another storm headed our way. heavier rain, strong winds, lightning, even hail expected to arrive. let's go to our abc 7 news meteorologist with a look at the system. >> love doppler painting a quiet picture but tomorrow morning we'll be busy tracking our storm moving through. when to expect this storm to arrive where you live? north bay tomorrow morning between 5:00 and 8:00 a.m. the heart of the bay area between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., san francisco, oakland, concord, san mateo, fremont, and south bay after 10:00 in the money. one of the main concerns with this next storm system is strong winds. wind advisory goes into effect tomorrow morning. does include the north bay mountains, bay shoreline, east bay hills, peninsula coast, santa cruz mountains. the potentials there with these winds gusting near 50 miles per hour for downed trees and power lines to go down as well. we'll take a much closer look, go hour by hour on future weather with this storm in the full accuweather forecast.

as the bay area paragraphs for approaching rain, dangerous rip currents are already pounding the coast. abc 7 news was at fort point in san francisco where some big waves slammed the shoreline r. waves up to 17 feet from sonoma county down to monterey. and speaking of sonoma county, flooding blocked north and southbound lanes on highway 1 today. rising water and the russian river estuary from the last days of rain and high surf has flooded low-lying areas of jenner. >> go out with an excavator and open the river mouth to prevent flooding of jenner. this time with the heavy surf, we attempted to breach on tuesday. last tuesday. we weren't able to do it because of the high surf conditions. and we've been monitoring the site ever since. >> the agency hopes to get the heavy equipment out as soon as possible. heavenly mountain resort in tahoe living up to its name for skiers tonight. a viewer sent this video of lots of fresh powder and mostly clear

skies. talk about perfect conditions for rushing down the slopes. a winter storm warning will be in effect for south lake tahoe from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on sunday. they're looking at up to 3 inches of snow falling every hour. that's going to be late morning through early afternoon. we have breaking news in fairfield. two people are dead after an accident on northbound 680 at gold hill road. that was physical reported around 9:15. one lane closed right now. traffic is going to be slow going in that area. chp says the vehicle collided with something and then caught fire. you can always get breaking news alerts any time on our abc 7 news app. enable push alerts to get the latest updates. authorities have arrested this man, karl dial jr., accused of setting a mosque on fire. they say he burglarized the islamic sew side of coachella valley yesterday. witnesses say a fire bomb was thrown at the mosque's front door. they described hearing a loud boom before seeing flames.

firefighters contained those flames to the front lobby. several people were able to escape unharmed. >> sadness. it's a fabulous place, a social place for us. we just have to work on rebuilding it again. >> the mosque is about 75 miles from san bernardino where 14 people died in that terrorist attack by islamic extremists earlier this month. state and federal agencies are working together on that investigation. it happened after september 11th. now it's happening again. sikhs being wrongly identified as muslims being racially profiled and intimidated. there's a nationwide alert to sikhs to be careful out there. more now from our newsroom, lisa? >> reporter: two incidents on the same day in southern california have now caused sikhs to be on guard. one involved vandalism and the other a group of sikhs were singled out because of their turbans. >> turbans equate to terrorism

but it's not. >> reporter: just as all muslims are not terrorists, sikhs are not muslims. after a terrorist attack, sikhs often suffer backlash. someone threw acid on this man after september 11th. >> it's burning my skin too. so i don't know what. people think i belong to the muslim religion? no, i am sikh. >> reporter: now there's real concern for the safety of all sikhs. last week in orange county vandalism, "isis" and "islam" spray painted on the property. in san diego at the broncos/chargers group a security guard refused to let this group of young sikh men in unless they took off their turbans. they were allowed inside but then a bomb-sniffing dog checked their car. one of the men spoke with our sister station. >> it's bad. it's embarrassing for me. because we are americans. we are not supposed to be afraid

of fellow americans. >> reporter: it's a fear causing those at the san jose facility to step up security. cameras captured just about everything. still no one wants to take any chances. >> there's no doubt that you could have some ignorant people that are intent on intimidating these peace-loving folks. san jose police is upping its presence around the facility. president obama called today's historic climate agreement in paris "the best chance to save the one planet we have." the agreement signed by nearly every nation in the world calls on all countries to cut then eliminate greenhouse gas pollution. it aims to keep global temperatures from rising another 1.8 degrees fahrenheit between now and the year 2100. leaders from 195 nations agreed to shift away from carbon-based fuels in the future. oakland mayor libby schaaf, just back from paris, says the world was listening. >> paris just shows that the

