station. a water main break sends thousands of gallons of water gushing down an east bay street, flooding one home and threatening another. let's go to lilian kim in kensington with a look at the damage. >> reporter: they will be here for a while doing repair work. neighbors say the break is a recuring problem. ment it broke at 3:00 p.m., sending a river of water down the block. neighbors say this is the third time in seven years this happened. firefighters say the ground here is constantly shifting, which puts a lot of pressure on the pipes. needless to say this is very frustrating for residents-especially for one homeowner whose house got flooded today. his home was flooded over three years ago as well when he statement water -- water main

run toured. >> never thought so much water could come down the hill all at once. we're downhill. but it's not like protecting from heavy rain at all. >> there's no -- like what you have down in the larger cities where you have underground storm drains. up here, it's pretty much all curb to curb down the hill so when we get an excessive amount of water, then any low spot such as the house behind us, the water backs up and goes down their steps and interest the -- into the house. >> reporter: three other homes have flood damage to their yards. one had water enter her crawlspace. homeowners will file a claim. they're upset they had to go through this again. >> thank you. as we mentioned a series of storms is held our way, but first arrives tonight and meteorologist drew tuma has more with live doppler 7hd. >> we have the clouds up there

and now we're waiting for the rain. the live doppler 7hd showing you the rain just off the coast at this hour. see this spin in the atmosphere? it's going to try to push moisture along the peninsula and into the city of san francisco. but wider picture shows the rain traveling south to north, has brought a corner inch of rain into the north bay. this low will move to the east and bring everyone some light showers. future weather, hour-by-hour, 9:00 on sunday, we're likely track something light showers beginning to move onmore and that continues by midnight tonight. the early morning hours on monday, that rain will move in from west to east. this is a one on the storm impact scale, and the system will linger monday morning before a stronger storm moves in for monday afternoon and monday evening. we'll detail the wet weather in the full accuweather forecast

coming up. >> for updates on storms anytime, download or abc7 news app, and enable push alerts. >> a bay area man popular in the jewish community was killed in las vegas. he died december 29th after being shot while inside his car. tonight two people are in custody, suspected of killing him. sergio has the latest years friends and family describe him as a technology entrepreneur and foodie, also involved in the bay area's young jewish professional community. the police say he was killed last tuesday at a 24-hour fitness gym parking lot. investigators believe he was the victim of a botched robbery. this is surveillance video of the suspect car, driving through that las vegas gym parking lot just before the shooting. two people have been arrested. 19-year-old megan hippy and

27-year-old kyle stats. both facing charges including first degree murder and armed robbery. friends tell us he lived in the bay area for nearly 20 years. he was in las vegas last week setting up a social media platform for people attending the consumer electronic shows. his friends are planning a memorial service to honor him next sunday. i talked with his father by phone from new jersey. he told me he was very proud of his son's work in the bay area. >> thank you. police in vallejo are investigating a shooting that injured three people. it happened around 4:00 this afternoon on porter street. two of the victims were in a car. you can see the bullet holes here. everyone is expected to recover. tonight, police are on the lookout for a gunman who shot a teacher in the neck. police say she was driving through richmond near 22nd 22nd street when the bullet hit her. melanie woodrow is live with the

latest on the investigation. >> reporter: a lot of shock and sadness for people who know 52-year-old claire duggan. we learned she is a local elementary school teacher. gunshots and smashed cars. >> it's pretty terrifying. >> reporter: the scene on the 2200 block of cutting boulevard saturday night. richmond police say an innocent driver was caught in the cross-fire. >> could have been any of us. >> reporter: police say the victim is 52-year-old claire duggan. >> shocking. this doesn't happen to you. or to people you know. >> reporter: landlord and friend says duggan's passenger called her. >> she was saying that claire had been shot, and we were at the hospital. >> people with signs said peatsful richmond, and enough is enough. a rallied saturday night. this is the second shooting in the area. earlier in the afternoon the police department says there was a shooting and collision on

westbound i-580 near regatta boulevard. the victim is in critical condition, duggan was also listed in critical condition of of the last police updates. detectivers now investigating if there's a connection between the two incidents. >> there are people out there all the time that are doing this. i don't understand them. >> reporter: police tell us the victim in the earlier shooting appeared to be targeted and duggan was an innocent victim. >> of course you want -- i want arrest to be made. >> richmond police have no suspect information. in richmond, abc7~news. >> tomorrow afternoon, north bay commuters will see a change in their evening commute. a live look at the golden gate bridge camera where tomorrow for the first time in four months the evening weekday community will remain at three lanes in each direction. the golden gate bridge highway and transportation district has been experimenting with adding an extra northbound lane to ease congestion from 4:00 to

a bolted water company operating in southern california is under a federal environmental review. they're investigating necessary nestle. the lawsuit says their bottling is taking water supply away from the wildlife in the area. >> a mother's dream came true and her prayers were answered in antioch today. miss gray started a donated ford taurus at the church. the church sponsored a car givearm to help a deserving family. gray didn't have a car until today. she wrote a letter explaining why her family needed one. >> when i announce me, i almost fell out. i'm so grateful for everybody.

the cloud cover 51, oakland, 54, san francisco, 51, san jose, 50 in napa. this storm tonight, overnight, early monday morning, one on the storm impact scale. mostly a quarter to three-quarter inch of rain and hour-by-hour, going to midnight, we have the light showers moving onshore. that continues into the early morning hours on monday, and even monday morning, as the commute gets underway. by 6:00 in the morning, we're likely tracking scattered showers out there so a good reason to tune in tomorrow morning. and then we'll start to see a break in the activity before a stronger storm moves in monday afternoon and monday evening. that would be a two on the storm impact scale with more of rain but also have stronger winds associated with it, between 20 and perhaps 40 miles-per-hour. so, future weather, monday afternoon, 4:00 on the time tamp. likely be tracking scattered

downpours and the heaviest of the rain looks to hold off until monday night. this is 10:00 at night. notice some showers, heavy at times, across the bay area and it's early morning morning, tuesday, 2:00, 3:00 in the morning, while many are sleeping, when the strongest winds will come in. the best chance to see wind gusts nearing 40 miles-per-hour will be south of the golden gate. tuesday morning commute also looks wet, and we'll be tracking the chance of an isolated thunderstorm popping up tuesday afternoon. on the heels of that system, another one moves in. total rainfall of these storms, a lot of locations over an inch of rain. not be surprised if some cities pick up over two inches of rain with the storms. then wednesday into thursday another system moves in. a two on the storm impact scale. half inch to inch and a half of rain but the inwinds won't be as strong. tonight, hold in the 40s, so
