tense moments this morning at oakland international airport. flight 2547 coming in for a landing. the pilots discovered the issue and made the decision to turn around. the plane circled nearly four hours to burn fuel before making that safe landing. >> the pilots coming out of the cockpit, that is really alarming. i heard oxygen masks. i heard "we're going to have to fly low". >> it was a tense part of flying low and making sure that the gear was out and visible. >> the two passengers decided they'll wait until tomorrow to fly out again. we're looking live now at traffic. 90% of the travellers are expected to drive. this is the skyway

condition but we tow one went to the hospital to be checked out. >> daytime fire didn't get a lot of headway. we have damage to the roof, and some interiors. >> residents say the flames spread from the chimney to the roof, and attic. a fire broke out at a storage facility before 3:00 p.m. crews got the fire under control about a half hour later. two employees in san francisco archdiocese have accused the archdiocese of committing fraud and forcing workers to sign illegal waiver forms. the director of communications released a statement saying

the woman charged with a deadly crash on the las vegas strip made a court appearance today. she did not enter a plea to charges of murder, and hit and run and child abuse. one person died and 30 others were injured in the crash. an indictment issued today for a truck driver involved in a crash that injured comedian tracy morgan. the truck driver was indicted on

charges of manslaughter, vehicular homicide and sag vated assault. it will be until after the holidays before we learn why a small plane crashed in castro valley. sky 7 hd returned to the site today. crews are trying to recover the body of the pilot. he was on his way to oakland yesterday morning when he lost contact with air traffic control. search teams suited up to get to the scene of the wreckage. >> my goal is to document the wreckage as it came to rest. i'll take photos and give measurements and things like that. we're going to wait to do more thorough examinations once the wreckage is recovered. >> the final reports will take months, officials say. the young man police say was responsible for a fatal drunk driving rampage in south san jose made his first court appearance today, chris nguyen is live with new information in

this story. chris? >> reporter: we have learned this afternoon that the suspect was driving on a suspended license at that time of the accident. he said very little today today, prosecutors charged carlos villalobos with vehicular manslaughter, three hit and run and another misdemeanor for driving on a suspended license. the judge set bail at $265,000. >> the high amount of bail is indicative of the court taking the matter as seriously as it deserves to be taken. >> reporter: a makeshift memorial stands as a reminder of a senseless act. >> it's an unfortunate and tragic reminder of the consequences from driving under the influence of alcohol. police say villalobos was

behind the wheel during a drunk driving rampage. he ended here at this intersection. multiple crime scenes, and six cars were struck. a 36-year-old from san jose died at the scene. the victim's family is in touch with represents from the district attorney's office. >> they have had an opportunity to sit down with the victim's wife, explain the process and what is going to happen next. the circumstances of the case and answer questions they might have. >> reporter: villalobos faces a maximum term of four years for felony counts and six months in jail or a $1,000 fine for each one of the misdemeanor counts. in san jose, abc7 news. happening now, a music and comedy show to raise money for a man shot and killed by san francisco police. police say mario woods refused

september 11th memorial. it is dedicated to victims of the september 11th attacks as well as three hayward police officers and a firefighter dying in the line of duty, including sergeant scott lunger. a baby-sitter is under arrest, accused of killing an 18-month-old baby in her care. police say she shook him and dropped him on the floor. the autopsy showed the baby suffered a severe brain injury. attorneys for jahi mcmath's family announced they have filed a federal lawsuit to have the teenager ruled legally alive. jahi was declared brain dead following throat and neck surgery at ucsf hospital. she's on a vent later in a new jersey hospital. the suit requests the restoration of her fundamental
