period of time it is likely you could see more than a quarter inch of rain. a winter storm watch, up to a foot of snow is possible above 7,000 feet, even the pass nees could see four to eight inches, tahoe, nine inches from south lake tahoe. even kirkwood could see up to 11 inches of snow by the evening.

. live from the kgo tv broadcast center, this is abc 7 news. good evening. tonight, the headlines show three armed robbery suspects under arrest after leading police in san francisco on a wild chase. it ended with two cars flipped over in the dog patch district despite all the damage no one was seriously hurt. in the north bay police are looking for witnesses who can identify a man accused in an attempted kidnapping and sexual assault. joseph musalma is accused of

attacking a girl walking home from middle school in rohnert park yesterday afternoon. that team fought back. >> and a two alarm fire at a home in danville was called suspicious. it started on linda mesa avenue. the entire home was filled floor to ceiling with all sorts of items making it difficult to put out. international officials are investigating claims the extremist state group brought down a russian passenger jet today killing all 24 on board. it happened in the mountainous region of egypt's sinai peninsula 23 minutes after the airliner took off from a popular resort. egyptian officials investigated the scene today. russia's transport minister has dismissed the claim by the islamic state as not credible. two other jets stopped flying over the area for safety.

and a shooting spree happening this morning in downtown colorado springs. it ended when the suspected gunman got into a shootout with police in front of a fast food restaurant. officers shot and killed that man after he fired at them. >> people in romania are observing three days of national mourning after a fire at a nightclub killed 37 people. they laid a flower at the collective night club. the spokesperson believed safety regulations were ignored. a metal band was giving a free concert in the basement club when there was a problem with pyrotechnics. nearly 200 people were hurt, some in critical condition with burns and smoke inhalation. the nightclub had as many as 40 young people inside. and this incident is said to be similar to another one in 2003. and a terrible mess in texas, six people have died as a result of very long storms and heavy rain.

the strong weather caused tornadoes, an austin woman was swept away from her home by flood waters. they also found the body of a man who had gone missing after his vehicle got stuck in the rushing water. four others died yesterday. one man from austin captured video from his car being carried away by that flood water we were talking about. he sent the video to his wife after climbing out of the window and up to a tree to get away from the rising water. >> it was like white water rapids. i saw the first two helicopters and got excited. when i saw the third one i was not excited anymore. but that is the one that got me. >> packer said he clung to the tree for hours. amazingly he didn't get hurt. an investigation under way after an e. coli scare caused chipotle to close 42 restaurants, those are in seattle and oregon. another three in the oregon area

visits with the family and helps them fight for glasses for mckenzie. >> it was described to me as swiss cheese to her, so she can see through little pockets or holes but the vast majority of her vision doesn't exist. it's enough for her to get around, so whatever she has she is really using to the fullest. blind babies working with her has really brought that out. >> research has shown that over 100,000 visuals are seen by children in the first year. we're learning that early percent of learning is visual. >> reporter: that is why early intervention and support is so crucial, according to one expert with the blind babies foundation. it's been around for 66 years, abc 7's mike nico and i have worked with them for a long time. they host events to bring families together including family camp where mckenzie was put on a horse. and the beeper egg hunt is a big
