the frightening sound of gunfire rings out on the streets of paris in the past few minutes. authorities announce this morning's raids stopped another terrorist attack. at least two people are dead in the new raid and the hunt continues for those behind the paris attack. >> new details released by the french prosecutor. police fired 5,000 rounds. they're trying to determine whether the mastermind of friday's deadly attacks is among the dead. a phone found outside the

concert hall that let police to one specific report. abc news reporter marcy gonzalez is in paris with the latest on the terror investigation. >> reporter: an absolutely dramatic scene. police finding weapons, explosives and other chilling evidence during this morning's ra raid. gunfire and explosions echoing through the early morning hours in the suburbs of paris. >> translator: we felt the building shake. there were guys up stairs screaming shoot, shoot. >> french police storming the apartment a mile from the national soccer stadium where friday's terror attacks began. cell phone records and surveillance leading them here where they thought the alleged mastermind, abdel hamid abaaoud was hiding. inside officials say officers were shot at. a woman rushed toward them killing herself with a suicide belt, another suspect also killed.

at least seven people taken into custody. this just one of nearly 120 searches across france overnight as police also try to track down two of the accused terrorists who carried out the deadly attacks. >> this is like a tree growing, as they pick up information from each raid. >> reporter: france's president reiterating this country is at war with isis, sending a aircraft carrier to triple their capacity to launch air strikes in syria saying france will never give in to fear. prosecutors confirm that terror mastermind they were targeting was not a.m. among those detained this morning. they say they still haven't identified the bodies of the two people who were killed. live in paris, marcy gonzalez, abc news, now back to you. >> marcy, we know it's 8:00 in the evening in paris right now. can you tell us more about the mood in paris following those raids this morning?

blasting cap and electric initiator. yesterday russia announce add bomb did bring down the plane killing 224 people. it is likely that it was detonated by someone physically on the plane. we're learning new details about the relationship of the chp officers involved in a high-speed chase from gilroy to san jose. it ended off southbound interstate 280 at winchester boulevard in moore park. matt keller is live at the scene. >> reporter: right now the vehicles involved in the high-speed chase are being towed away including the chp car. the accident investigators are on the scene taking measurements and collecting physical evidence from the crash that ended with a young man losing his life. this wrecked white hon do accord doesn't tell the whole story of the high-speed chase. before it ended here at 3:57 p.m., the driver led officers on a wild ride when they spotted

the car speeding. investigators estimate the car may have gone as fast as 125 miles per hour during the 28-minute ordeal over several freeways in gilroy, morgan hill and finally san jose. the driver tried to exit southbound 280 at winchester boulevard but was going too fast. >> the vehicle collided with the berm and was unable to negotiate the turn, it went airborne. >> the female passenger had minor injuries. the male driver was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later. the chp vehicle was also damaged at the end of the pursuit. a father and son team had minor injuries after they lost control coming off the winchester boulevard exit. >> the chp vehicle was the first vehicle in the pursuit. they struck the curb there on the shoulder and strong that wrong-way sign, hopped back over this curve right here and you can see the damage to the patrol

car, shattered the windshield. >> i spoke with the medical examiner's office and they have identified the driver as 21-year-old daniel avalos, and the female passenger is an 18-year-old woman, expected to be released later today. reporting live in san jose, matt keller, abc 7 news. a 5-year-old boy and man are recovering after being shot in a drive-by shooting in richmond. police tell us it happened on south 37th street just before 8:00 last night. they say shots were fired between two cars. the driver of one car, a man in his 30s was shot in the torso. his passenger, the 5-year-old was shot as well but not seriously hurt. police have not released a description of the suspect but said that person got away in a four-door white pontiac sedan. 27-year-old antonio nava
