tuesday. cornell bernard has covered the closures since day one. any better today? >> reporter: it depends who you ask. one thing for sure, all these street closures and detours going to take a lot of getting used to. this is second embarcadero tonight that is closed to traffic. the real test comes monday morning for the commute. the foot of market street is barely recognizable, but the new super bowl city is. a village of concert stages and interactive exhibits for fans. e. nest may check out when it opens january 30th. >> i hear they've got some interesting performances, alicia keyes. >> super bowl city will be free to the public with four security entrances,. >> a little inconvenience but going to be cool. >> drivers be ware. rolling due tiers on southbound embarcadero begin on broadway, on to battery street, across

market, into the financial district and bay bridge approaches. the detours last through february 12th. traffic wasn't bad this morning but hours later it looked like a parking lot. >> how did you get to the city. >> through bart. the streets are packed. >> starting tuesday, howard street will be closed between third and forth street for the nfl experience. >> i think it's going to be crazy. hopefully employers will support and allow their employees to work remotely, and it's going to be tough for a little while. >> the maps are posted throughout the financial district. the best route to the ferry building is a straight shot down mission street. >> starting are tomorrow there will be am boosters out -- ambassadors out to answer questions and point commuters in the right direction. they will be easy to spot. they will be wearing green vests. we're live in san francisco,

abc7~news. >> we want to give you a look at the driving detours in place to get around the street closures. see the routes in green. the problem many drivers are having is getting to the bay bridge. we have seen backups on montgomery and battery. these closures are in place through february 12th. abc7 news was in san jose where work is underunderway o. super bowl attractions. downtown, beer gardens, light installations and family friendly activities are being put together. on february 1st, sap center will host the official opening night of super bowl 50 festivities. >> the raiders will meet with the coliseum authority to talk bat possible lesion extension that will keep the raiders in oakland. many believe the owner plans to stay in oakland one more season after they were blocked from moving to los angeles. the group throws meeting will

take place in private. raider fans gathered to watch the nfl playoff action. one man says he is willing to forgive davis for wanting to move. >> made himself look silly by trying to leave, but we are here for raiders, not for mark davis. >> reporter: oakland city leaders plan to keep talking with the raiders about building a new stadium for the siller and black. a scare for shoppers are a fairfield mall. police got a report of an armed man wearing a mask targeting a group of people. they've say there was a fight that sent people running out of the mall but investigators found no evidence that shots were fired. police detained three people. rescue crews in the east bay had to remove a person trapped inside a flipped vehicle. it happened today -- the chp says it's investigating a report that another driver on a cell cut off the person behind the wheel of this red car that flipped on eastbound interstate 80 near the buchanan offa ramp.

a fire destroyed a home in vallejo this morning. firefighters say the roof collapsed when they got and say the house is a total loss. it was under renovation. no one was inside at the time. there was no word what caused the fire. one san jose neighbor faces an increased risk due to flooding and today residents learned how to be more prepared. we were in san jose for the preparedness fair. they set 13 feet below sea level. wisconsin radios can tell -- weather radios can tell you about the weather, and urge people to get flood insurance. >> you have to sign up 30 days before. in february are some of our heaviest rains annually. we want to make sure they're prepared. make sure they're insured. >> residents may have to go three to five days without clean

drinking water or electricity. dealing with el niño damage will top the agenda when pacificas city council meets tomorrow night. a cliff has eroded beneath homes along pacifica's coastline. some of the city's erosion problems emerged years ago. city leaders say more erosion has developed since the storms began pounding pacifica. the city manager has already declared a local state of emergency. happening now. the big dig is underway after a blizzard walloped several states. this is time lapse video from maryland and gives us a look how much snow accumulated friday and saturday. the storm is blamed for at least 22 deaths across eight states. >> the storm is over but millions still stuck at home. >> don't be on the roads.

a lot of times the limited clothes they have are very scant and may be all they have in the world. we're packing clothing, grooming items, food, everything that somebody would need in an immediate emergency. >> january also happens to be human trafficking awareness month. oakland a's fans enjoyed a sneak peek at the 2016 season today. abc7 news was at o.co coliseum in october lend when the fans posed with the championship trophy during fanfest. at least 27 players were there to meet with fans and sign autographs. more than 12,000 people attended. take a look. a police officer in gainesville, florida, had a big prize for a group of neighborhood kids playing basketball. 7'1" nba legend shaquille o'neal got in on the game. officer bobby white responded to a noise complaint earlier this month and found group of kids playing hoops. white joined them and promised he would return to a rematch.

were report after a magnitude 6.9 earthquake happened in alaska. this video from a cargo center shows shaking and stock fall off shelves. one home was badly damaged in an explosion and gas leak that followed the quake which forced evacuation of some 30 homes. >> this weekends' mammoth snowstorm wasn't big enough to stop a long island couple from saying i do the bride to be had to take the subway after her limo could no longer take to their church. the couple invite 200 people and 100 made the trip from farce away as virginia. the bride's father said he knew since she was born during a snowstorm, if anybody could make it happen, it was her. picture perfect winter day here in the bay area. >> going into the work and school week ahead it's going to be a very quiet start.

developing. the theme for the week ahead, a dry week. let's take you through the next 24 hours. tonight, 9:00, partly cloudy skies, first thing on your monday. for me monday morning commute, we'll see areas of fog. so more fog is on the docket with new jersey the 40s. by lunchtime, the fog is out of there, and your evening commute on monday no weather worries. if you want to wash your car the next four days are your days. we're dry from monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday. the next chance of rain not until friday, likely only in the north bay and saturday and sunday next weekend, everyone will have a chance to pick up some shower activity. a similar setup in the sierra, we have healthy snow pack but tomorrow is easy travel, sunshine. tuesday, and also on wednesday, mixture of sunshine and clouds, you see a gradual warming trend.
