now at 11:00, bundle up. a damp december day as we take a live look from our beautiful embarcadero building. some areas will see frost again in the morning. >> let's get right to the abc news meteorologist and live doppler 7hd. >> let's look at the live doppler 7-d. you can notice some of the clouds around and most of those have disappeared and we have some lippingerring clouds and some fog that is formed. the current temperatures most areas are in the 30s. napa is one of the coldest at 31 . most have been higher in the last 24 hours. there is a lot of low-level moisture in the air. 33 in livermore. low 40s oakland and san francisco and 38 san mateo and 36 san jose.

dry conditions earlier today. we did have some measurable light showers and drizzle. those few hundredths of an inch, but it is nothing compared to the storms coming. a detailed look at the new year's eve forecast and the weekend coming up. >> thank you, sandhya. we have been getting snow in tahoe. bone dry and covered in fresh snow. on the left you are look at last april's snowpack in the sierra and on the right the one just taken today. the first survey of the season at the philips station off highway 50 is 136% of average. that's good news for california's water outlets, but still not enough to make a department in our drought jie. a good part of the snowpack will soak into the ground before we see it as runoff. >> snow melt provide 30% of the state's fresh water supply. we need a solid four months of storm activity just for the reservoirs to recover from the drought.

from road conditions to the latest forecasts stay on top of the changing weather. download it for free at abc7news.com/apps and ensure to enable push alerts. police agencies are on the hunt for a serial robber targeting gas stations. it shows the masked man police are trying to find. he is believed to have hit up gas stations across the bay area including several stores in san leandro. the most recent robbery happened in walnut creek and that's where we find alan wang live tonight. alan? >> ama, the guy walked right into this valero gas station and robbed the clerk at gunpoint around 5:30 this morning. he has struck five times in the last nine days and now police are afraid his violent behavior will escalate with every new robbery he commits. the armed serial robber was wearing the same blackout fit when he struck the valero gas station in walnut creek early on wednesday morning.

but this was the first time he ventured outside the san leandro area. >> he is desperate for the money. >> san leandro police say he robbed four 7-eleven stores within four days. last monday he hit this one on 136th avenue and east 14th street. the following wednesday he robbed this one on davis street. an employee pressed a panic button and police arrived just minutes after the robber left. 20 minutes later he was .ing a semi-- interest poking a semiautomatic happened gun at the clerk on manor boulevard. in cases like this it is increasingly dangerous. >> the next day on christmas eve he struck again at this 7-eleven store on 167th avenue and foothill boulevard. the store clerk says the robber cleaned out the register the same way he has every other robbery. >> i think it is pretty crazy. i think people need to realize that there is not enough money

to rob anybody. >> the suspect is about 5-9 inches tall. the employees say he seems familiar with each store, and he always strikes in the early morning hours between 3:30 and 5:30 a.m. alan wang, abc7 news. fairfield police have identified a boy whose grandmother con ease ifed to drowning him. he died at a home on tuesday morning and his grandmother told police that she drowned him in the bathtub. police arrested her based on a confession and she is now in the solano county jail. a relative finds it hard to believe. >> she would never do anything like this. the whole family loves her and we don't see her doing anything like this whatsoever. >> now this part is equally stunning. last january she post ed on her facebook page she had to quiet an unruly young grandson with a, quote, karate-style kick. there is no indication if the

boy she mentioned was richard kite. tonight comedian bill cosby is free on a million dollars bail. this is the mug shot released of the 78-year-old, but cosby's charges follow years of allegations by dozens of women and some of them with bay area ties. katie is live in the newsroom with new details from cosby's attorney. katie? >> the sexual assault case itself isn't new. there is a new district attorney who has filed criminal charges just before the statute out of limitations expire. tonight we are hearing from cosby's attorney for the first time since his arrest and court appearance. >> this case involves a woman and a man who had a consensual adult relationship over time. >> comedian and actor bill cosby escorted into court. the familiar sweater and a familiar accusation. >> mr. cosby urged her to take pills that he provided to her. >> alleged victim spoke out

more than a decade ago, but at the time the pennsylvania prosecutors didn't bring forward a criminal case. then in a related civil case cosby admitted to giving quaaludes to women he wanted to have sex with. now a recently elected district attorney reopened the criminal case filing three felony chargeses including aggravated indecent assault. >> do i believe he is guilty? yeah, i do. >> he knows cosby and one of his alleged victims. january janice baker kinney. >> i was sexually assaulted in may of 1982. >> donna says cosby raped her during a night out in 1971. the single mother worked as a waitress in sausalito and cosby in town for a come be show. upon hearing today's news he told carolyn tyler this is a good day for all the women. >> when he mentioned bill cosby they will not think of

