>> abc7 news begins with breaking news. the breaking buzz is from dubai. just as people were ready to watch the new year celebration, an enormous fire took over a 63-story willing. this is the address downtown building a hotel and an apartment complex in the heart of the city. we are told the fire break out on the 20th floor. moments ago we heard from a reporter who is near the hotel. >> a lot of children wereñi crying, they were scared. the parents did future know what to do because there was a lot of confusion. if you were not outside in the

city of santa clara. soccer folks are frying to keep their fields away from super bowl 50 and matt keller is at santa clara superior court. matt? >> yes, reggie, the judge said he would make a ruralling on the temporary restraining order we at noon so in 50 minutes. we told that he actually is leaning toward ruling "no," but no matter what he decides, both sides will be back in the courthouse next week. in a twist, the attorneys for the santa clara youth soccer leagueñi said áhey could add the nfl to the request for a preliminary injures. santa clara youth soccer was scheduled to lose access to the fields on monday and will not get them back until 30 days after super bowl 50. the nfl is taking them over. they will be used for media, staging, half time and security. they were promised alternate soccer fields but the looking said they only get two fields, monday through friday and no weekends meaning 1,500 kids have

no place to play. >> we would go home tomorrow if someone would promise you have a good place to play, a field that suits the caliber of players you have, we would go home. >> we believe we have provided adequate fields and made that argument to the judge in the chambers. >> another big concern by league officials is what condition will the fields be in after the super bowl? the nfl agreed to repair the fields but there is nothing in writing and it would delay the games indefinitely. we will find out about the judge's decision at noon and a hearing is held next when on the preliminary injunction. >> and a sinkhole in san francisco's noe valley is causing traffic delays and impacting muni service right now. percentage repair crew is at church and 24th to fix the sewer line failure that led to the sinkhole with traffic

richard, the son of her daughter. police have not been either to find either parent. >> serial robber in the bay area has struck again hitting gas stations. surveillance video shows the man walking into the store with a bandanna and a gun. police say this man has struck seven times in just the last ten days. most of the robberies have happened between 3:30 and 5:30 in the morning and it is believed he also robbed a walnut creek gas station yesterday. >> this new surveillance video is picture of two machine accused of robbing this local me back station and it magazine clerk with the victim talking to a suspect. the map on the left side in the long white sleeve shirt is the one that the deputyrd looking for, and we will bring you a chores look. the robbers walked into the store early on sunday morning and one or both of them beat the cashier, stole the items from

this is abc7 news. >> this is new video in this morning showing the significant ice on highway one south of west marin which contributeed to a van driving into the bay there. authorities say he took the curve too fast and slid right into the water, rolled over and landed on the wheels in 4' of water. the driver made it out. he was picked up by a passing car and taken to the hospital. >> and now, a beautiful shot behind us of the golden gate bridge and i love what it looks like but lisa is actually outside. it is cold. >> it is cold. in another hour or two you will get an hour or two hours of warm sunshine and then, boy, we has the heat quickly with dry air. shear live doppler hd, we lost the fog if santa rosa, finally, you have been freezing all morning long. and right nows you are in the 30.
