new details about that deadly shooting in california. good afternoon and thank you for joining us today. >> yesterday's mass shooting could have been much worse. police revealed today the suspects had a massive supply of ammunition and explosives. they still don't know the motive yet. they're trying to determine how he became radicalized and whether he was in contact with any parent terror organizations. >> and we're starting to learn

about the lives of the 17 people who were injured yesterday. >>. >> for much of the past 24 hoirs, we've been talking about two people the couple that wreaked all of this havoc on this town and the nation as a whole. this baseball field will become a place to honor. >> reporter: not a church or stadium, but a gas station corner. total strangers meet, talk and bray near the site where 14 people died. >> they are very overwhelmed.

there are six kids who lost their father. renee is a stay-at-home mom, so they've also lost all of their financial support. the kids are just finding out today. >> reporter: another one of the lives lost, nicholas falasanos. his wife says he worked for an environmental inspected xx for the county. police say they found 6,000 rounds of am ymunition in their rent rented vans. >> there were hundreds of tools, many of which could be used to construct ieds or pipe bombs. >> as horrible as the shooting was, there could have been many more vick toims for strangers to pray for tonight.

yesterday, abc news has confirmed the two dropped off their six-month-old daughter telling family members they had a doctor's appointment. >>. >> coming up at 4:30, the growing concern in the u.s. >> valley medical center was locked down after somebody was spotted with a gun. >> this comes after people are still on edge. >> reporter: that lockdown was lifted moments ago. it was much heavier about 30 minutes ago. let's show you some video from sky 7 hd. a very tense reaction after someone reported an armed man on campus at the medical center.

the man was believed to be carrying a gun smmp on his body. we want to repeat, this was never an active shooter situation. we've confirmed with the sheriff's office that the men who matched the description has left the campus. they are to make that determination after reviewing some surveillance video. as we return live to valley medical credibilitier, law enforcement did not want to take any chances, especially considering what happened yesterday. reporting live here in san jose, chris wen, abc 7 muse. >> turning to our weather now and the rain. the rain came down, it was fast and furious in san francisco.

in the sierra, warnings are in effect until 6:00 tomorrow morning. another two to eight inches of snow could fall fween e between now and 8:00 a.m. it will be cloudy and then rain arrives early, around 7 or so. it's difficult to tell how much rain we can expect, but it doesn't look nearly as energetic. overnight, low temperatures in the mid to upper 40 e 40s.

here are the headlines at 4:30. one of the shooters in yesterday's attack used social media to contact extremists. this is according to the associated press. the two died in a shootout with police after they killed 14 people at a soeshl services center. investigators are trying to find out how he became radicalized and whether he was in contact with any foreign terrorist organization. >> no matter what motivation these killers had, we can say one thing for certain. they should not have been able to do this. if you wage jihad against america, you're signing your death warrant. there's no proof that the shooters are connected with isis. we're learning more about the 14 people helped killed in the attack.
