abc7 news begins with breaking news. good morning, everyone, thank you for joining us. now, back to the east bay a major traffic alert for drivers. >> that is the breaking news, eastbound 80 is shut down while police investigate a deadly shooting. amy? >> i have progress to show you, they have opened in the last couple of minutes the on-ramp at apian way eastbound in pinole. watch as they get on the freeway. there is no traffic to emergency into because the freeway down the road behind us is shut down. we have learned more details

about the shooting that happened. they have gathered information to suggest that the victims and the killer knew each other. they have been gearing that evidence overnight and are still working on it. that is why you see in part of the freeway still shut down. the killer pulled up next to the victims' car and filed several time. the driver would was a man, was killed. his female passenger survived. she is in the hospital. the killer is stillless. >> something to be concern about. the shooter is still out there. however, we me this is a targeted event, the chances that a random shooting leak this could occur is not likely. >> this is a similar shooting in the same area a week ago, an exit away on san pablo on freeway. that shooter got away. the victim survived that shooting. i asked if the two are concluded and investigator say it is too

early to say but they will look into that. they are estimateing this freeway will open up entirely at 6:30 this morning and possibly earlier. though say they have a last area to cover. they have a last witnesses they are talking to but looking for more if you happen for be in the area around 11 o'clock and you saw something, give c.h.p. a call. >> thank you, obviously, big problems for drivers, and there it is eastbound leyla, you know how westbound traffic could be affected. >> we are seeing slowing approach the detour at apian way at pinole valley road but traffic is let off at apian way the detour takes you to highway four that will reconnect you to highway 80. the slow we had earlier has subside but this can change as the morning wears on. as we take it further to the

south, eastbound 580 merging with westbound 80 between central avenue and buchanan at the hoffman split we have an accident and a car fire with injuries involved and we have some delays as we look at our picture, you can see the flashing lights, the upper right-hand corner of the screen and various slow traffic approaching. when you get beyond the scene of the accident the traffic things out and it is looking like top speed through berkeley and bart and ace train and muni, no delays. mike? >> new jersey you, well start in the south bay with the first hazard of the morning, the frost advisory until 9:00 so keep it all covered or inside as there as you can. coolest temperatures next to the santa address high school at 37 degrees. to the northwest bay you are under the frost advisory until 9:00. coldest temperature right new is 31, and one recorded station in petaluma and santa rosa 32 and american canyon is up to 33, but, city freezing fog is possible and black ice there.

charges in michael tyree's death. >> a former debutante charged with d.u.i. and hitting two children in a san francisco crosswalk last week is out on bail. the 30-year-old kirstener and rack appeared in court and a judge's open prohibits her if driving. both have forwarded hips and other injuries. the city plans to reduce one lane of traffic and reconfigure bay street but an attorney for the families of the victims said that they did not do anything until the accident. >> this morning, political analysts say that the 4th republican presidential debate lacked fire woulds as candidates focused on the issued. >> when we raise the minimum wage the number of jobless people increased. >> i hate to say it we have to labor it the way it is. people have to go out and work really hard. >> if i thought raising the

have been watching all morning. thank you is right, our breaking news this morning is the shooting in pinole on the freeway, eastbound 80 at pinole valley road and right here we are at apian way where folks can get off the freeway to use the detours, the closure at pinole valley road is with us at least physical 6:30, and that is according to c.h.p. amy hollyfield is on the scene this and will bring us more details as they become available. but right now traffic is light. i will use our map to show you exact where this is located if you travel out of richmond to pinole that is where i will start to see the delays as the commute wears on. police activity eastbound 80 at pinole valley road the exit is apian way. can you see westbound traffic is not affected and moving along fine. to the south, however we had a crash with a car fire and that is cleared. we are see better conditions eastbound 580 as it merges with
