news." federal jury found four san francisco police officers did not use excessive force when they shot and killed alex nieto two years ago. police shot him in march of 2014 after they thought he pointed a gun at them when it was a taser. he carried it for his security guard job. coming up at 6:00, we'll have reaction from the courthouse. san jose police officers will work mandatory overtime to fill staffing gaps. the mayor and chief eddie garcia announced police will be assigned an extra shift on sunday. the department is authorized to have 1100 officers, but it faces challenges recruiting and keeping officers because other

agencies offer better pay and benefits. police have identified this map, 21-year-old cody sisson,s the suspect in this weekend's hate motivated graffiti attack. officers grew suspicious because his bike was spray painted in the same color as the offices. he'll arraigned tomorrow afternoon. lawmakers approved sweeping bills to control tobacco use. now the governor has to decide what to approve the higher, legal age for smoking and new rules on e-cigsets. >> reporter: at this smoke shop, the owner has mixed feelings about raising the age to 21. >> this is good for young people, we need to protect them. but too bad for us.

this is "abc7 news." written in the sky. the public saying good bye to nancy reagan today. tomorrow, dignitaries including michelle obama and george w. bush will pay their respects. laura anthony is live at the reagan library tonight. laura? >> reporter: this was the last day for the public to take part in these services for mrs. reagan over the past two days. more than 4,000 people have taken shuttle buses up here to the reagan library to say their final good byes. crowds filing into the reagan library to pay final respects to nancy reagan.

680. we're seeing lighter rainfall, nothing as intense. and in the north bay, san francisco. it was pouring just a short time ago. still raining, though. the north bay is where we have seen most of those problems. flooding has occurred, we've also had debris flows. so we'll continue to have that potential, that urban and small stream advisory is covering the areas seen in green until 8:30 tonight. look at the rain totals. trace amounts in san jose. more than two inches in santa rosa. 1.78 in napa. temperatures right now in the 50s and 60s. we do have the rain on the lens. heavy rain tonight and friday.

totals, over there inches in santa rosa. as you take a look at what's ahead for the rivers, big concerns. napa river at st. helena. flood stage is 16 feet. it is forecast to go up to 16.6 feet tomorrow afternoon. russian river at guerneville, flood stage is 32 feet. forecast to head well above flood stage at 34.9 feet saturday at 8:00 a.m. in the sierra, this will turn to snow. eventually we'll have a winter storm watch saturday afternoon to monday morning. four feet or more for the some of the peaks.

24-year-old woman says she was walking home from a bar when three men assaulted her. she's expected to be okay. police are looking for three men who left in a black hatchback sedan. authorities say the driver rammed a car of the deputy who was following him twice. thankfully, the deputy is okay. the chase started in the parking lot in san mateo county. they were arrested after they lost a tire and tried to run away. nasa wants to save airlines money by keeping away the bugs. bug splats can drag down fuel efficiency by as much as 6%. so nasa is testing six different coatings. they're non-stick kcoverings tht
