health scare tonight. >> hundreds of babies may have been exposed to tuberculosis putting them at risk of severe illness or even death. i'm ama daetz. >> i'm dan ashley. a nurse in san jose tested positive for tau berk tuberculosis. >> hundreds of newborns, mothers and other employees may have been exposed. katie is live at the hospital with the details. katie? >> ama and dan, the chance that this nurse gave tuberculosis to anyone here adult or infant is low, but because tb can be so dangerous for babies nobody is taking any chances. >> if this were to happen to any one baby that would be one baby too many. >> officials are trying to head off a health emergency. they say a nurse had active tuberculosis working with newborns between mid-august and mid-november and she didn't know it. >> she does not have cough and did not have cough and was mott coughing -- was not

coughing up tau beck low sis during the -- tuberculosis during the time she was working. >> while it delayed her diagnosis, it means she wasn't as contagious as she could have been. >> while she had active tb probably not able to spread it that well simply because the individual didn't have any symptoms at all. >> still, the hospital said 350 babies may have been exposed along with hundreds of moms and staff members. the adults will be screened and treated if necessary. they are recommending all of the babies be treated with a daily antibiotic for six to nine months. >> when a baby gets tuberculosis it can get into the blood stream and travel throughout the body to other areas including the brain which is the most feared complication. >> the public health department says santa clara county has the fourth highest rate of tb in california. abc7 news.

a san francisco police officer named today as one of the officers who shot and killed mario woods already faced a lawsuit for using excessive force during an incident in 2013. that officer is charles august. august shot woods along with officers nicholas cuevas and antonio santos. all of these officers are on administrative leave which is routine in this case. police tell us there are three different investigations into the shooting. his family has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit. the attorneys say video footage disputes the police accounts that woods threatened officers with a knife. >> he did not raise his hand in any threatening manner before the barrage of shots went against it. >> he redeemed himself. >> police say they are unable to comment on pending lawsuits. sky 7hd was there when a group of high school students

blocked traffic in union square. they marched and called for justice by woods and other people called by police. the fbi has pulled several items from a san bernadino lake as they search for evidence connected to last week's shooting rampage. they have not said what they fished out of the lake today. crews are looking for a computer hard drive belonging to the husband and wife attackers, farook and malik. police believe they threw it into the lake before killing 14 people and before being killed in a shootout with officers. investigators believe a fire at a mosque in riverside county was deliberately set. members of the mosque in coachella say someone firebombed the building. no one was hurt. flames damaged the front lobby. the fbi plans to assist local police in investigating exactly what happened here. campbell police want to find out if the same sexual predator targeted two girls and a woman. all three crimes took place near eden avenue and west rosemary lane. a man tried to lure two middle

school-aged girls into the truck. a woman reported a man exposing himself while he sat in the truck. one crime took place last month and the other two are this month. >> tis the season for crooks. they will steal the packages from your door, but in this case they captured the crime. palo alto police hope you can identify the man who swiped packages from a porch last saturday. detectives believe the man saw the package cs after driving -- packages after driving slowly through the neighborhood casing it. and watch this now. believe it or not a driver survived after this huge piece of metal flew right through his bmw windshield splitting it down the middle. san jose firefighters tweeted the picture along southbound interstate 280. the driver amazingly, thankfully escaped with just a scratch. he was alone in the suv. it appears the piece of metal

flew off the truck this afternoon. pg&e crews are working to turn the power back on after a transformer blew and power lines fell. a couple of cars are damaged, but no one was hurt. about 400 customers are in the dark. pg&e expects to have the lights back on by 11:45 tonight. tomorrow the streets of san francisco will be filled with jolly old elves. santa con is in 200 cities roughly at this point, but it started here 21 years ago. it is a party for some, but for others it is a nightmare. sergio is live in union square with more about this santa clad city wide party. >> according to santa con tradition people are supposed to meet at union square and drop off a present for the local police and fire department toy drive, and hen they are supposed to -- then they are supposed to circulate to the city for a pub crawl, but some say santa con21 years in is going a little over board.

per hour. future weather as we go hour by hour on your sunday, early on sunday morning 7:00 in the morning we are dealing with light scattered rain. what will happen on sunday, a steadier line of downpours develops first in the north bay and then slides to the south and east. by 11:00 the area is seeing downpours. and then it sinks to the south bay. by 1:00 you will see the heaviest rain in the south bay before the system exits on sunday afternoon. in terms of total rainfall, hatch an inch in most areas. if we see a downpour you could see close to an inch of rainfall by sunday afternoon. along with the rain, it is going to be windy out there. future tracker wind gust shows as the front moves through by 11:00 on sunday morning we may see frequent wind gusts over 40 miles per hour. and that could bring down some trees once again and perhaps some possible isolated power outages. along with the rain in the bay area the winter storm warning
