case. administrators in a san francisco school are looking for help to pay for bike that's were stolen over the weekend. 26 mountain bikes were taken from a shed on visitation valley middle school. students use the bikes in a p.e.class. the principal believes they're more than just a piece of the school. >> this is a tough neighborhood to grow up in and to be in. and kids come to school for escape from that. they want something that is positive, structured. someone they can count on. >> the bikes were worth more than $9,000. there is a gofundme page and we have a link on our website. the number of baseball bats chained at street poles is up to 34. the bats have nails sticking out of them but no one has been hurt. police are asking for help finding out who is putting them on the streets. police say since they could be

stabbed to death here in her home. the man police are hooking for, straw's former boyfriend, 22-year-old anthony. it was a stormy, violent relationship. in late september, police were called to the house. >> he unfortunately beat her. she ended up to the hospital. >> he was arrested and charged of convicted of felony assault and domestic violence. in october, straw got a restraining order against him. the second filed this year. this summer, a judge issued an order against the former roommate but this proved deadly. he was just released from jail after serving 60 days of a 120 day sentence. >> he completed his sentence last week so the violation of the restraining order is when he allegedly committed this murder.

a newborn that was buried alive is speaking out today. >> that baby may have just been a day old and would not have survived much longer. >> our sister station in los angeles has the story. >> deputy adam carlett has only been with the sheriff's department about a year. the day after thanksgiving he experienced what he called a miracle. they went to this bike path, two women reported hearing a baby cry. >> my first thought is that, you know maybe an animal stuck in the fence or had fallen over, then, we see, you know, they're telling us we hear it here. we hear the cry. >> he said he didn't think he'd find a baby inside of a two foot wide hole covered with dirt and asphalt. >> we're getting closer to the sound, pulling asphalt chunks. it's not going to be a baby. then, i saw the blanket, oh,

wow, it's a baby. >> according to doctors the newborn could have been there hours, but survived. >> it was a miracle. there is a sense of god in that as well. >> reporter: the detective working overtime that night witnessed the rescue. she's nicknamed the child. >> i saw the case from the beginning and i call her baby grace. just for the sheer fact she had that will to live. >> reporter: authorities are asking the baby's mother to come forward and are concerned for her well being. >> we're lucky. two women heard the baby and happened to pass by. if they were not alert or had not called for help, we may have lost this precious life. >> reporter: one of two women first heard the cries taking a walk. she prayed god blesses her and that she finds a loving family. officials say baby grace and hundreds of children in need of homes.
