a series of storms has arrived. time lapse video from the abc7 emeryville camera shows storm clouds moving in the bay area. >> the clouds are already bringing us wet weather. here is live doppler 7hd tracking a rain maker ready to soak the morning commute. i'm dan ashley. >> and i'm ama daetz. let's go live to live doppler 7hd. >> tracking the first of three storms due in this week. let's check out where it is raining right now. it is light to moderate in intensity in the north bay. as i show you the coverage from the clear lake area and down toward gernville, we are seeing rainfall. we are seeing some moderate pockets c of -- pockets of rain. it is around bodega bay. you will notice highway 1 the storm impact scale, we are ranking them one is light and five is severe and this one is

a one. we are looking at between a 10th to a half an inch for most areas. light winds and one thing's for sure, showers are going to dampen your morning commute and slow you down. this is the first of three storms as i mentioned. the strongest is a three on our storm impact scale. >> and the abc7 morning news will have complete coverage of the wet weather and your impact impact -- and your commute. it is tomorrow starting at 4:30 a.m. new at 11:00, a livermore babysitter is charged with abusing a baby. police are worried there may be more possible victims. ma -- mariah was contracted on february 18th. they have not released information on the baby's injuries. they want to talk to anyone else who hired gonzalez through the website.

santa clara county sheriff lori smith went to costco. it was not to buy food or household supplies, but she purchased video cameras for her embattled jail. lilian kim is live in san jose with the story. lilian? >> the sheriff used her own credit card to buy $700 worth of security cameras, and she insists this is not a publicity stunt. workerses at the santa clara county jail are installing new security cameras, a dozen bought at costco for $60 each. she bought them herself after she learned the county's plan for a $20 million system is going to take two years. >> if there are allegations against a staff member we will see it. if there is assault we can see it and have evidence for court. it is something we should have done all along and i wanted it done now. >> new cameras comes four months after the beating death of an inmate.

three correctional deputies are accused of his murder. the cameras are being installed in one housing area, but if it works out well the sheriff plans to buy more. >> we will have captains and lieutenants that can view this. it is an interim solution. it is not a $20 million solution. it is $700 for this pod here. it is going to be adequate and very good. >> the sheriff did not get assurances before buying the cameras, but she is hoping the county reimburses her. abc7 news. tonight police confirmed. tonight police confirmed the human remains is the missing woman from brisbane. there is enough evidence to name her husband, paul, as the primary suspect. paul tishner will not face charges. he committed suicide two days after his wife's remains were discovered along the shoreline. tonight people came together to support a young family now victims of a hate crime. someone set fire under their

car and left a racist note. katie is live with the story tonight. katie? >> dan, the victims have a 2-month-old son and an 89-year-old grandmother at the house and everybody was home when these fires broke out in the middle of the night. it is a crime that rattled and angered the community. >> she was up with her newborn son on february 24th when she saw a flickering light outside. >> a huge fire behind this wheel, like flaming. you can see smoke coming from under there. it was scary because it is by the gas tank. >> there are two logs burning under the suv. her husband put out the fire and called police. >> they found a note on the lawn. >> a note with a racial slur. dozens are outraged with what they call a hate crime and came to this human relations meeting. >> who ever perpetrated this crime is outnumbered by the

rest of us by many thousands to one. >> who ever did this is a coward. >> police are analyzing surveillance video offered by neighbors and asking for more. >> we want to to see if we can track how the suspect got to the crime. even if they have footage and it does president show anything it is -- does president show -- doesn't show anything it shows that maybe somebody didn't pass by their house. >> they struggle to feel safe in their home. >> to know i have a 2-month-old and this early in his life he is not safe doesn't make me feel good. >> the commission is planning a diversity forum. abc7 news. look at this gridlock during the evening commute in san francisco. sky 7hd was over it after 5:00 when the bomb squad arrived to check out a suspicious package. investigators gave the all clear and the street reopened around 8:00. police have not said what that

suspicious package was. the threat of the zika virus is in the bay area. a pregnant woman who traveled to central america tested positive for the disease. she is no longer showing symptoms. county health officials announced the case today and say it is not a threat to public health. the zika virus is primarily transmitted through infected mosquito. a south bay wrestler who contracted a viral skin infection wants the tournament postponed so others are not at risk. he was diagnosed with herpes gladiortium, a skin infection caused by the herpes virus. he thinks he got it from a wrestling match last month. he is earn cked he could have spread it to other wrestlers. >> they need to be stopped from wrestling or the tournament needs to be postponed. just trying to prevent this disease from getting to other people. >> the california

where they are seeing steady rains. santa rosa is now getting ready to pick up light rain. just trace amounts. places have picked up a 10th of an inch of rain. the temperatures with the cloud cover in the 50s and the 60s. it is really mild. here is a live picture from the abc7 news camera. you can see how cloudy it is in san francisco. scattered showers in the morning and more rain on friday and a strong storm is coming in on saturday. let's look at the time line tonight. you notice the rain is focused in the north bay. while you are sleeping the rain will start to shift. at 2:00 a.m. you may be woken up by the pitter patter of rain drops. the rain continues, but it will lighten up and we will see scattered showers for 4:00 a.m. some will barely make it to the south bay. 5:00 a.m. the showers are continuing and 6:00 a.m. as well. if your commute is during the latter part of the morning expect the showers to be less widespread. a few showers in the north bay

and the rest of you seeing cloud cover. isolated showers and that's what we'll go with for the afternoon. isolated showers are popping up just about anywhere. moss of the activity will be done and through here by the morning. rainfall totals? this is a 1. we are not expecting a lot of rain. .03 in san jose to .60 in napa. the next storm is one you want to watch out for. it is a strong storm. it is a 3 on our storm impact scale. saturday evening one to two inches of rain and gusts up to 50 miles an hour. first comes the wind on saturday afternoon. over 50 mile-an-hour winds along the coast. even 40 along our inland areas. then we head to saturday night and the winds ease up. here is where the wind comes in. on saturday morning we have the window of a break. then by saturday evening, afternoon and ink -- evening it will continue and you notice the intensity of the rain. it picks up by 9:00 p.m. the oranges showing up and

there may be a thunderstorm or two between saturday night and sunday morning. sunday morning it eases up. the last system comes through. that will bring light to moderate rain and intns tee. and intensity. the rainfall totals will be between one to just over two inches of rain across the bay area. we are expecting more storms to follow next week. this will turn to snow in the tahoe area and the sierra. initially it is going to be rain in tahoe the next couple days with the high snow levels. eventually they will get a foot to almost two feet of snow by monday night. if you are traveling it is going to be dicey coming back. you might want to plan accordingly. no watches or warnings. temperatures in the 50s. we will be tracking the showers 4:30 to 7:00 a.m. highs for your thursday are more in line with what is expected in winter. the seven-day forecast, one on our storm impact scale the
