>> gunfire interrupts shoppers getting a head start. the prompt for the shooter causes police to lock down a busy shopping garage near union square. i'm dan ashley jie. i'm ama daetz. the shooting happened after 6:30 on mission street between fourth and fifth. on one side of the street there is the westfield shopping center. >> on the other side the fifth and mission parking garage. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo has the story. >> the parking garage was shutdown for two hours while police systematically searched every floor and every car. the shooter got away. the victim is in critical condition, but expected to survive. >> i just hear a bunch of shots, three, four shots. everybody outside started running inside, everybody. >> chaotic and scary. he was actually in the parking garage when he heard the gunfire. >> the shots kept going on and everybody started screaming and ducking for cover like a bomb had gone off. >> he took cover too, but not before seeing the man who had

the push alerts. new video released from the san francisco police department. it shows the two men under arrest in connection with this vicious smartphone robbery near union square. the victim wassing nod to the ground by the suspects and kicked repeatedly in the face. they escaped with his phone. this morning police arrested durie and otis doss. happening now a cold snap is gripping the bay area. this is a live picture from our abc7 roof camera. expect even colder temperatures tomorrow if you have thanksgiving plans outside. >> we have team coverage and let's start with meteorologist sandhya patel with just how cold it is gonna get and the accu-weather forecast. >> dan, bone chilling cold in some parts of the bay area. look at the numbers right now. you'll notice we are just 2 degrees above freezing in santa rosa, novato and san ramon. as you look at the 24-hour temperature change we are running cooler, oakland livermore down 10, 13 in half

the season. >> what are you hoping for the season. >> more snowstorms. >> abc7 news. >> luggage tossed around with complete disregard. a passenger boarding a flight shot this video during the height of a thanksgiving travel rush. it looks bad, but tonight the airline that these employees work for say it is not exactly what it seems. abc7 news reporter alan wang is live at mineta san jose with new details on the story. >> dan, this is all about perception. alaska airlines says the video shows employees playing a game with a piece of luggage that does not belong to any passengers. the person who shot the video said he has no idea -- he said that he was alarmed and no idea it was a game. the video shows alaska airline employees tossing a suitcase on a service road at mineta san jose. they shot the video while

waiting in terminal b. we spoke to him via face time from caramel, indiana. >> each employee had a turn to see how far they could throw this -- what looked like a passenger's bag. >> they responded saying regrettably our employees were tossing a company roll aboard bag filled with magazines as part of a game. no passenger bag was used for this activity. this game should not have been played a airport. >> i am all for having fun and a good time. everybody has a good sense of humor, but in today's day and age when you are at the airport it is not a place to be joking around. >> we showed it to somebody else. >> i doubt it is full of a magazines and paper. it doesn't make sense. i would lose faith in the airline. >> it was not a passenger bag and if it is the employee bag i guess it is fine.

already 30 in novato and 36 livermore. down toward the south bay, upper 30s to the low 40s. 42 degrees in san jose. you know it will be cold tomorrow morning so you need your boots and a heavy coat to keep you warm. freezing temperatures the next few mornings. we are looking at cool and sunny days into the weekend with a chance of rain on monday. here is a look at the satellite-radar. the cold storm that came through left its mark. we have the colder air moving in from the north. it is coming over land so we are expecting freezing nights ahead. how cold some it is just below freezing. 27 in santa rosa and 28 in napa. just above freezing in vallejo. 36 fremont and 34 concord. it will get cold in fairfield low 40s oakland and 38 in

san mateo. you may see a little frost out there. if you park your car outside be prepared to scrape the ice off your wind shield. black friday doesn't get any better. it will be cold. low to mid30s. on saturday morning the chill is with us. the upper 20s showing up again. we could see some of the coldest air of the season. we hang on to the cold weather in our inland valleys. now tomorrow just in case you want to get a quick walk in before your thanksgiving plans, watch out for the higher than normal tides. we are looking at just after 11:00 a.m. seven feet. now speaking of friday morning a lot of you out there are heading out to do black friday shopping and some are brave enough to get out there on thursday night. at 8:00 tomorrow night we are looking at clear conditions. it will be cool. the temperature will be dropping into the upper 30s at 4:00 a.m.
