it is a mild 44 in napa. feels pretty good out there. temperatures will remain a little milder today with the southerly winds, with the cloud cover, so we will see low to mid-50s throughout the afternoon. rain develops throughout the day. it will be with us thissing evening. we will track the next several days for you in just a few minutes. cornell. >> thank you. two people are okay this morning after their commercial fishes boat got into trouble. they tell us how they got to safety. >> it was the wind. without the wind we could have made it. >> it was not the way the new year's fishing boat was supposed to end it would sale out of richmond, lost engine power and was headed for the shoreline rocks at tiny park state park. >> a little unnerving there. >> he said the seas were rough early saturday and the winds

this is where it happened at 23rd street and cutting boulevard around 6:15 last night. two women were driving through when someone hit the driver in the neck. she's identified of clair guggen of about berkeley. >> i heard six fires shot. and then the collision. as soon as i heard the shots, i ducked. >>duggen is in the hospital with critical injuries. >> there was an accident on east read and south seventh street after 7:00 p.m.. the two cars were driving in opposite direction and bicyclist reportedly ran a red light. drugs and control do not appear to have played a part in the accident. a hit-and-run accident in san francisco closed mission street for about a few hours. 4th and mission a car was

overturned the driver took off running. they were eventually arrested inside blooming department store. no one else was injured. >> some felt duped after renting out their house on air b&b. there was damage and a lesson learned catch the huge party the teenager threw. >> the house on santa clara avenue is her pride and joy, and this is cell phone video of her with police after her home was trashed. >> beer cans and broken glass and stuff in the house and cigarettes. >> the he presented her open home on air b&b to what she thought was an older man from chicago for new year's eve. it really went to a teenager who through a rager for his 18th birthday. 200 kids were all over the house

going on those days. rain is coming later this afternoon, right? >> yes, and this and just the beginning. it's our weakest system. it's a number 1 on the storm impact scale. and several number 2s and maybe we will bump it up to number 3 by the middle of the week. many things going on, but it's about time. live doppler hd showing a band of rain showers offshore. this is pushing into some very, very dry air so at the mid-levels we are picking up the green, the rain, but underneath down by the surface it is very dry out there. so looks like we are going to be waiting throughout the day for the rain to fall. as we go further north it looks like just west of cloverdale we have some returns by sea ranch. likely not hitting the ground. we put it in motion and you notice a few flurries around the sierra nevada. it continues to push up into the bay area. but the due points are in the 20s and 30s the past couple of days. it will take a little while to moisten up the lower layers of the atmosphere and for the rain to fall later on this afternoon in the north bay. when it does, it's going to

start out in the coastal hills. so that will be really the heaviest rain for much of the afternoon. 46 in san francisco. oakland, as well. 44 mountain view and san jose, as well as morgan hill. and looking at 55 half moon bay w the southerly winds and the warm sector of the system headed our way, we are pretty mild. sutro low 40s for santa rosa, and just 138 on this panel from novato. low 40s fairfield, concord, and 42 in livermore. so our forecast highlights then starting out with the mild cloudy morning, then rain developing have afternoon. it looks like a very wet week ahead with the break towards the end of the upcoming work week. so as we look at the 5:00 model here, you will notice the rain offshore. then we go through 1:00, it looks like rain pushing into cloverdale, santa rosa. still you are dry in the east bay. san francisco, the south bay. but by dinnertime everyone looks wet. the heaviest rain along the

coast. that's where it should stay. barely getting wet, though, in livermore and antioch. it will take through the overnight hours and by 11:00 you notice it's raining everywhere. the good news is by your monday morning commute, it kind of lets up, just some scattered showers and rainfall amounts with the first weaker system anywhere from about a third of an inch to three quarters of an inch san francisco and along the coast. the heaviest amounts here. as we pick up the next system, monday afternoon, more rain develops. it's kind of light, but by the monday evening commute it gets messy in the overnight hours. heaviest rain this time san francisco, along the santa cruz mountains and the south bay. it will bring in the southerly winds. adding to the rain and by tuesday afternoon we have an inch and a half on top of what we had for the system tomorrow. look what happens by the end of the week. this is about 4 inches. right here we are talking three inches from the central bay and lesser amounts inland. that's about three or four

we are starting this half-hour with a look at the weather. here's meteorologist lisa argen. grab your umbrella, right? >> that's right, cornell. the rain is going to hold off until the afternoon. we do have some returns offshore. it's moving into much dryer air. live doppler 7hd shows the cloud cover. with the cloud cover we are really mild this morning. so you are not going to run into any rain likely until about, say, 1:00 along the coast. and also up into the north bay. so temperatures this morning are ranging from the upper 30s, and a few selected isolated inland valleys. we are looking at 42 in livermore. san jose good morning, 44. napa, as well, with 46. san francisco. and a balmy 55 degrees half moon bay. you are heading out the door, might need a jacket, then we will look for the clouds to be with us all morning long. perhaps an isolated shower. but the main rain moves in early to late afternoon and still looks like concord and livermore and inland valleys won't see it until the evening hours. it will get going overnight. this is the first in the series of storms to hit us.