how he broke down racial barriers. all they will think is rapist. rapist. >> the 78-year-old denies the allegations and cosby is out of custody posting a $1 million bail. in san francisco, abc7 news. >> the front page of tomorrow's new york daily news offers this take on the cosby charges. you can see the words "he said" followed by" she said" 55 times to indicate the more than 55 women who have accused cosby of sexual assault. a friend of the man behind the san bernadino shootings is facing charges. a federal grand jury indicted enrique marquez on felony charges for making false statements. he used a friend of -- he is a friend of farook. they were killed after a shooting at an office party for the a department that helps people with developmental disabilities. security preb operations are underway in new york city following the new york holiday

threat. they are investigating threats targeting three major cities, new york, los angeles and washington, d.c. new york city says it will have 6,000 police officers near time square, the biggest deployment ever and security will be tightened for rose bowl festivities. tomorrow they will file a restraining order to try the stop the soccer field from being used for super bowl 50. they allow the giant super bowl media village which could damage it. the 9ers and the nfl could be placed in the fields at the cost. the leaders worry it won't happen in time for their teams to host home playoff games. >> they are not against the super bowl. we are not against using the soccer park. we are against having a place to -- not having a place to play. >> they said they work to secure alternative fields for the kids to use during the super bowl.

employees and act like he had a gun. no one was hurt this time, but police worry he could get bolder. >> next time somebody may resist and may not believe he is carrying a weapon and there may be a weapon in there and someone may be killed or injured. >> the robber left with $1200. if you know who he is, you can call the anonymous tip line at 415-715-4444. >> neighbors in one peninsula city are taking charnel to get the streetlights -- taking charge to get the streetlights back on. >> the unusual solution involves a power outlet and a heavy duty extension cord. new at 11:00, cornell bernard is live in san bruno with the story. >> hi, kristen and ama. you know, the brightest thing on this street tonight is the light from our camera. the streetlights are off and they have been broken for a longtime and may not be repaired for a longtime too. the city is looking for volunteers tonight. they may be willing to plug them in and get paid for doing it. if you are out for an evening

walk in san bruno's crestmore neighborhood -- >> it is dark. more than 50 streetlights have been off since mid-october when they blew a fuse. repairs have been dove because under ground wiring is so old. >> i leave here at 10 to 5:00 in the morning and you can see nothing. >> the streetlight in front of her house is on and she is supplying the power from her own house. the city supplied the extension cord and $50 a month to pay for the electricity. >> i thought it was a great idea and it is not hurting anybody and we did it. now there is light for everybody in the neighborhood or at least on our block. >> others are agreeing to plug in too. but there is a contact -- contract saying if something goes wrong it is not the city's fault. >> the city can't open themselves up to possibly a tripping hazard. >> some neighbors are doing their part by leaving porch lights on all night.

it is going to be definitely on the chilly side. right now live doppler 7hd is tracking low-level moisture resulting in some dense fog. quarter mile visibility in petaluma and santa rosa and petaluma. here in this area tomorrow morning not out of the question to see some freezing fog. you will have to watch out especially if you have early plans. most areas are in the 40s. the coldest spots around the north bay in the 30s right now. and here is a live look from our lake tahoe camera. thisy are not getting snow right now, but the next two systems bring the possibility of snow. patchy, freezing fog and chilly in the morning. dry for your new year's eve celebrations and rain is arriving on sunday afternoon. there is another system behind that and we'll talk about that in a moment. we have seen pretty good amounts of fog -- frost in the morning excuse me the last couple days. it is going to be patchy. we are not expecting the mid20s for the coldest spots. 29 in napa and 31 santa rosa. low 30s livermore and morgan hill. 36 in san jose and low 40s

oakland and san francisco. you will still need to bundle up, but it won't be as cold as it has been. and in the afternoon it will be pleasant. sunshine and a cool day. low to mid50s for most of the bay area. now we look at sunday's storm. it is a one on our storm impact scale. .20 to . 60 of an inch. it starts to spread as we head toward sunday evening. this is a preliminary look. and then by early monday morning it is winding down. the rainfall totals with this system, you will notice here anywhere from about .20 to .60 of an inch, the next system that follows is stronger. tuesday and wednesday ranks a two on the storm impact scale. t is one brings the rain and a half an inch to an inch of rain. tuesday morning very early it is coming in and it will bring the gusty winds as i mentioned. could knockdown trees and power lines. another follows on thursday

believe it or not. here is a look at the seven-day forecast. we'll take all of the rain we can get, but not for new year's eve and new year's day. tomorrow fog, chill is there. we will see a dry 2015 ending and beginning of 2016. it is going to be pleasantly cool for the weekend and the system does arrive on sunday. one on our storm i'm pact -- storm impact scale and it goes tuesday into wednesday. that's a two on the storm impact scale. one thing i have to note is you notice the high temperatures by sunday they start to come up. it will be milder and not just during the day, but in the mornings and at nights. if you are tiled of the cold weather sunday will start to make the switch. just hang in there. sunday can mean ama and rise sten for those folks trying to travel out of here at local airports it could be wet. >> thank you,
