abc7~news was in sunnyvale as volunteers filled backpacks with clothing, food and other essentials. the pack goods to people, including many children, rescued from human traffickers. advocates fear many trafficking victims will be brought to the bay area to work in the sex trade during super bowl festivities. january happens to be human traffic awareness month as well. the santa cruz wharf has been closed because of a burst water main. the main provides water to wharf businesses. here's a view from our santa cruz camera. the beach is empty. extreme surf condition is preventing an immediate repair. city officials are working to restore water service until a permanent fix can be made. pacifica keeps finding itself in the eye of el niño enhanced storms and tomorrow the city council will talk about dealing with the damage. you can see some of the damage. people can no longer live in

the fbi and u.s. marshal service is offering a combined award of $50,000 for information leading 0 the arrest of three inmates who escaped the maximum security jail in santa ana, california. the men cut through steel bars and plumbing tunnels, making it to the buildings roof where they were able to rappel to the ground with a makeshift rope. the sheriff's department release these images of the escape, including the cut steel, the rope and the roof where they rappeled. from. twitter is expected to undergo a major overhaul of its top ranks.

the san francisco social media company is expected to announce the departure of several executives and appoint two new board members this week. according to in the "new york times" one of the board members will be announced is a high profile media personality. the twitter ceo is revamping the top ranks as he tries to find ways to revive the company. twitter lit up this weekend after actress andy mcdowell complained about being bumped from the first -- from first class on the site. she sent out this tweet on friday. american air, help. i paid for first class and they put me in tourist because of my dog and that it prebooked and paid for. reaction was quick. people criticized her, calling her spoiled, while others said she could shoo get what she paid for. she responded saying i'm very happy flying in coach, happy on a bus or the sendway but if i pay for first class, that's where i want to be. lessons learned, never complain on twitter and don't play for first class on american airlines.
