new this is abc7 news. >> good morning, everyong. on this saturday, sat 9th. i'm chris nguyen. we are waking up to wet roads across the bay area. let's start with a first look at the forecast with meteorologist lisa argen. she's track live doppler hd. hi, lisa. >> hi, chris. this is the number 1 on the storm impact trail. it will be bringing light rain. it started in the north the bay. now you see over san francisco and the east bay, even along the central coast, we go into closer to hercules, concord and walnut creek, highway 24 some wet weather, as well. and into san francisco, south city. looking at some wet roadways. right now it's widely scattered

and you see around mt. hamilton here, a little bit of an enhancement. the higher elevations getting a bit more. the sierra nevada there's a winter weather advisory until 4:00 this afternoon. just some light snow falling. so with this system most of the activity happening in the morning. by the noontime the scattered showers. temperatures mild in the 40s and 50s. fog, as well. but 4:00 you may see an isolated thunders shower near san jose. it will be a dry evening. but the second one on its heels. that arrives overnight tomorrow night. we will talk about that. and a wetter, stronger system, the third one, coming in by the middle of next week. chris. >> thank you. the el nino-enhanced weather pattern have closed down these four areas of the golden gate wildlife area because of the dang conditions. there are unstable cliffs. the storms have also caused organizers to postpone the

san francisco to boat show until late april. the main entrance to yosemite natural rock remains closed because of a rockslide on highway 140. crews are looking to repair it, which could take self days. then they have to repair the date. there's no date for the road to reopen. the park itself is still open, but there is a three hour drive through the snow to get to the entrance on the south side. all drivers must carry chains. a reminder, when you see news and weather happening where you live, take a photo or video and go to abc7news.com to. new video, miranda police are asking for your help identifying three suspects wanted are burglary. video from the inside the home shows the burglar ataking place. the men broke in wednesday around noon and ransacked the place. investigators have not said what was taken from the home but they ask if anyone has information on

the burglary or the sissics and' identities, call the police department. now to a story you will only see on abc7 news. there is another questionable death at the santa clara county jail. a convicted child molester, paul eddy pierce, died from a broken neck after feeling chest pains and falling in the shower on june 26th. but they do d. not call investigators or the homicide unit. and by the time a detective, who had never worked a homicide, arrived, the scene was cleaned up. >> a lack of draining and accountability the. >> sources inside the jail tell the i-team's dan noyes, they will never know if another impact attacked pierce because of the poor investigation. the sheriff refused to be interviewed. there are new claims against santa clara county.

three claims were filed against the jail yesterday. two mentally ill people and the family of michael tyree, say the inmates of repeatedly subjected to physical abuse. they come before today's blue ribbon commission meeting which looks at how the jail is republic after the beating incident. they will discuss providers to improve conditions inside the jail. today's meeting starts at 11:00 later this morning in san jose. an east bay special needs school is facing legal action following multiple allegation of student abuse. this video surfaced this week showing a teacher's aide abusing a student at a school in antioch. now the motor of another student is coming forward, saying her son was abused. only on abc7 news that mother sits down with our reporter katie marzullo. >> michelle doesn't want us to identify her young son but she can describe vividly what happened to him when he was 8 years old. >> his face it red. he slammed my head on the table,

and my son made the gesture of slamming the head on the able. >> michelle took this picture of her son's face, took him out of school and filed a police report. that was in 2014. per attorney, peter, has been investigating torbin world ever since. >> from everything i can tell, it's a horrible place. >> they had reports of abuse and public reports from antioch police show between 2,008 and 2,014 there were 30 reported episodes of violence between staff and students. >> the children kept communication problems. they can't be tell many of them what is happening to them or other people. somebody has to speak out for these children. >> this week a teacher's aide was caught on cell phone video hitting a 9-year-old student. 26-year-old was arrested for felony abuse. these now out on bail. michelle has seen the video.

are bringing in others. 5:15, the time. a second sausage recall was hit the south bay this week. sunny sunnyvale based company is recalling pork products because they do not have a label. the label did not include sheep casings, which can cause reacting in people allergic to sheep proteins. they recalled more than three tons of sausage because it was not inspected. officials say to throw away all recalled products. in an effort to be more transparent, campbell soup will be the first u.s. food company to list genetically modified organisms on their labels. the fda said they are safe to eat, but opponents say they characteristics can quickly spread to other crops. libeling for state by state

number one on the storm impact scale. it will be bringing brief showers mainly throughout the morning hours. it will become widely scattered throughout the day and dry by the evening. as we go in closer up to the north bay, where our sweep is from mount saint huh leanna, you see the rain there. further south toward glen allen and westward highway 101. and also looking at wet weather here. around meraga, and 680 you are wet. back toward highway 24 some wet weather. san francisco, 2 0 in and out of the showers. the dumbarton bridge and the san mateo bridge looking wet, as well as half moon bay. and further south as we go into milpitas and east of the san jose, and we look outside san francisco, yes, you see the slick pavement. fog and 49 here. 50 half moon bay. emeryville another vantage point where it is certainly slippery out there. 45 by the delta, 47 santa rosa

and livermore. you see the drops on the lens here. morning fog and rain. showers will be ending mostly by this afternoon but by about 4:00 you can still see some rain around santa rosa. the next system comes in overnight on sunday. so here we are right now, 5:00. and we go through the 7:00 hour. notice showers all-around from the east bay to the south bay. 10:00 we are still wet in the city. perhaps into vallejo and 680. but by 1:00 things really again to settle down. by the evening hours maybe a pop-up shower. overall rainfall amounts high nest the north bay, and san francisco looking at about a tenth of an inch. but really elsewhere just a couple hundredths. just a couple inches of snow here and enough to keep it slippery. the next system, tomorrow it will be cloudy and notice by about 5:00 maybe some mist and drizzle but the real rain heads in overnight while you are

