>> gag morning. we are waking up to fog this morning. here's the accuweather forecast with lisa argen. good morning. >> good morning. looks like there's no problems in the big picture. high clouds and low clouds. the national weather service issued a dense fog advise raise for the north bay interior valleys and salinas and points southward. there's a high surf advisory and certainly things to be aware of with visibility really anywhere from about a mile or less from

petaluma to up toward santa rosa. napa just a quarter mile. oakland just over a mile. half-mile san carlos. and right now san jose once again down to two and a half miles and hayward reduced visibility, as well. so we've got high pressure building in that's putting pressure on the atmosphere. and as a result, this is our best picture this morning from our roof camera. low 50s out there. and for the around the fog lists and it will be quite mild. we will talk about details in just a few minutes. chris. >> lisa, thank you. >> new this morning, the santa clara county sheriff's office is asking for your help to identify a man who they say shot another man in downtown san jose. this is a picture of the man who investigators say shot the victim on the lightrail platform on 2nd and santa clara street. it happened just after 10:00 last night. victim was taken to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. the sheriff's office is handling the case because it happened on

vta property. >> this morning authorities are trying to track down the person or persons responsible for a bizarre attack on the golden gate bridge. someone armed with a blow gun shot darts at two visitors walking on the bridge yesterday afternoon on the east part of the span. >> most blow darts are about 4 inches long. according to the highway patrol, one penetrated one victim's three pretty deep. >> went through his jeans and into his legs about two inches. >> as paramedics helped the first victim, a second walked up and said she was also hit. >> she was struck in the kneecap. it had actually gone into the skin. >> so far investigators believe the darts were launched from a car driving northbound on the bring. they are working with the golden gate bridge authority to see if they have any surveillance video to help catch the culprits behind the attack. bobby was here showing his family from london the view. i showed him and his cousin a picture of the dart.

30-year-old robert vega had shot and killed her husband. >> what were the exact words she said? >> that he's been hearing voices lately. and that this -- this is the devil. >> many are wondering how a seemingly good relationship between the 15-year police veteran and the father of his grandson ended so tragically. police say there was an altercation involving the two men. gus's daughter, angel, and the couple's six-year-old son. from their church the family forgave robert vega and praised the officers life. >> the life as a police officer devoted to protecting others, and the life of another. >> he was at the home regularly and even called him dad. neighbors at his fairfield apartment said robert vaga

appeared to be stable. >> seemed like he stayed busy and he had himself under control. he was ex-military too. >> robert vagua is an army veteran who was deployed to iraq and was recently working in construction. in vallejo, alan wang, abc news. >> fire destroyed a home atop a cliff in pacifica yesterday. sky 7hd showed the charred wreckage of an abandoned home just off paul meta avenue, located behind a towing company. firefighters had the fire out in about an hour, although they were slowed down by fallen powerlines. new firefighter video shows smoke pouring out of the home. no one was hurt. finding the cause will be difficult because the building is structurally unsafe. >> 6:05, the time. on the peninsula, fire crews faced dangerous conditions yesterday. that's a power line arcing outside of a home on notre dame avenue in belmont. firefighters pulled a dog and cat out of the home. they gave the cat oxygen and

took it to a veterinary hospital to treat it for smoke inhalation. the dog was not hurt. >> a care facility for disabled adults in mountain view were shut down because of health conditions. inspectors found bedbugs, sewage leaks and mold in the living area of the residents in the man nor. they received a tip and visited the home several times, eventually citing it for 56 infractions. these pictures are from the mountain view voice. not only was it deemed unhealthy, but also unsafe. inspectors also found renovations were done without permits, as well as structural deficiencies. management has appealed the closer. a san rafael community group called for the boycott of two stores for selling what they called alcopop. there's an alcopop free zone in this neighborhood. the group marched in protest. they asked circle k to stop selling the drink.

