evacuations are underway. we're working to bring you more information during the newscast and through twitter as well. connect with us at abc7 news bay area. >> we'll take a live look at san francisco international airport. that's where people are on edge during the busy thanksgiving travel time, after two scares in the air. the first one happened on a singapore airlines flight from sfo last night. someone reported a bomb threat. one passenger september us these photos of the passenger going through an additional security check and baggage screening. nothing found. passengers were delayed two hours after they landed. >> the other square involved a southwest airlines flying from indianapolis to lax. had to be diverted to kansas city because of suspicious behavior by some of the passengers. cornell bernard spoke with a woman from san francisco who was flying home for thanksgiving on that flight. joining us now life from sfo with the story.

>> reporter: very scary flight for stacy lee and other passengers. three men -- >> this cell phone video shot bay passenger shows a man being escorted off a southwest flight which made an unscheduled landing kansas city. >> it was scary not knowing the details or what was going on. to see the police on flight. >> staysis back home in the bay area for thanksgiving but just getting here was bit unnerving after the flight from indianapolis to lax was diverted with little explanation. >> the moment we landed in kansas city, though, we were well aware that something else was occurring. >> listen to audio from the control tower. >> 'm alpha 10, then taxi to get a 37 and there's law enforcement at the gate. >> three men were escorted off the southwest jet by police and questioned by the fbi. k-9 units were brought on board

to inspect the plane. stacy case concern began we bright aattend were making prefright announcements and the men acted suspiciously. >> that part of the debrief at the beginning, they had gotten up out of their seats and swapped seats and that is something that created an issue. >> i was really scared. i didn't know what was going on. >> after an hour on the ground, baggage was rescreened and passengers allowed to reboard but the three men were missing. >> they were not in line with us to reboard. >> in a statement southwest says the flight crew made the decision to divert to kansas city in response to several passengers who did not follow crew instruction upon takeoff and continued to exhibit suspicious behavior in flight. retired american airlines pilot says the crew made the right call. >> they're trained and make the assessment, the real-time assessment. they're familiar with what goes on in the cabin, which i

considered normal behavior and behavior that is -- that perhaps is questionable. >> i'm glad we took the precautions. >> after questioning the three men were rebooked and allowed to continue on later flights. at sfo, abc7 news. >> we now know the name of a motorized scooter rider killed by a hit-and-run driver in san francisco. 60-year-old george nix was riding along san jose avenue near monterey boulevard when a driver struck him. the driver of the car did not stop. authorities spent the day talking to possible witnesses and gathering surveillance video in hopes of catching the driver. at new details on a woman hit and wild while walk around lake merced. she was 50 year who lived in the city. police say yesterday a woman driving a pickup truck lost control, jumped the curb, and then hit her. the driver told police that her brakes failed. >> daly city police are asking for your help to identify a suspected mail thief. this man was caught on cameras

calling on mountain view city council to consider rent control. we were in mountain view where the tenant coalition held rally in front of city hall. the group says rising rents in silicon valley have made it unaffordable for many renters. they're seeing double-digit rent increases and more evictions because low income tenants are not able to afford the cost of living. >> we need to have some consideration of the right of those families to live here, not simply the right of the landlord to make as much money as possible. >> the coalition wants the city council to enact a rent stabilization policy during the december 1st council meet. >> the golden state warriors are chasing history if. if the win in denver they'll tie the record for the best start in nba history. lilian kim is live in san francisco where fans are cheering on our defending champs. >> reporter: we spoke to fans

u.s. coast guard crew members aboard a cutter based in

alameda return home just in time for the holidays. they arrived back to coast guard island today after 106 day deployment at sea. the photos were provided by the coast guard. crew members completed weapons testing and certification while they were away and helped rescue a sick fisherman in the bering sea. 120 crew members were assigned to the vessel. >> this weekend is the 20th 20th anniversary of the first "toy story" movie produced by pixar. >> couple of guys who weren't alive when it came out are giving it special tribute. they're doing a live action remake of "toy story iii" they have been work only this project since 2011. they have build their own detailed version of andy's room in their family's house. they say they love the movie and want to share what they're doing with pixar fans all over the world are and posting their progress on the tumblr page and
