bushy terrain. >> let's go live to janet oh with new information tonight. janet? >> reporter: crews found the remnants of the plane on palomares road. deputies will be here throughout the night and awaiting national transportation safety board and faa to arrive and also waiting for the coroner, who will decide if they'll be able to retrieve the body and get it out of the steep, hilly area. the challenge is the terrain here. first, crews have been out here in the thick forested area, looking for the wreckage, which they did find. they also found one person who is believed to be the pilot and the only person on board. the sacramento bee confirmed the pilot that was flying to work. we learned it was a single

engine piper pa 32. flames could be seen that erupted from the crash. the pilot lost control with air traffic control around 11:30 this morning. alameda county fire along with several agencies were part of the efforts and because of the fog and rain and wind, they were not able to hear the aircraft to help locate the wreckage. officials believe the weather may have played a role in this crash. a sheriff's spokesperson describes the scene. >> it's a large area of wreckage. it looked like the plane may have clipped from tree tops before crashing into the ground. it's a rough, difficult terrain. you've probably had three inches of rain here so it's muddy and slippery. difficult to get to. >> reporter: yes. two alameda county firefighters are being treated for minor injuries. the faa will be investigating

court house with the latest tonight. vic? >> reporter: his supporters say he is innocent and that he actually went to help refugees in syria, not terrorists and should be granted bail. prosecutors say he's a flight risk and a danger to the community. 40 to 50 friends and supporters packed the courtroom. the prosecutor argued that the 22-year-old should not be granted bail because he was committed to joining an al qaeda affiliated group. his new york attorney asked that his client be confined to his parents home in fremont, arguing that quote, religious rhetoric doesn't always translate into conduct. a federal grand jury indicted him, seen in this photo for attempting to join the terror group. in 2014, his own father notified

the u.s. embassy in cairo when adam disappeared during a family vacation in egypt. the fbi affidavit says adam sent a techt message to remembera tiff one that said that he had gone to protect muslims. he had gone to istanbul, then returned home to the bay area. in june, the fbi began listening to his phone conversations with investigators saying he wanted to join extremists. in june, he booked a one way ticket to istanbul. the fbi put him on bart back to fremont. the judge denied bail. here is one of his supporters. >> he's not a risk for anyone. maybe said something foolish. >> we're disappointed but intend to take it to the district judge on appeal.

>> reporter: he is back in court next month. vic lee, abc7 news. a 19-year-old man suspected of driving drunk hit a total of six cars last night in south san jose, killing a man. chris nguyen is live at the santa clara county hall of justice with details tonight. chris, this isn't the first brush with the law apparently. >> reporter: dan, you're right. we learned that prior to last night's crash, the suspect had two other warrants out for his aest. we reached out to him this afternoon but he declined a request for comment. san jose police say this man, a 19-year-old from san jose is responsible for a drunk driving rampage that went for a mile and a half. police tell us the path of destruction began here in capitol expressway. the suspect hit one vehicle on the way out of the lot and another as he approached the expressway. according to police, villalobos

drove south, hitting two parked cars before making a u-turn on el cajon drive. then ran a light and crashed into a volkswagon beetle. >> that caused the volkswagon to be pushed north and the vehicle impacted directly with the driver's side door. we believe that killed the driver of the volkswagon. >> reporter: a total of six vehicles were struck by the suspect. >> after striking that volkswagon, the suspect continued northbound and struck another vehicle southbound, preparing to make a left turn. >> reporter: the coroner identified the man as a 36-year-old from san jose. his next of kin has been notified. villalobos was booked for felony drunk driving, hit and run and two previous warrants. he was arraigned today on unrelated charges and is expected to be back in court to face charges related to the

a just-released chp inspection finds the tour bus company at the center of this crash has multiple violations. investigators looked at six vehicles besides one that crashed. abc7 news joins us live with insight from one inspector. melanie? >> reporter: we're still waiting for the results of the inspection into the vehicle that crashed but in the meantime, chp looked at six other vehicles in this recent inspection and found they're unsatisfactory. the report also outlines driver violations. chp found 60% of the buses had violations. >> they were unsatisfactory

across the board. >> the inspector said he inspected six tour buses other than the bus that crashed in union square. and says the most-significant violations were mechanical, including nonworking brake lights, nonworking emergency exits and a loose steering component. >> it could have taken the steering off. >> reporter: according to the report, city sight seeing did not require drivers to submit daily vehicle inspection reports and other violations not inspecting vehicles every 45 days and not reporting a documented problem and drivers not be drug tested or background checked and for a year have not been enrolled in a full notice system, enabling the dmv to notify city sight seeing if the driver gets a dui.
