hey, good wednesday morning to you. we begin with the breaking news. a university under attack stormed by armed militants happening right now in pakistan. >> yeah, major development. the dead include students, university staff and at least one professor with at least 80 people shot. officials do tell us that four terrorists have been killed so far. all of the buildings and rooftops at the bacha khan university have now been taken over by the army there which is now clearing the university block by block. a similar attack in nearby peshawar in 2014 killed 150 people. most of them there children. we're going to continue to monitor this operation taking place in pakistan. but back here on the home front, the surging poll numbers and big name endorsements are rocking the campaigns of both democrats and republicans. >> in iowa last night conservative superstar sarah palin last night endorsed

thanks so much, megan. >> speaking of hillary clinton she's playing down what could be another e-mail controversy. an inspector general for the intelligence community sent a letter to lawmakers saying some e-mails on her home server were deemed even more highly classified than top secret. clinton's campaign says this finding doesn't change the fact that the e-mails were not classified at the time they were sent or received. republican ben carson and his staff are mourning the death of a campaign volunteer. 25-year-old braden joplin died in a car accident yesterday in western iowa. three others with joplin were injured when their car turned over on an icy road then was hit by another vehicle. carson suspended campaigning and remembered joplin as one of the brightest young people he's ever met. the governor of michigan is speaking out about the water crisis in flint. rick snyder devoted much of his state of the state address to the disaster. he blamed government failure for the lead contamination which left water in flint undrinkable. the water source was switched in 2014 to save money. snyder resolved to fix the problem.

well, these are certainly fighting moments for a brave mom in florida. watch as two would-be carjackers run toward an suv at a gas station. the first driver locks her door then they try to steal that red car but the driver yanks them out. her two kids are in the backseat. the two men and a woman were arrested a short time later. well, a memorial will be held friday for the 12 marines who disappeared last week off the coast of hawaii. the coast guard called off the search for survivors overnight after an intense five-day effort to find the 12 marines. they were on board two helicopters that are believed to have collided during nighttime training exercises. a major business headline this morning. low fuel prices are helping the airlines in a big way. for delta spending less on fuel contributed to making nearly a billion dollars in profits last year. delta's stock was up because it expects to save 3 billion this year on fuel. but revenue is down and one reason might be this. more than 40% of americans didn't take any vacation days

snow in the pacific northwest. also watch out for rain and snow as a mix to slow traffic in the ohio and tennessee valleys and wet roadways along the central gulf coast. well, this morning driver fatigue is suspected as a possible cause in a deadly greyhound crash in northern california. >> sleeping passengers on the l.a. to san francisco overnight trip awoke to horror as the bus overturned on the rain-slicked highway. one saying the bus was seesawing on the highway median. passengers say the driver appeared to doze off moments before the accident and south san jose. two women died. the ntsb is now investigating. a tennessee local sheriff says searchers have not given up hope on finding a missing 2-year-old alive. even though it's been six days since the boy disappeared. hundreds of volunteers have been braving brutal cold in rural tennessee. some 85 miles east of memphis. the cold last night was a little too much so the professionals took over. the sheriff also says the family is not under suspicion despite

what has been put out there in social media. two pregnant women in illinois have been found to be infected with the zika virus. health officials say the expect apartment mothers had recently visited countries where the virus is located. the cdc recently issued a warning about the virus which can cause severe birth defects in children. it is spread through mosquito bites and found in certain caribbean and latin-american countries. despite previous warnings that pregnant women should avoid certain fish, scientists now say eating some seafood may boost brain developments in their babies. researchers in spain found that three to four servings of fish a week led to higher i.q. scores and decreases in the autistic spectrum and were surprised to find the results especially strong from fatty fish like tuna. >> george clooney says hollywood is moving in the wrong direction and that african-americans have
