>> i am kristen sze. >> it has been a dangerous ride this morning including the richmond-san rafael bridge. >> can you see the windshield wipers working hard, and drivers had to fight the winds crossing the bay area bridges. and if you dealt with this during the afternoon pickup when you drive home for work, too, we have answers from meteorologist mike nicco. mike? >> the heaviest rain is over. but, first, the rain will continue to create bond on the roads with mudslides and small creek flooding until 4:00 this afternoon. we have a dangerous surf along the code up to 20' breakers until 2:00 tomorrow. we have heavy rain rate now in the south bay and heading into the santa cruz mountains and this is heading up toward saratoga and los gatos and san jose and it should be there in 5-15 minutes with palo alto and los altos hills and mountain view across the dumb democrat

residents. >> that is the biggest fallen since i have been here across from the park in five years. a tree further up is a small widow. it fell. it was lightning. this is just: a tree. >> it hit a pore be and japanese and valve -- volvo but no people. no one was hurt. this is what happened before the tree, a steady and heavy downpour that landed on ground that was already socked from two previous storms. drivers who were out in it this morning were wishing they could have stayed home. >> it is wet. be careful. especially if you are crossing the bridges. it is slick. >> the tree on washington street was not the only tree that fell victim to the rain. a top heavy tree landed on muni bus lines. >> knocked down the support wire and that caused to us re-route

the buses. >> it was closed. when it was cleared they got a call that a huge branch fell just a few blocks away. >> a spokesperson for public works just told me that they did prune trees to prepare for the season and they removed some but it is to be expected that some trees will fall, especially at going of the season. the stormy weather is affecting service on san francisco's historic cable car lanes. service has been canceled until further notice because of the weather conditions and the low ridership during wet weather. you have to take the bus instead. >> we were long the san francisco water front during high tide this morning. check out the crashing water on the shore with storm clouds

reporting from san jose for abc7. >> amy, great job covering our storm today. >> pg&e is working to restore power to a thousand customs cross the bay area and looking at the numbers there mostly in the east bay. 600 without power there. more than 300 without power in the south bay. nearly 200 combined in san francisco, peninsula, and north bay. pg&e said if you see a downed power line, always, do not get near them. call 9-1-1. >> the storm also is forcing hundreds of flight delays and chance lake berryessas. we will give you a breakdown airport by airport. at sfo, 146 flights have been delayed so far. 77 others have been canceled. at oakland airport, 27 delays, five cancellations and at san jose airport, continue delays and three cancellations so far. >> we love to see the video and the instagram posts to abc7, including this instagram user with two forks sharing this wading through water in sausalito. that hurricanes lick a mess.
