sunrise when we see the heavy rain push our way. we have a wind advisory. south winds of ahead of it ramping up to 24 miles an hour in santa rosa. gusts at 20 at half moon bay. this is nothing. with the front we will see 20 to 40 miles per hour winds. mild aromas ahead of it in the 50s. this is the warm front we are having right now. a lot to come. we have fog, as well. temperatures will be cooler, low snow levels and the possibility of a be thunderstorm. about >> here are some tips before the storm hits. have a flashlight with batteries ready to go in case the power goes out. keep your cell phone charged and have a portable charging device handy. if you have a stand by generators make sure pg&e checks to make sure it's installed safely to avoid damage to your

home. as the latest storm hits the bay area, dangerous rip currents are pounding the coast. abc7 news was at park point in san francisco yesterday where big waves slammed the shoreline. there were waves up to 17 feet from sonoma county down to monterey. and flooding brought north and southbound lanes highway one yesterday. low lying areas are flooded in jenner. >> this time with the heavy surf , we reached a breach on tuesday. tuesday we weren't able to do it because of the high surf conditions. we've been to monitoring the site ever since. >> the county water agency hopes to get the heavy equipment out as soon as possible. when you get unusual weather where you live, take a photo or

video and share it with us using the # abc7 now. that will help us find your contact and use it on the error at abc7news.com. developing news out of fairfield this morning. two people are dead after a three-car accident on northbound 680 last night at gold hill road. the chp said a jeep was speeding when it collided with a town car, which caused a chain reaction and then hit a toyota. the force of the collisions trapped the two people inside the town car. it burst into flames. the other two drivers are in stable condition. officers believe drugs or alcohol could be to blame. authorities have arrested this man, carle dile junior of setting a mosque on fire. he burglarized a building on friday. witnesses say a fire bomb was thrown at the mosque's front door. they described hearing a loud

boom before seeing flames. firefighters contained the flames to the building's front lobby. several people inside escaped unharmed. >> tragic, actually. it's a family place. it's a social place for us. we just have to work on rebuilding it again >> the mosque is about 75 miles from san bernardino where 14 people died in a terrorist attack by islamic extremists earlier this month. state and federal authorities are working together in the investigation. it happened after september 11th, now it's happening again, sikhs being wrongly identified asmus limbs are being racially profiled and intimidated. now there's a nationwide alert for sikhs to be careful. lisa has the story. >> turbines are miss identified >> sikhs are not muslims. but after a terrorist attack

>> welcome back. this is a live look at doppler 7hd. everywhere you see the green means scattered light to rain. it was raining on the way into the studio. the showers are going to pick up around sunrise. lisa argen along shortly with a full accuweather forecast. the organizers of burning man are asking to be exempt from an updated nevada state tax. they believe the newly-amended tax on live entertainment unfairly targets the annual art and music festival and a funding source for state projects. the organizers say it could cost them nearly $3 million and force them to raise ticket prices. they are challenging it. ticket prices won't be set until they hear back from the nevada taxation department. happening today the family of the baby girl who disappeared

looking for evidence. investigators are still looking for a computer hard drive and anything else linked to the husband and wife shooters who killed 14 people. divers have pulled items from the water. they are now analyzing them to see if there's any connection to the two. officials say the couple tried to cover their tracks by destroying e-mails, cell phones and other items at their home. yesterday more victims were laid to rest. abc news reporter amy from our sister station in l.a. has their stories. >> pain and heartache for the family members and friends who gathered for the funerals of isaac amanois. he's one of the 14 killed in the attacks. he moved from from africa to u.o seek a better life.

some delays certainly to stack up. here's live doppler 7hd where the bulk of the activity is around mount shasta where it is raining. another hour, hour and a half it will be through santa rosa, and then pressing through the bay area quickly. and with some heavy downpours at times. so as we go in closer, this is scattered light rain on the coast from montara, perhaps redwood city and it's been misty and drizzly in oakland. up north heavier rain. sonoma county picked up over a half-inch in the last 24 hours. it's bp pretty consistent on and off. they just had a heavy downpour in middleton. and the warm weather, 250 and 80. a winter storm warning through the evening hours. the snow is really going to pick up between 10:00 and 4:00 in the afternoon. so you can see the fog out here from emeryville. these numbers will drop throughout the day. except morgan hill you come up a

bit. mild, anywhere from 20 degrees warmer in spots to about 10 to 15 degrees warmer for a low to mid-50s. you can see the wet weather here blowing throughout the golden gate bridge. we are looking at the gusty winds up to some 40 miles an hour throughout the day. it's 50 by the delta and more 50s on the coast. it's been gusty at half moon bay, santa rosa and elsewhere. hasn't gotten going yet but the winds behind the front and question will have some strong winds, anywhere from 40 to 50 miles per hour. that could possibly bring down a few trees and maybe even a power line. with the fog in santa rosa, san francisco, it's very slick out there. just going to get worse before it gets better. possibility of a thunderstorm with the passage of the front and maybe mt. hamilton could see a little bit of dusting of snow. our storm impact scale with this one on the way in the next few hours about bring down the downpours and we ranked it a

number two. at 6:00 you notice the heavy band of rain and the cold front to the north. by 8:00 it's still pressing through santa rosa, pushing into marin county. at 9:00 it's oakland and emeryville and san mateo. but san jose and santa clara, looks like about 10:00 and afterwards, through 1:00 you will get the heaviest downpours here, the very gusty winds. it will last throughout the early afternoon. then the showers here. with the colder air, this is where we could get that thunderstorm activity or snow accumulation. we are looking at about a half-inch for most. and more in the higher elevations. take a look at the wind profile. it starts out with the gusty winds but as the front pushes through we have 40 miles an hour winds at point reyes. 44 san francisco. 9:00 san jose, not to be outdone at 25, 30 miles an hour gusts. at 4:00 we are still gusty along the coast. see sierra nevada looking it he winter storm warning throughout the day. in fact know two to three inches per hour, anywhere from a foot

fun in the south bay as fourthing annual santa run returns to silicon valley. the run benefits the christmas in the park tradition in san jose. thousands of participants are expected to run this morning dressed as santa claus or other holiday favorites in downtown san jose. and right before the run there's a kids fun run for children ages 2 to 7. festivities begin at 1:00 this afternoon. the race starts at 3:00 at the intersection should be of santa clara street and almadine boulevard. coming up next, two people are dead following a chain reaction crash in solano county. what investigators say may have been a factor in the freeway accident. and here is a live look at live doppler 7hd. the storm is pushing through the bay area. meteorologist lisa argen will tell us when the heaviest rain will be falling.
