14th. good morning and thanks for waking up with us, i'm chris nguyen. >> here is meteorologist frances dinglasan in for lisa argen this morning. >> good morning. there has been fog up in concord, 43 degrees right now, 51 san francisco, 46 in san jose. so it's a cool start but things will warm up, you will see some sunshine this afternoon with temperatures in the 60s. enjoy the day because the rain is on its way. the forecast animation shows increasing clouds by this evening, you should be safe if you have dinner plans, but check out midnight, we will start toc see rain in the north bay, it

will sweep through the bay area in the overnight hours and we will see some spotty showers linger as well into the early tomorrow morning, windy and blustery conditions by tomorrow afternoon. i will let you know how much rain we will get and also i will talk about sierra snow in my next forecast. now to our top story this morning, the terror attacks in paris. here is the latest information, at least 127 people are dead after a devastating day in the city of light. at least 200 people have been hospitalized, 70 in critical condition. americans are among those who were injured. after a series of six attacks across the french capital within just 30 minutes of each other this includes shootings, explosions and a hostage situation. we know at least eight terrorists are dead, seven killed themselves when they detonated suicide vests. at least one of the gunmen has been identified, french officials found a syrian passport on one of the attackers. the eiffel tower will be closed

indefinitely following the attacks. the french president blames isis and calls it an act of war. isis has claimed responsibility for the attacks and said it was the, quote, first of the storm and a warning to those who wish to learn. abc 7 news spoke with the man who witnessed the terror, he has friends in san francisco and told us he was not able to leave his house in paris because the army had set up outside his door. he lives less than a block away from one of the six sites attacked yesterday. the man told us he was walking home with friends when they stumbled upon a grizzly scene. >> when we arrived at the corner of the street everybody was just dead, laying in blood, just neighbors started bringing blankets and covering the bodies on the street. >> of course, we will have a report on the attack, an update on the attacks coming up. now, this is the deadliest violence that paris has seen since world war ii. abc news reporter elizabeth hur

is in new york with the developing details for us. >> reporter: this morning the french president said isis is behind the attacks that killed at least 127 people. and isis has claimed responsibility for the deadly assault that rocked paris at six different locations. the worst carnage, at this concert hall where an american rock bald eagles of death metal was performing when the gunmen stormed in, coming face-to-face with concert goers. >> they were nothing, nothing in the eyes, just anger. it was determined to kill and they knew how to do it. >> i saw a couple of people wounded, i saw this other guy with his wife's shirt drenched in blood. >> reporter: many held captive, later filing out, hands on their head, telling french tv they heard the attackers screaming

allahu akbar. a crowded restaurant also came under fire. >> everyone was stunned and frozen on the floor. >> reporter: and explosions outside a packed stadium left thousands of spectators including the french president stunned, amid the chaos and confusion, there was also a show of patriotism, fans evacuating singing the national anthem. overseas in vienna secretary of state john kerry says the u.s. will stand with the french people. >> if they have done anything they have encouraged us today to do even harder work to make progress and to help resolve the crises that we face. >> reporter: meanwhile, in an audio message posted online isis claims france remains its main target and this was, quote, only v"=,.uee beginning of the storm. elizabeth hur, abc news, new york. paris is often called the

city of light but much of the city went dark last night. the lights on the eiffel tower were turned off to honor the dozens of people killed and, again, that monument will be closed indefinitely following the attacks. in new york city the top of the new world trade center was lit in blue, white and red last night, the colors of the french flag. the freedom tower will remain lit in those colors in the days to come to honor the victims. san francisco is one of paris' sister cities, city hall was also lit up last night in the colors of the french flag. people were touched by the gesture even though the colors were initially displayed in the wrong order. a vigil will be held tonight at the french consulate in san francisco, it will begin at 5:00 p.m. people trade tribute there last night, many who showed up were french natives who are suffering deep pain. this has been a year of terror for france. in january 11 people were killed at the paris offices of charlie hebdo magazine. in august three americans

thwarted an attack on a paris bound train. one man was visited from paris. >> very sad. very sad for my sun trcountry a not with my friends and family and i feel sorry to be very far away. >> i was at home. in a way i was so glad i wasn't, but i wish i was home to be near my family and my friends. in a way i'm really glad i'm here because i've got a baby. >> a french consulate employee tells us a gathering for the charlie hebdo attacks in january forced them to a part of the street, he expects they will have to do the same for the vigil that is planned for later today. no flights are affected between paris and sfo. we spoke with a grad kwat student from san ramone who plans to take a group of international students to france next week, she is very worried. >> i'm nervous because it doesn't sound safe to go, especially with students from all over the world.

