news. >> now at 11:00, we are off to a wet start. >> and as we take a live look at our roof camera, even more rain is on the way. good evening. thank you for joining us. i'm ama dates. >> i'm dan ashley. let's get to sandhya patel and the live doppler 7hd. >> dan and ama, the streets are turning slick. let's check out the live doppler 7hd, and i will show you where the rain is falling. we have seen steady rain from ukiah to santa rosa. i will take you in. the street level radar around santa rosa and the row -- roanoke park. as we head toward the east bay, we are also seeing light rain from oakland to el cerrito and san ramon. hayward boulevard as well. don't be surprised if you run into light to moderate rain. san francisco and the peninsula, not as much. it is spotty as you will

notice. it is very light around the bay shore and brisbane area. and up to the north, north of clear lake we are tracking some snow around the mountains north of the clear lake area. i'll be back to let you know exactly how long this storm is going to last, and if it is going to be a foggy weekend or if you will see a break before the next storm arrives coming up. ama? the new enhanced weather pattern has closed down these areas of the golden gate national recreation area because of dangerous conditions. at the north beach access trail the signs tell people to stay away from the unstable cliff. the storms have also caused organizers to postpone the san francisco boat show until late april. >> the main entrance to yosemite national park is still closed because of are rock slide on highway 140. crews are working to clear. it after that they will repair the road. the park itself is still open, but it is a 3-hour drive through the snow to get to the other entrance on the south side. a reminder when you see

weather where you live, take a photo or video and share it with us using # abc7 news. we'll show it on the air or abc7news.com. only on abc7 news, dan noyes has uncovered another questionable death at the santa clara county jail. the santa clara county coroner said he died from a broken neck. he complained of chest pains and falling in the jail on june 2 sickth -- june 26th, but they didn't call the homicide unit. and a rookie detective who never worked a homicide arrived and the scene was cleaned up. >> there was evidence of lack of supervision and training and accountability. >> sources inside the jail tell the i team's dan noyes they will never know if another inmate attacked him because of the poor investigation. through her spokesman sheriff lori smith refused the interview today. a special needs school in the east bay is facing legal action following multiple

allegations of student abuse. this video surfaced showing a teacher's aid abusing a student at a school in antioch, and now the mother of another student is coming forward saying her son was abused. only on abc7 news, that mother sits down with our reporter. >> michelle doesn't want us to identify her young son, but he can describe what happened to him in antioch when he was eight years ole. eight years old. >> he bruised my head in the table and my son made the gesture of slamming the head on the table. >> michelle took this picture of her son's face and took him out of school and filed a police report. that was in 2014. her attorney has been investigating tobin world ever since. >> from everything i can tell tobin world is a horrible place. >> he found that the livermore school district took all of the students out of tobin world after reports of abuse. and the public records from antioch police show between

2008 and 2014 there were 35 reported episodes of violence between staff and students. >> these children kept communication problems. they cannot tell many of them what is happening to them or to other people. somebody has to speak out for these children. >> this week a teacher's aide was caught on cell phone video hitting another student. she was arrested for felony abuse and now out on bail and michelle has seen the video. >> i thought oh my god my son went through the same thing. not only my son, but the other kid in the classroom. it makes me out rained. >> in a statement they say "reare -- we are horrified and will not tolerate the mistreatment or abuse of any child." he says they will file the lawsuit against tobin world and the antioch school district no later than march. abc7 news. a father could face charges after police said he tried to take his child from

the mother and then quickly boarded a bart train to escape. it happened after 4:00 p.m. at the montgomery street station. it caused delays. bart tweeted it was a possible kidnapping which obviously alarmed riders. the follow-up tweet said it was a domestic dispute and service was restored. protesters drowned out mayor ed leigh today. >> i edward m leigh -- >> do solemnly swear. >> abc7 news was at city hall as they demanded the mayor fire the police chief after the shooting of mario woods in the bay view district. the sheriff deputies took the more disruptive protesters away in handcuffs. hillary clinton raised thousands of dollars at two fundraisers in the bay area tonight. abc7 news was at the innovation hangar in san francisco as she left to head down to palo alto for the second event. people waited in long lines to get in. tickets started at $500

apiece. >> new tonight the escaped drug lord el chapo is back in prison, the same one he broke out of last summer. there was a bloody gunbattle and an unusual move. they allowed cameras at the perp walk. marines lead him to a military chopper to take him away. mexico's government was criticized last year after el chapo dug the elaborate tunnel under the private shower stall for his escape where -- or he had his henchmen do it. they will have him extradited here. raymond "shrimp boy" choy is looking for a heavy prison sentence. he was found guilty of all 162 counts against him. the charges include murder, conspiracy to commit murder and racketeering. the jury took two days to decide he was responsible for the killing of two people including prominent chinatown businessman alan leyung.

