the ground how much damage this greyhound bus is. it's sitting on tom of a tow truck right now. but for the time being, they are busy trying to figure out what exactly caused this accident. technology may be the key to an explanation. >> there are two ways the chp why this bus crashed into a freeway divider at 6:40 this morning. >> he did say that he was leading up to the collision. he said that he remembers the bus striking the collision, which you can see beyond the bus now. and then, the next thing he remembered is the bus on its side. >> greyhound tells us the on board camera looks in two directions, at the driver and the first few rows of passengers

and at the road ahead. two passengers were ejected from the bus and died. eight others sustained minor injuries and were sent to local hospitals. the remaining ten were chartered and taken to san francisco. the bus originated in los angeles with oakland its final destination. a witness does not think the bus was speeding. >> we did have a witness dreblgtsly behind the bus. >> a special tow truck had to be called in to upright the 17 ton bus. a team from the ntsb is being brought in for a parallel federal investigation. the tow truck is getting ready to leave with the bus for a short time. federal investigators arrive

injuries. >> dan and christin, good evening. the passengers who need medical attention were taken to four local hospitals. regional medical center of san jose was one of them. of the three people who were brought here to the hospital, one of them, we've learned, will be staying here overnight due to their injuries. an overwhelming morning for the passengers who survived the horrible greyhound bus crash. >> it was raining. it was dark. we need to investigate on all aspects of that. >> the officer with the california highway patrol responded to the scene, doing everything she could to comfort others as they stood out in the rain. at the time, many of them didn't know that two people had died. >> there was some passengers having great difficulty dealing with what happened.

we were able to get them with their relatives and friends. >> of the 21 people on the bus, ten of them were taken to the hospitals in the area. one personal was transported to kaisar in san jose. here at regional medical center, one passenger remains for treatment. >> we are a trauma center. right now, they're in stable condition. themp brought here this morning by ambulance. >> a devastating crash that many won't soon forget. in san jose, chris wynn, abc 7 news. >> family and friends who want to check can call a hotline that has been set up. here's the number. right now, let's check your current traffic conditions in the south san jose area. you can see some congestion through the side of the bus crash there. northbound 101 and highway 85 with 52 miles per hour on the speed limit. 06k, that's not the direction right now.

in the sierra, all of that is winding down. the reports are anywhere from 3-8 inches. >> upper 50s to low 60s, a live look from the exploratorium camera looking at the abc 7 news at 4 looking towards clay tower. areas of fog overnight tonight, drying out the next two days and another storm arrives on friday. here's a look at what's going to happen overnight tonight. we're going to see leftover moisture resulting in some areas of fog. your morning commute will include some of that fog. just keep that in mind as you get going tomorrow. it's not going to be a repeat of this morning, that's for sure. next storm, is going to be a 2. it arrives on friday with two waves of wind and rain. here is a look at the time line. 10:00 thursday night, not guilty much happening. by 11 mm, it notches on to the coast.
