>> good morning, everyong. i'm carolyn tyler. thanks for joining us on this super bowl sunday, february 7th. let's start with a quick look at the weather with our meteorologist lisa argen. >> hey, carolyn. i like those carolina colors. a big dome of high pressure is push being the storm track to the north. here's the about we've in santa cruz where we will see steadily warming temperatures. 59 degrees in half moon bay, 61 mountain view, from emeryville, tons of sun, blue skies.

some of the cooler spots in the 40s in the north bay. check out livermore at 60. we are as much as 4 to 15 degrees warmer this morning than yesterday at this time. with our easterly winds helping us, temperatures in the mid-60s in the coolest locations, but mid-70s in the warmest, and we haven't even reached the warmest day yet. we will talk about it coming up. carolyn. >> thank you. we begin with developing news out of san francisco. three people dead following a police chase. it was near bran nonand ninth streets. friends of the victims tell abc7 news they were heading home from the nfl experience, celebrating the super bowl. police responded to the report of a car doing donuts in the intersection about 9:30 last night. when chp officers arrived, they began a chase, but ended it because of danger to pedestrian. the victim's car ran several red

to lights and then smashed into a taxi cab, bursting into flames. >> the car was on fire. there was a body under a tarp on the side. it hit a taxi car and that taxi cabdriver was on a stretcher and they were putting out the fire in the car. >> two of the victims burned to death. the other was ejected. after being closed for several hours, bran nonstreet is open once again. today is game day, super bowl 50! all set together this afternoon in santa clara. it has been a whirlwind of concerts and events and none bigger than last night's alicia keys concert. this is a live look at super bowl city from our visa everywhere cam. it will be open again today, but is expected to draw much smaller crowds than yesterday. abc7 news reporter tiffany wilson joins us live now from super bowl city with the details. good morning, tiffany. >> good morning, carolyn.

i have to say super bowl city doesn't open until 11:00 a.m. but don't tell the fans here that. they have already lined up behind me to get last-minute pictures with the big super bowl 50 sign. a lot of the people have been working the event are taking part in the pictures. i talked to a lot of them about san francisco hosting super bowl 50 and the overwhelming response has been positive. >> this event has been awesome. really a lot of accommodating fans. everybody is showing me around the city. having a great time. i feel like it's a 49ers broncos super bowl. >> and as for that big concert last night that alicia keys did on the city stage, only the very dedicated fans made it inside for the show. some people lined up as many as ten hours early. police shut down access to super bowl city and then had to close off the northbound lanes of the embarcadero as thousands of people lined the streets. they were mainly well-behaved but some children got separated

from their families in the chaos. fortunately all were reunited. still it was disappointing for people who arrived about five hours earlier than her first song and still got turned away. as for those who made it inside, well, the experience was still stressful. >> it's insane! i've never seen so many people out on the streets.. >> now today super bowl city does reopen at 11:00 a.m. and then it closes down for good about with half-hour before kickoff. there is one more concert you can look forward tonight, rapper t. i. is going to take the stage at 10:15. doors open at 9:00 p.m. and talking to the people here, earn is excited about super bowl sunday, and most of the predictions are going in favor of the carolina panthers. live in super bowl city, tiffany wilson, a about. c7 news. >> thanks, tiffany.

the crazy clouds made for a hectic scene yesterday afternoon. a golf cart slammed into a food truck in super bowl to city. a super bowl volunteer was hurt. no word on his condition. >> the hottest ticket last night is the warriors game against the thunder. celebrities in town for the super bowl were sitting halftime. super bowl halftime performer beyoncé and husband jay-z enjoyed the game. and jim harbaugh brought his daughter. he said he's looking forward to going back to review's stadium to watch the super bowl. >> it will being great! >> the warriors president said they have not seen this kind of demand since the nba finals. all that extra attention did not shake the dubs. they won their 41st straight regular season home game. that's the second longest regular season home winning

central coast, monterey and watsonville. more 70s on tap today and high pressure building in. it's going to be a beautiful day. we will have this unusual weather for a while. you see the storm track being pushed all the way into alaska. yesterday you had 70s and today you are on your way again to 75 degrees. 63 half moon bay with the gusty offshore winds in the upper elevations all morning long. but at the surface it is pleasant. could see some breezy winds if you are out hiking and not watching the game. i don't know. 54 in san jose. take a look how pretty this is from emeryville. 50 napa with upper 40s novato and by the delta. so you are the cooler locations. but with river more at 60, you can see how quickly the numbers are responding.