the sentencing is in march. super bowl 50 is more than four weeks 8 way, but tonight it is taking shape in san francisco. >> city leaders raise new questions about how much taxpayer will be on the hook for the celebration. >> sergio joins us live. >> stewart street is going to be shutdown for the entire weekend so that that massive crane right there can begin installing a sky lounge up there on the seventh floor for visa credit cards. that sky lounge is not part of the official super bowl city down here on justin herman plaza. but in just two weeks that super bowl city is going to begin its installation here. this massive crane is the first wave of coming installations. more closures will come in two weeks when the crews begin building the official super bowl city. they are expecting a boom in business at his nearby liquor

store. >> we are very excited. of course it will bring a lot of business for us. >> but not everyone is celebrating. the supervisor is concerned about the bill to taxpayers. >> my underking is that the super bowl committee is not paying for any of the $3 million to $4 million in cost to the city. it is providing it in services for the private corporate party. >> her multi-million dollar figure is from the mayor's budget office detailing how much the city expects to shell out for police, fire and transportation costs. the city should recoup that and more. >> we know that when tens of thousands of people depend on san francisco toen joy these activities they will be going to restaurants and they will be purchasing things from small businesses. >> if san francisco doesn't make back the money, the super bowl host committee pledged $500,000 to offset losses. but that's not the way the city handles the other major events like oracle open world or sales force. the supervisor says those companies pay. >> san francisco is proud to

it is raining and i will take you to the north bay down to street level radar. i will step aside so you can see. petaluma and out toward napa road and the sonoma and napa road area and we are seeing light rain around san rafael. light rain in larkspur and mill valley. it is the kind of rain where you need your wipers gentle. emeryville and oakland and berkeley seeing wet weather along with piedmont. the light rain has spread over to the dublin pleasanton area. as you look at san francisco it is spotty in nature. it is almost a drizzle. that will changing as we head toward the overnight house. steady rain will continue to spread. in the mountains, the northern california mountains and the sierra nevada we are seeing snow and they will continue to see that in the night. mid40s to the low 50s. a live look from the exploratorium camera. scattered showers for your saturday evening. more storms are expected next

week. on the storm impact scale we are rating our storms from one to five. five is severe. it is a one. tonight through saturday evening with the widespread rain overnight. most areas a 10th to a third of an inch. the day planner for tomorrow, light rain at 7:00 a.m. temperatures in the low to mid40s. if you are taking your dog out for a walk or going to grab some coffee you will want some umbrella. showers and upper 40s to low 50s. low to mid50s. you will need shades by then. by 7:00 p.m. mostly cloudy sky. here is a look at the rain. look how widespread it is. light to moderate in intensity. 6:00 a.m. you will see the showers continue -- continuing. they are less widespread and the showers will continue scattered in nature around the noontime hour. 5:00 p.m., still looking at those showers and then they taper as they head toward 11:00 p.m.

sunday afternoon through monday morning most areas a third to three quart you -- quarters of an inch. noontime sunday you will notice the cloud cover. watch what happens. a light band of rain between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. crossing the bay area. and then you can see spotty showers. smos of the sunday is looking fine. you will see wet roadways, but not often. widespread rain will begin to move in. 4:00 a.m. commute time, most of the north bay is wet. you will notice at 5:00 a.m. it is starting to spread. this will bring more moisture than the current storm. it is going to be foggy. noontime you are looking at the steady rains turning to showers going into the afternoon and evening hours. rainfall totals are impressive. as we head toward the second system, notice over an inch of rain for our wettest locations. the sierra winter weather advisory going until 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. four to seven inches.

tomorrow morning the temperatures in the 40s and it will be a wet start to your saturday. we need the rain and on saturday afternoon it is showers and sun as you look at the accu-weather seven-day forecast, the next three storms are one's. you do get a few breaks in between which will be crucial here. and then late friday night going into the following weekend and the following week, it looks like three strong storms. right now it is so far out. >> el nino field storms. >> thanks,
