very pretty shot. temperatures are mild. 60 oakland. 55 half moon bay. boy, it was warm yesterday. we were well into the 80s again. 90 in gilroy. that won't happen again in the near future, at least the next seven days. 55 novato. 60 by the delta. plenty of 80s inland and 82 in redwood city yesterday. we will take care of that today with cooler numbers and the clouds increasing. 53 santa rosa, a view from lake tahoe where a winter weather watch still in effect where we could see about a foot of snow near kirkwood through tomorrow. partly cloudy this morning. showers arrive mainly this evening through the overnight hours and northwest winds kick up tomorrow with a slight chance of a thunderstorm. so with the cold front to the north, it is just slowly taking its time. high pressure will fade-away but it will keep us dry throughout the day today, most of the day anyway. and this is what brings the cold air and really sets the stage for some very chilly mornings
6:50 am
and a slow recovery temperature-wise throughout the rest of the week. as we look at the rest of the morning, notice it's pretty rainy through noontime from ukiah points north. but cloverdale gets into the act by 10:00, as well as santa rosa. but then by 1:00 it's still to the north. 4:00 it's kind of around the bay area here and there. then by 8:00 just a few light showers. now this forecast model is painting a pretty wet picture through the overnight hours from the peninsula to the east bay. then the showers keep going. right on through the early morning hours . some of them offshore. that's why with the colder air in mays we could see a thunderstorm. we will get into some sunshine in the afternoon and rainfall amounts vary electric a couple of hundredth to about a quarter inch. the san carlos airport .21. over a tenth in san jose and lesser amounts over by the delta. perhaps a quarter inch up in santa rosa. so this is a good snow-maker with the heaviest snow coming in
6:51 am
tomorrow morning. up to a foot of snow above 7,000 feet. really from late tonight into later tomorrow is when the impact will be in the sierra nevada. south lake 10 inches. about a foot at kirkwood and 8 inches around donner. so highs today in the upper 60s from san francisco, san mateo. hook for about 70 in vallejo. scattered showers in the north bay throughout the around. and then throughout the day today in oakland it will be cloudy, 67 degrees for the game. the accuweather seven-day forecast shows the showers lingering into tomorrow and then in the 70s perhaps in the inland east bay but pretty cool as we go through next week. >> so no rain washing off the silver and black paint? >> no, i don't think so. "good morning america" is next. when i was sidelined with blood clots in my lung,h. it was serious. fortunately, my doctor had a game plan. treatment with xarelto®. hey guys! hey, finally, somebody i can look up to... ...besides arnie. xarelto® is proven to treat and help reduce the risk of dvt and pe blood clots. xarelto® is also proven to reduce the risk of stroke in people with afib, not caused by a heart valve problem. for people with afib currently well managed on warfarin, there's limited information
6:59 am
on how xarelto® and warfarin compare in reducing the risk of stroke. you know, i tried warfarin, but the blood testing and dietary restrictions... don't get me started on that. i didn't have to. we started on xarelto®. nice pass. safety first. like all blood thinners, don't stop taking xarelto® without talking to your doctor, as this may increase your risk of a blood clot or stroke. while taking, you may bruise more easily and it may take longer for bleeding to stop. xarelto® may increase your risk of bleeding if you take certain medicines. xarelto® can cause serious, and in rare cases, fatal bleeding. get help right away for unexpected bleeding, unusual bruising, or tingling. if you have had spinal anesthesia while on xarelto®, watch for back pain or any nerve or muscle related signs or symptoms. do not take xarelto® if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. tell your doctor before all planned medical or dental procedures. before starting xarelto®, tell your doctor about any kidney, liver, or bleeding problems. you know xarelto® is the #1 prescribed blood thinner in its class. that's a big win. it is for me. with xarelto® there is no regular blood monitoring and no known dietary restrictions.