you need to look at this bmw, pierced by a huge piece of metal on i-280 in san jose yesterday. the beam fell off a truck. it bounced off the roadway ask crashed through the windshield and the driver's seat. amazingly the man driving survived. >> and guessing the reaction time or the distance between the beam falling, striking the ground, then coming into his windshield, probably less than two seconds. so very lucky. and yeah, avoided a catastrophe right there. san jose fire tweeted out this photo, joking that after confirming the driver was fine he should maybe consider going out and buying a lottery ticket. >> the organizers of burning man are asking to be exempt from an upstate of nevada state tax. they believe the newly amended tax on live entertainment unfairly targets the annual

festival in the desert as a funding source for state projects. the organizers say it could cost them nearly $3 million and force them to raise the ticket prices so they are challenging this. ticket prices won't actually be set until they hear back from the taxation department. uh-huh! it is that time of year for one of san francisco's biggest pub crawls. the streets swarmed with santas of all kinds today for santa-con. the holiday tradition started 21 years ago. it was supposed to be poking fun at christmas consumerism. some people now see it as just a chaotic party. and in fact there are some bars in san francisco that have banned people who are dressed as any holiday figure. santa-con participants are encouraged to donate gifts to children in need. there's a little more writing this year on the success of a local tree lot. every christmas tree sold is helping a woman heal.

the tough diagnosis the family faces this holiday. >> reporter: this is the fourth year the family have sold christmas trees in half moon bay but this year stephanie has kept an eye on business from inside this little green box. >> i like your little booth there. it's nice. >> reporter: she would like to be out on the lot but the booth protects her from the elements. >> i go into the trailer, if it's too cold, i need to make sure i don't get sick, it will delay my treatment. >> reporter: she was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. her husband is rattled by the diagnosis. >> i wish you could blink and it's all over and she's healed. that's not the case. it's going to take time. >> reporter: this battle with cancer has added a new sense of urgency for this crop of christmas trees. christmas tree season stretches from the day after thanksgiving till christmas eve. but the family hope to have all of their trees sold by the end of next week. tony hopes to spend as much time with stephanie as possible because her treatments are going

they are now analyzing them for any connection to syed farook and tashfeen malik. officials say the couple tried to cover their tracks by destroying e-mails and cell phones and other items at their house. today more victims laid to rest. amy powell from our sister station in l.a. has their stories. >> reporter: pain and heartache for the family members and friends who gathered for the funeral of isaac amanios, the 60-year-old was one of the 14 killed in the san bernardino attack. relatives say he moved from africa to the u.s. in 2000, seeking a better life. amanios was the father of three college-aimed children. >> a resolute, decisive, and i would say one of the most honest people i know. >> reporter: during funeral services in jessop, georgia, the hometown of shooting victim shannon johnson, loved ones paid tribute to the 45-year-old calling him a natural-born hero. >> shannon's fearless. he's always been that way.

i didn't realize until we got older just how much he's always about taking care of those that can't take care of themselves. >> reporter: denise peraza, one of the shooting ving tip hot survived, credits johnson with saving her life. she says as bullets flew johnson wrapped an arm around her and said, "i got you." at an emotional final farewell for tin nguyen. she was planning her wedding when she was killed. relatives say the 31-year-old always had a big smile on her face. >> she was our angel. she is still our angel. even though she's gone up to heaven. we pray that her life and the other lives lost -- >> at each one of today's

funerals loved ones called on those gathered to remember the other victims of the tragedy. i'm amy powell for abc 7 news. two syrians arrested in switzerland have no clear link to the men suspected of planning a terrorist attack in geneva this week. police arrested them in a vehicle that had traces of explosives. the search continues for at least four men with the islamic state group isis, suspected of planning a specific attack in the city. those men are linked to last month's deadly attacks in paris. in florida cell phone video shows a woman getting into a fight with a state trooper at the dmv. >> listen to me -- >> listen to me! these are the people -- >> a dmv employee says eleanor stern called her a servant, they asked her to leave. the trooper stepped in, she kicked him, he threw her to the ground. the trooper finally managed to take her to a back room.

clear, san francisco, east bay, and all the bay area. this is abc 7 news. an early christmas for some bay area kids fighting cancer. abc 7 news was in san jose where the police department turned its air hangar into the north pole for the cops care cancer foundation's annual christmas fantasy flight event. st. nick opted for a chopper and brought gifts to 45 bay area children who are battling the disease. bay area officers and firefighters help hand out gift toth those kids' siblings and donated items to their families who are in need this holiday. it's tough to find some people the perfect gift.