>> again, none of the nights from san francisco to paris have been canceled or delayed. the terror attacks in france are raising security concerns in major cities across the country, including san francisco. in a statement last night the san francisco police department says it is maintaining high visibility throughout the area. sales for ceo mark beneof is making a plea to his employees in paris. he tweeted sales force currently has 451 employees in paris and 204 have confirmed they are safe. we need to hear from the rest of you, call go center. sales force is headquartered in san francisco. still no word yet from san francisco based airbnb about the status of its conference under way right now in paris. the company posted its video of its event called airbnb open just hours before the attack. some 6,000 people are i attending that conference it's being held about two miles away from the theater that came under attack. we know many of you have

welcome back, everyone. a live look from the golden gate bridge. the sun is out, there's a slight breeze in the air. when can we expect some rain? frances returns in a little bit to break down the full accuweather forecast. developing news in san francisco after a tour bus crashed yesterday afternoon. three people who were critically injured are expected to be in surgery today. the out of control double decker tour bus crashed into several vehicles. it happened on post street in union square, a busy spot on a friday afternoon. 20 people were hurt, many went to san francisco general hospital. five people are in critical condition including two head injuries and one with a broken leg. witnesses say the crash was loud and terrifying. >> it was a big noise, like i

thought the building was falling down. >> it doesn't surprise me. it really scares me when i see one of these buses driving around and near fisherman's wharf. it's scary to see them coming. >> we will look at everything. we will look at any mechanical malfunctions, we will look at any dui or alcohol or narcotics as standard operating procedures go as far as collisions. >> police are investigating what exactly went down. in sacramento police are on the lookout for a gunman who shot two high school football players killing one. two players left to grab food hours before a playoff game. they were a mile away from campus when someone in another vehicle opened fire on them. one player died after being hit in the neck, another player was shot in the arm but expected to survive. a warning with our next story, the video is quite disturbing, two alameda sheriff's deputies in the mission district are seen

splauter, child endangerment and destruction of evidence. on october 24th she and her husband got into a fight, police say her ten-year-old son stabbed him, however, she did not call police until 6:00 the next morning saying he wouldn't wake up. 8:16 is our time. the largest support pier of the old eastern span of the bay bridge was imploded just over an hour ago. this is a live look at the bridge right now. abc 7 news corner cornell bernard joins us live from tez treasure island with details of today's explosion. >> reporter: it was quite a boom from our vantage point. caltrans said the explosion went according to plan. about 7:15 this morning the old pier is now gone. it was pretty dramatic. take a look. the implosion lasted about five seconds, 20 million pounds of concrete was demolished with

about 600 charges of dynamite. the debris contained by a cap on top and the size of the pier which extended down about 50 feet under the water. folks who came out today say they were a bit disappointed, but caltrans says all went according to plan. >> as we know right now there is sonar that will tell us a lot more, give us additional data. what we really can assess, but right now from what we have seen and what we can tell from right here very near, it went as planned. >> what did you think? >> it was very, very disappointing. we stayed up all night and we came out here and we were expecting a lwhole lot who are and we got a dud. >> reporter: some folks tell us they were expect gs the inspire span would be demolished. caltrans says it has a lot of data to review but at this point the implosion was successful.

bridge you can see some clear sky out there, but get ready, there is a storm coming a cold one arriving at midnight. the heaviest rain will be during the overnight hours, we will see a few showers linger by tomorrow morning, by the afternoon sunshine but it will be blustery and uncomfortable and also feeling very cold for sunday. here is a look at the radar satellite image. we have this band of thick clouds, that's going to slide south so we will see increasing clouds tonight, the cold storm arrives overnight. in fact, i will show you by midnight we're still pretty much in the clear. for those of you heading to the game you don't need your umbrella, just a jacket. midnight maybe 0.01 of an inch in sanity rosa. the brunt will fall between 1:00 and 4:00 a.m. that's where we will see about a half an inch in san francisco, 0.4 of an inch in oakland. more showers left over and in general most everyone getting a half an inch, of course more at

a period of 10 to 15 minutes stopping only to reload their weapons. inside others finding places to hide. witnesses report hearing the gunmen shout allahu akbar. police say more than 100 trapped as hostages for three hours, shortly after midnight armed officers storming the concert hall, amid the incredible lols of life rescuers helping 40 people to safety, the four attackers among the dead inside the theater, three of them killed by their own suicide belts. terrorists also targeted france's packed national stadium, three observation ploegss i think aring out during a france/germany soccer match. >> the crowd started moving, everyone started panicking, it was impossible to leave. >> reporter: like the other targets across the city not a state building or popular iconic tourist attract, instead neighborhood spots, bars and restaurants, this one a cambodian restaurant, next door

west towards the bay bridge and the bay. the storm arrives tonight close to midnight actually. then the rain will be heavy at times overnight, a few showers continue into tomorrow morning, then sunday afternoon will be blustery and uncomfortably cold. if you have to do anything outdoors today would be a better day to do it. a thick band of clouds will slide south and this cold storm sweeps through the bay area overnight. i will let you know when you can expect the heavy rain. by midnight tonight all of us should be safe, but a lot of increasing clouds and this en we start to see rain up in cloverdale. the heart of the storm will sweep through in the overnight hours. by 3:00 in the morning we will see some heavy rain as we head through vallejo, san francisco and parts of the pens lae coast. by 7:00 tomorrow morning just some leftover showers throughout the bay area. by lunchtime clouds linger, the
