like from sky 7 hd. we are understanding to you from the police that they got a call just after 2:20 there was an accident in this driveway involving a 2-year-old girl. when they arrived, this is what they told us they found. >> early indications appears that the child may have been trying to chase after the parent who was leaving to probably say goodbye. >> reporter: again, it appears that that child was caught underneath the vehicle and then the parent obviously stopped at this location that you're looking at right now. the child was pronounced dead here at the scene. investigators still here, but at this point, larry and ama, they are call thing a tragic accident and investigating to determine exactly what happened. they believe the truck was actually leaving, not backing up into the driveway. we'll be here and find out more as details emerge.

laura anthony, "abc7 news." >> how awful. now to developing news. more than a dozen students are out on suspension after throwing a racist party. >> wayne freedman is live in san francisco. what's the story, wayne? >> reporter: this is a story that has the community around this highly respected college preparatory school. it has them very upset. we have 14 students from the school that have been suspended after a racially themed party. there were kids from other schools involved, as well. they call it a wigga party, which combines the word white with the n word. that party happened on saturday night. advance word spread through social media.
4:03 pm
the principal told us a few moments ago that the 14 students were suspended immediately. he would not say for how long. we'll hear first from him and then one of the students who told us the kids involved know better and they meant no harm. >> i have certainly learned that these parties have happened before, but we have never found out about them. now that we have found out about this one, i think we're able to again shine a light on it and hopefully shift the paradigm so this kind of a gathering, these kinds of really offensive gatherings do not happen. because they're categorically wrong. >> i'm not going to say i'm ashamed of my school, i'm very proud how they're reacting, but i was sad to know there were some students out there, after experiencing the curriculum here at the school, they still did this. >> reporter: this is video from sky 7 above stern grove where the party happened once again on saturday night.

this is city property, it is not school property. the people here note that the 14 suspended students did not organize the party. those students merely attended. the student -- the president of the school learned about this event when he received notes from some concerned students and their parents. students told about it. it's also worth noting of the 1400 plus students here, roughly 5% are african-american. so this story is still developing. we'll have more on it later. reporting live, wayne freedman, "abc7 news." >> wayne, thank you. in pacifica, those buildings ravaged by cliff erosion, they need to come down. >> that's according to county officials and taxpayers will likely foot the bill. melanie woodrow is live to explain. melanie? >> reporter: what was once a gorgeous ocean front property
