those concerns. >> we'll do our best to bring you the very latest. >> developing news in san jose. homicide investigators around the scene where a body was discovered near a creek on bayberry road. david, what are they say sng. >> well, they are still investigating this active crime scene, larry. police have been here since 11:00 this morning, ever since a man walking this dog came by. now, the body was discovered along pine hollow court, circle, rather. a well-kept neighborhood. neighbors reported hearing noise last night, possibly the sound of a gunshot. police are not saying how long the body has been hereov or wha condition it is in. sky 7 hd was overhead a short time ago. adjacent to the creek which runs between this neighborhood and may berry road.

it's not clear whether any neighbors could see the bodies from their homes. the first report came from the man who would identify himself only as joseph. we also hear from a police lieutenant who is hoping one of the neighbors might have video of how the body got here. >> i was down here. i was walking by with a dog and just saw a body. >> we canvassed the immediate area of anything and are doing a crime investigation. >> the witness who recollects discovered the body, has been taken downtown by homicide detectives to get more details from them. at this point, police are calling this a suspicious death. nobody is saying if the man was killed here or elsewhere and his body dumped here. now, the investigation will continue by police. they want to identify who the man is and try to find out precisely where he was killed and how he died.

we are live in san jose, david louis, abc 7 news. >> thank you. we have more breaking news right now in san francisco where the bomb squad is investigating a suspicious situation that occurred at a bank on post street. what's the situation there? >> well, the good news is that the bomb squad did go in and they did pikd up a suspicious package and they actually brought in a quarantined that they'd set up. you can see that right now, the street is still blocked off. that's because they are still investigating what that suspicious package is. probably about 20 minutes ago or so, a police officer tells me ilgts's not very clear as to whether that guy left or why it was a suspicious situation.

but they apparently do have video tape of this person walking into the bank, putting that bag on the counter and that's when someone inside the bank called police and they mobilized here very quickly. blocked off this area and then they did call in the bomb squad. at this point, as i had mentioned, the bomb squad has taken possession of that package. they are investigating it at this point. as you can see for the moment, part of the street here is still blocked off. as soon as we have further details, i'll be sure to update you. reporting live in san francisco, abc 7 news. >> thank you so much. and all of this happening on what we've come to know as black friday. usually, the big shopping day on thanksgiving provides enough chaos of its own, but not so much this year. alyssa? >> reporter: it is busy at this bestbuy in pleasant hill where shoppers are picking up big ticket items. many tell me it's not as

competitive this year. holiday deals are available for several days now stretching beyond black friday. a lot of people are choosing to shop online. >> this is what you might imagine when you think of black friday. extreme deal seekers camped out for days. but this year, stores are noticing something different. many shoppers are showing up later. >> i saw it pulled in. i think that's due to people catching onto cyber mund. >> it starts thanksgiving and continues through the very popular cyber monday. the manager of bestbuy in pleasant hill says sales today are strong but operates online deals is a crucial part of their business. >> black friday is obviously huge. it's very traditional, for retailers. but the way it has changed, cyber monday is a big part of calculating a successful start to the holiday season for retailers.

>> 183 million people are expected to place orders online cyber monday. others are still willing to bear long lines today. she got a deal on a play station. >> i just want to get it today. other than that, it's best to come in and ask questions. that way, you don't have to mail it and return it. >> several people i talked to are very turned off that businesses opened up on thanksgiving and they say they don't want to support this holiday tradition. >> alyssa, thank you. small businesses across the nation are hoping for large crowds on saturday. plaid friday launched to promote holiday shopping at local retailers.

you need the winter gear, the 5:00 jacket, the hat, the scarf, the gloves. by midnight, we're cold in spots with temperatures in the 30s and 40s. we'll let you know how long this chilly air lasts. >> all right, drew, i see you've added the scarf. next time we check in with you, it will be parka. >> flames gut ted a restaurant for downtown berkley for three decadings. abc 7 news reporter bernard says the fire forced many people from their homes. >> the fire was intense. smoke and flames 14509ing through the roof of the two-story mandarin garden restaurant around 9:00 a.m. firefighters attacking the flames from all sides. michael henderson lives in the apartment building next door. he was told to evacuate.

>> we had a knock on the door from the upstairs neighbor. i noticed that a the flames are just leaping really high. >> this is the second time the fire department got 9-1-1 call. >> acting deputy chief says her crews left the restaurant around 3:00 a.m. when they thought the fire was out. >> we don't know if it's the rekindle of the original fire. >> jeffrey ho says two fire ins one night was very unnerving. >>. >> we woke back up and it was intense. it was pretty much the color of my jacket. >> i finally gotten it out. >> luckily, no one was hurt. a family living above the restaurant got out safely. the fire department is

investigating to make sure the original fire they thought was put out really was. in berkley, abc 7 news. >> fire investigators in concord tell abc 7 news it may take a while to determine the exact cause of a fire that burned down a furniture warehouse. the fire marshal says it's just too dangerous to enter the roof. it just collapsed. losses could be into the millions. firefighters say furniture packed inside helped fuel what was an out-of-control blaze. the company's ceo says it helped secure a new space and will be back in business by next week. >> for a senior citizen and the fund who takes care of her, the future may be a shelter or the streets. it's a hard reality for many who lev on the peninsula. the rents have skyrocketed. vick lee visited them today. here's the story. >> reporter: 8 >> reporter: 80-year-old ramona,

. the state is running out of the decals that allow plug-in hybrids with a solo driver to use the car pool lanes. fewer than 4,000 of the 85,000 green, clear-air vehicle decals are available. the stickers will last only a few more weeks. lawmakers have increased the total of stickers three times as the popularity of those plug-in

chilly in the north bay. 57 in oakland, 56, san jose and 57 for santa rosa. the coldest morning happens on sunday. a lot of 20s on the board. livermore, below the freezing mark. down to 41. we'll start to recover a bit monday morning. but as you can see, by tuesday morning, we really rid ourselves of this cold air. the accuweather seven day forecast, very chilly tomorrow. that chill hangs on for monday, as well. and then we begin to step up the temperatures with our next chance of rain coming on thursday. so the layers are going to be key for this weekend. >> chp officers don't need their helmets and boots for this hog.

. we have an unfortunate update to the shooting outside of planned parenthood. two people have died, one civ civilian and one police officer. the gunman started shooting around noon today and then got into a long standoff and shoot out with police before they captured him about 4:00 our time. we don't know the motive or the conditions of at least six other victims. world news tonight will have more couverage of the story coming up next. >> chp officers in santa rosa made an unusual discovery today. responders were called this morning of a loose animal and they found this pig, a big pig. officers poegsed the pictures on
