his covered after capture as he's else korted to a vehicle that will take him to the plane. and here he is. the face of a defeated man at the end of his fugitive journey. he was taken in a bloody shootout at his home. five associates were killed and one mexican marine was wounded. and this is a non-dript home in which he had been hiding out. mexican marines seized armor vehicles and a huge cache of military weapons. it is a very big deal that they were able to pull this off. >> saying el chapo's arrest doesn't prove. the wait was last july when he

busted out through a mile-long tunnel. no word whether he will seek extradition. no extradition may mean a third escape. something nobody can afford. >> new developments in another case. raymond chow, better known as "shrimp boy" say he was a reformed china town gangster. >> they convicted him of murder and racketeering. >> reporter: the trial took about two months, but it only took the jury two and a half days to reach a verdict. it was a big win for them. chow's lawyers will appeal, but, for now, chow facing mandatory life in prison. >> guilty of murder.

guilty of conspireing to kill another. guilty of money laundering and trafficking in stolen property. guilty on all 162 criminal counts. raymond "shrimp boy" chow sat stokely. his attorney says he was noble in 5:accepting his defeat. >> he was almost sadistically acceptive of the consequence. >> a five-year undercover fbi probe led to his arrest two years ago. he was indicted along with 28 others. e avoided trial by pleading guilty to racketeering. his most serious charge that he order the 2006 unsolved murder. a group that chow took over after his death. chow took a chance by testifying on the stand. he said he lived a crime-free life after serving time in the

1990s for racketeering. volunteering his time, helping troubled kids. that's what he told me when i interviewed him in 2007. >> chow also told me what he said in court. that he was no murderer. >> at the risk of being rude, did you have any involvement? >> no. >> the jury didn't buy that. his attorney says jurors did believe his former associates who turned and testified for the government. >> his conviction was predicated on the testimony of five snitches that no rationale human being would believe. >> chow would be sentenced in march. >> turning now to a weekend

this was the scene today as dozens of protesters called for the firing of police chief. >> derek thomas was there. >> reporter: expecting a big, noisy protest. but dozens of act viss got inside. and they caused enough of a ruckus that a handful were taken away in cuffs.

you can hear the governor swearing in the mayor, ed lee, over the shouts of protesters. both outside and inside city hall with the police chief, greg sur. they're angry over this cell phone video showing the shooting death of mario woods. police say he was holding a knife. critics say there should be a better way to take him down without gunfire. >> we're not going to allow the blood of black people to keep dripping all over san francisco when everybody blees this can be a party and are having a fine time.

the lieutenant governor no stranger to protesters in his term in officer. he said it's par for the course in san francisco. >> we love two-way conversations, not just one-way confers. >> the mayor did not speak to the media after the ceremony, but a spokeswoman says he stands behind the chief and will continue meeting with the kplunty to find a solution. >> abc 7 news was there for a historic moment. a strong code of ethics will be a corner stone at her time in office. there are now 754 officers on the force. that's nearly 120 more than just four years ago.

aby 7 news reporter vick lee was in the courtroom when he was found guilty today. the jury took two days to find he was guilty in the murders of two people. in developing news in philadelphia, where investigators say this man shot a police officer and confessed to being inspired by isis. abc 7 news reporter says why the police chief calls this attack the scariest thing he's ever seen. >> chilling surveillance images of what philadelphia police called an ambush on one of their officers by a suspect they say pledged loyalty to isis. this video shows the suspect firing at least 11 times into a patrol car. >> my god.

update. it's going to be a partly wet weekend. you can see the moisture building along the coastline. we'll have that storm beginning to move into the north bay later tonight. it ranks one on our storm impact scale. here in san francisco, right and 3:00 a.m., it won't be very, very heavy rain. it will be the heaviest in the overnight period. it will taper off gradually into the daytime hours tomorrow. statewide, it will be wet tomorrow. that includes snow in the sirra. it will be mainly dry here in the bay area. mostly rainfall during the overnight hours. it will continue into the morning breaking up into scattered showers in the afternoon. high temperatures tomorrow will range only from low to mid 50s
