emergency crews recovered a person's body. police first went to that area near east santa clara street and north 17th street just before 10:00 this morning. detectives say the body was partially submerged. the medical examiner is working to identify that person and to find a cause of death. >> a dog with the shasta county sheriff's department helped sniff out more than 250 pounds of pot this morning. deputies pulled over two men, including one man from san francisco for violation and the dogs, well, they smelled the drugs. the two men, of course, been arrested. >> modern technology played a role in connecting a suspect to one man's murder more than 30 years ago. john scott was arrested in

arizona on thursday. the 67-year-old is waiting to be extradited to the bay area. new dna anal sigs was provided last year and later releeszed because of a lock of evidence. >> tonight, the government's lead witness in the trial of reputed china town gangster shrimp boy claims shrimp boy became like a brother to him during the undercover operation. jurors heard secretly recorded conversations backing up that claim. vick lee is in san francisco. >> raymond "shrimp boy" chow was indicted for crimes and money laundering. prosecutors question their star witness, an undercover f.b.i. agent posing as mafioso.

hoar u it's just a glorious view. we'll talk about the details in a moment here. short term, we're looking at a string of sunny days as high pressure diverts the storm track to the north right on through the weekend and even into monday. long-range forecast now are showing rain but the timing is slower and the totals are lower. chance of showers next wednesday we go into thursday and a few lingering showers for thanksgiving. we're generally looking at a few hundred to maybe 12th of an inch in half-moon bay. the bottom line? what can you expect for your holiday travel plans? showers will arrive, roads will be slick. so it could be a slow-goaling one.