sleeping. a rainy monday morning commute, the north bay, san francisco and through the afternoon. many evening commute could be a little wet. rainfall amounts with the second system, still a number 1 on the storm impact scale, it be weak, just a quarter in . but i want to fast forward and show you by the time this goes through monday. we have a half-inch and then look what happens as i combine the first one, the second one, and here's the wettest won on wednesday. yeah, we have over an inch and three quarters. the wednesday system will be stronger. highs today under the cloud cover, the scattered showers, 56 degrees palo alto, 57 for you in morgan hill. and the accuweather seven-day forecast look for the light rain throughout the day today. mainly ending by midday. a few showers in the south bay. we are dry on sunday. monday morning will be wet. a break tuesday and wednesday could be bumped up to a number two so you will notice we are in the on-again, off-again pattern.

doppler hd. lease is tracking the conditions where you live. hi, lisa, you are right. if you don't have the showers, you may have fog. certainly it's cloudy everywhere. here's a look at live doppler 7hd. with the rain showers being impacted for most of you, if you are headed out. otherwise just sleeping through it. 580 around richmond and hercules. wet weather shoe berkeley and oakland and out toward walnut streak. highway 24 certainly slippery. through daly city, san francisco, down through pacifica, south city, and right through milbrae. looking at some showers. and further south mt. hamilton, some of that enhanced rainfall here. from 680 through milpitas, wet weather. and winter weather advisory in the sierra nevada until 4:00. this isn't a big snowmaker. maybe just a couple of inches of snow. and we are looking at this as a number one on our storm impact scale. so what that means is some very light rain shower activity, becoming more widely scattered throughout the day. 40s and 50s to start with

act of terrorism? >> i don't know. he doesn't come off as deranged, but more socal lating. i could be wrong about that. we are exploring all the angles. >> investigators with the fbi and the philadelphia pd executed search warrants at two addresses associated with the suspect, carting away boxes of evidence. investigators you now combing through the evidence to determine if archer has any real ties to isis. the police officer, jesse, is in fair condition. he's expected to make a full recovery. abc news, philadelphia. >> we have new details this morning on escaped drug lord el chapo after he was captured yesterday. he made contact with movie producers because he wanted to make an ought biographical film. that helped authorities find his location. last night in an unusual move, authorities allowed cameras in mexico city as marines led him to a military chopper. he's back in the same prison where he escaped from six months

two broken legs. >> it was apparent she had injuries. >> she was found saturday by a mother and daughter. it appeared she was thrown or tossed from a brentwood overpass. they took her to the animal shelter and she was dubbed gracie. on wednesday the dog's owners were reunited with her but now they can't afford the $12,000 in surgeries that bell law needs. >> she has a broken femur that requires virgin and can't be splinted. needs to be fused together. on the right front leg she had a fractured wrist. >> we never had a dog get out of here so she was quite the little ninja. >> this man owns the boarding facility in brentwood. >> i opened the door just a little bit and that's when she ran out. >> ross admits the dog escaped on december 24th but he denies he's financially responsible for the injuries she had when he was found more than a week later. >> that's kind of a myth.

>> this is abc7 news. >> 5:412, the time. welcome back. this is a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza. you see there are some spots on the camera. today is a level 1 on the storm impact scale. lisa argen will track down all the conditions and an hour by hour forecast coming up. a san francisco drone maker has become one of the fastest-growing companies in the bay area. lilly robotics just announced they received $34 million in presales for its flying camera. abc7 news reporter jonathan bloom profiled the company last year. the company prefers not to call it a drone.

moon bay and 351 for you in san jose. a little breezy in the upper elevations from the east bay hills camera. you can see more 40s here from napa, novato. 47 in santa rosa. 45 by the delta where you have some showers. and finally our exploratorium camera in the light rain this morning. we've got fog and it will last through the morning. and then throughout the around it becomes more widely scattered. it breaks up, but it's still going to be with us. we will show you that. and then more rain arrives overnight, say, 2:00, 3:00 in the morning on sunday for your monday morning commute. here's a look at what you can expect throughout the next couple of hours. so 5:00 we've got the scattered showers. look at 7:00. it's raining in the east bay on the peninsula around belmont and 280. and then by 10:00 some very light showers still up in the north bay, to point reyes, san jose and fremont. not a lot going on. but as we go through the 1:00, 2:00 hour, they begin to break up but there still could be a few isolated showers here and there. here's 11:00 at night. it's dry for the evening.

how much? not a lot of rain. we are looking at about .04 in napa to perhaps .1. we've already picked up .07 outside of kgo. the rain will pick up throughout the morning hours for the most part, and the snow through 4:00. the winter weather advisory just a couple inches here of the just enough to allow for chains and to slow you down there. certainly throughout kirkwood and donner. as we fast forward into sunday afternoon, a lot of cloud cover sunday night. looking at still dry conditions, but by about 3:00, 4:00 in the morning it's raining in the north bay. the monday morning commute will be soggy from marin through berkeley. we still have showers from 10:00 through about 1:00. it continues to push further south and east. by the evening commute scattered showers are possible. in is the second system. still a number one on our storm impact scale with a quarter inch of rain and just a couple