the drinks are marketed to kids. they are especially concerned with a new product just on the market. >> there's 8 different versions of dead pool on the outside of the mike's hard lemonade can. it's got 8% alcohol content, and they are very sweet, youth oriented flavors. >> the same group tried to get the drinks banned statewide, but failed. >> a group of nuns facing eviction from san francisco's tenderloin now has an unlikely savior. "the chronicle" reports meet are speaker tony robins met with the nuns during a trip to the bay area and handed them a check for $25,000. he heard of their landlord's plan by 50% and wanted to help. nuns have lived at turk and taylor street about 8 years and run a soup kitchen for the homeless at that location. san francisco launched a new

two-person team to address the emergency needs for the homeless. the mayor's office announced the homeless assessment and response team. the team will work from noon to midnight when most of the 911 calls from the homeless come in. a community rolled out the red carpet not for movie stars, but for surfers. the world's best wave riders took part in yesterday's maverick surf contest. sky 7hd flew overhead as the top waves rows as high at 40 feet. >> the man of the hour, nick lamb. >> that's great. it's over the moon. >> the san jose native has been surfing since he was five and has always dreamed of winning the titans of maverick. he did it, and earning $30,000 to boot. >> the waves are so incredible. it brings so many people together. >> his father watched nervously. >> in the final he got a horrible call right toward the end and it looked like he got about five waves on the head right after that.

in illinois prosecutors say another teen showed support for isis by tagging violent videos with emojis. good or bad, emojis are changing the way teenagers interact. >> it's sad because children don't know how to talk to one another these days. >> the 12 year olds, 13-year-olds have had emojis since they have used cell phones so it's how they communicate. >> paul booth is a media specialist at depaul university. >> there's something about a image that really communicates to us. >> but some now worry it's a barrier to understanding kids and keeping them safe. >> so what's the problem? >> i don't speak emoji. >> this episode in the tv show "castle" shows the problem. many adults find deciphering emojis nearly impossible. we found an expert to decode this one. >> by the way to me is like somebody who has a cool look.

weather-wise we are dealing with fog. is it affecting flights? >> no. believe it or not, it is not. and we have fog all around sfo and oakland and san jose. it could. doesn't mean it's not going to change. but as of right now we have just a few areas that are looking at the dense fog. and it's highlighted in gray there. the national weather service has a dense fog valleys for the north valleys and along the central coast. but the purple here from sonoma all the way down into monterey, and we have some advisories to pass on. look how it's going in the north bay. all of a sudden improvement. but head takeover to napa and fairfield just a quarter mile visibility. it's okay in concord and livermore. hayward at about one mile and we being looking at 2 1/2 in san jose and san carlos. and sfo a mile visibility. so we are looking at this all

around the bay area, kind of moving about and looking at some improvements by about 9:00. check this out. you see from how mount sutro, and in the distance mt. tam. the high clouds framing it and the low clouds with temperatures mild. 50 half moon bay, 52 morgan hill. good morning oakland, 55 to you and 53 mountain view and san francisco. the east bay hills camera shows a nice vantage point from sutro in the distance and the fog about 400, 500 feet. it's low and that's because high pressure is pushing down on the atmosphere, and beneath we are looking at the cooler conditions in the north bay. 42 santa rosa, good morning. 45 in novato. and 48 in concord for our friends up in napa. so looking a the a cool start for some, but by the afternoon it's plenty of sunshine. here's mt. tam. you can see how pretty it looks above at 7:02 sunrise. it will be setting after 5:00 tonight. to foggy start. warming up tomorrow. in fact, temperatures could

potentially be record-breaking on monday and tuesday. and numbers today a lot like yesterday. we had low 70s on the peninsula, redwood city. the cool spot was half moon bay at 62. it's almost like we are getting used to the spring fling we are having, but it's not unusual to have the dry spell for a couple weeks in the winter. we hope we can get the jet stream back to bring us some rain and cut through the big ridge. 12 to 13-foot waves from half moon bay to monterey. dangerous conditions through 8:00 tonight. looking at the conditions to be just glorious for monterey. 64 there. pretty warm for los angeles and womb springs. low 80s, upper 80s. 60 at 11:00. 2:00 62 degrees and still around 60 at 5:00 p.m. pretty mild even at the to coast. san jose it gets warmer and warmer and low 70s to mid-70s and upper 70s. then by wednesday here is what we are expecting.