compared to 24 hours ago, we are anywhere from 9 to 13 degrees warmer in mountain view and livermore, and a little bit of a warmup in the north bay. but everyone will be anywhere from 8 to 15 degrees above normal today. spring-like warm records are possible tomorrow into tuesday. and we will remain dry. the cool-down will happen electric wednesday into the rest of the week and next weekend. so the surf is elevated. it's dangerous out there. we have large breakers, large rip currents, you can see 6 to 7 feet and flag warnings in the mountains of los angeles. they are looking at the santa ana winds with gusts over 60 miles an hour. but here calm weather. lake tahoe 60 degrees. if you want to go to the beach this is how it will look. upper 60s today, 67 yesterday. the warmest day will be tomorrow and you see all week long it

will be well above average. the average is just 59 for half moon bay. let's look at the trend for tomorrow with the oranges. this is the warmest numbers into the south bay. could see some records there. but look at the 70s stay with us through tuesday. even 69 still in san francisco. so wind shift that begins to cool us off, but not that much on wednesday. it will still be sunny. in fact, today numbers will be a lot warmer in super bowl city and 68 degrees at 2:00. and even around sunset we are looking at low 60s. we will see more 50s for the evening hours. high today 67 in richmond. 74 in napa. santa cruz 70, 73 in morgan hill. still looking at low 70s at the levi's stadium. the accuweather seven-day forecast, records possible. sunny and warm days right on through the middle of the week. the cooling doesn't really begin until wednesday coastside and

many. >> in sports all the hype is just about over. we are hours away from the super bowl kickoff. as you know, the panthers battle the broncos at levi's stadium. kickoff is at 3:30 p.m.. a couple of big honors for some 49ers before the game. wide receiver anquan boldin was named the 2015 walter payton man of the year for improving the lives of underprivileged children. this award is given to the player for his outstanding achievements both on and off the field. eli manning and benjamin watson were the other nominees. a $55,000 donation will be made to the charity of boldin's choice.

earlier last night former 49ers owner, eddie debartolo, jr. was voted into the 2016 class of the pro football hall of fame. here's mike shumann with the details in this morning's sports. >> good morning. well, eddie debartolo has been inducted into the pro football hall of fame. the former 49ers owner brought respectability to the bay area with five super bowl titles and no better place to get it than here in super bowl 50. it's his fourth time at a finalist and took the voters 50 minutes and 43 seconds of debate, the longest of any finalist, before they made the call. there's no better owner in sports if you ask anyone whoever played for him, and i fall into that category. he treated everyone like family and made sure his teams had everything they needed to succeed. mr. d was humbled. >> it's unbelievable. it's almost like it was a script that was written. you know, having super bowl 50 here in the bay area after all the years that we, you know,

that we battled and played here is something that -- i don't know if anybody could ever write a better script. >> well, raider quarterback kenny stabler also got elected to the hall. unfortunate news this past week that stabler likely suffered from cte before his death this past summer. one of the best quarterbacks of the '70s, the snake helped the raiders win their first super bowl in 1977 and also also a part of memorable raider plays like the ghost to the post and the holy roller. fans wondered for years what kept the snake from being elected to the hall. they can wonder no more. warriors and thunder meeting for the first time this season and oklahoma thunder has been on a tear lately. the third best record in the western conference. jay-z, beyoncé, and jim harbaugh, big names watching the game. oklahoma thunder comes out hot. kevin durant kicks starts a 9-0 run and had 30 points. warriors surge ahead in the

this morning we've been warmer. in fact significantly warmer right in here. the reason being gusty offshore winds. now right now above 3500 feet we've got easterly winds from 60 to 70 miles an hour on mt. diablo. the good news is the winds are not making it to the surface. but within the vicinity look how quickly concord and liver to more has warmed up. the rest of the bay, yes, very mild out there. check out the visibility today. you can see the farallons out there and maybe even the sierra nevada from the hills. spring-like warmth today. records possible not only tomorrow but tuesday as well. we get a reversal of the winds which, of course, would be summer-like. that's going to happen on wednesday to bring in the on shore push to bring the cooler weather, but it's going to be dry into next weekend. the surf has been big. it's gotten a little smaller, but still it's always dangerous, ocean beach and anywhere from sonoma to monterey. there will be large breakers and strong rip currents.
